We will be listing all the solutions each day here, but you can also find all the available codes for MTG Arena as well as instructions on how to redeem them in our dedicated guide:

Please note that even if all clues and solutions are spoiled for all the days below, codes will not work until you receive the mail for that day.

Clue 1

Hello, detective. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

A mysterious figure has been leaving cryptic clues all over Arena. We'll need your help to crack the case.

Solve the riddle below, and enter the Code in the store for a prize!

The first clue we found is easy: "Who is known as the 'Master Sleuth' on Ravnica?"

Good luck, detective! More clues may appear in Arena over the next few days, so stay vigilant. We must solve all five clues before leave Ravnica on April 9th.

Clue 2

Good work tracking down clues so far, detective.

The only lead we have right now is what you just found in the Store. It's the Dossier card style of a fellow sleuth.

How does it describe the Homicide Investigator's approach to solving crime?

Remember, once you have the answer, enter it as a Code to get a reward. Best of luck.

and an evil plot have been furthered,

as poor Teysa Karlov has been tragically '________'"

Who would write such a horrible rhyme? Remember once you have the answer to enter it as a Code to get a reward. Good luck, detective! And stay safe.

Enter the passphrase 'Ravnica Lineup' in the Deckbuilder. You will be presented with a number of notable figures. The high and mighty of our fair city. But someone is missing. What is the pattern, and who--or what--is not included in this rogues' gallery?

Submit your answer into the Code entry in the store, and you'll be well on your way to cracking this case!

PS - If you're stumped, make sure to filter for unowned cards to see all 9 Ravnica legends! And remember, your code phrases cannot contain spaces.

One Piece Card Game Banned and Restricted Announcement – Sakazuki, Great Eruption, and Reject Banned https://dotgg.gg/one-piece-card-game-banned-and-restricted-announcement-march-15-2024/ Fri, 15 Mar 2024 10:16:47 +0000 https://dotgg.gg/?p=17062 Great Eruption, Reject, and Sakazuki has been added to the Banned card list in the English version from June 21, 2024!

The post One Piece Card Game Banned and Restricted Announcement – Sakazuki, Great Eruption, and Reject Banned appeared first on DotGG.

]]>
At the Bandai Card Games Fest 23-24 World Tour Final in Japan, the biggest tournament of the season, all decks in the top 4 were Sakazuki - and has been the top meta contender for a while since its release. At the tournament, Bandai announced that SakazukiGreat Eruption, and Reject will be banned in the Japan version of the game from April 1, 2024.

For the English version, with the release of the new set OP-06: Wings of the Captain, Bandai decided to follow suit and ban the Leader and two associated cards starting June 21, 2024. Let's find out the why!

OP05-041 Sakazuki

This card's effect allows players to draw cards with little risk, making the ideal game plan centered around this card easily replicable. Its reliability is a strength that sets it apart from other Leaders, especially in tournaments.

In addition, the blue and black color combination affords highly flexible effects, with black serving to lower cost and blue removing Character cards at the bottom of the deck. The result is a deck that is more powerful than expected, leading to one-sided battles that ignore the use of the trash, [On K.O.] effects, and other game mechanics.

This card has a higher win rate and usage rate than other cards due to its powerful removal ability, reliability, and minimal risk, and significantly impairs the enjoyment of fundamental aspects of the ONE PIECE Card Game: the back-and-forth of attack and defense between Characters and the ability to choose from a variety of Leaders. We have therefore decided to designate this card as a Banned Card.

ST06-015 Great Eruption

While many other cards reduce cost in a way similar to this card, this is the only card that can reduce cost without consuming any cards in the player’s hand or imposing any conditions, making it powerful in every stage of the game. We have determined that this card significantly lowers the risk involved in removal for decks containing black cards.

Given the very high usage rate and win rate of decks that include black cards, and the fact that this card has the highest usage rate among cards that reduce cost, we have decided to designate this card as a Banned Card.

OP06-116 Reject

The "deal 1 damage to your opponent" effect of this card greatly improves the ability of decks containing yellow cards, which often feature [Trigger] effects, to deal finishing blows. It thereby makes these decks harder to deal with than expected and significantly boosts their win rate.
In addition, we are concerned that the cost of dealing 1 damage via this effect is low and the ability to easily ignore offensive and defensive play causes more stress for players than expected, so we have decided to designate this card as a Banned Card.

Replacement Sakazuki Card

Replacement Sakazuki Card

With the Japan announcement, as a way to not completely remove the Leader, a new Sakazuki Leader card was announced. It will be distributed as a promotional card at future tournaments and events with the following new text:

Once Per Turn/On Main: You may trash 1 (Navy) card from your hand: Reduce the cost of up to 1 of your opponent's characters by 1.

This is an interesting way to handle the situation nonetheless, as it's not quite an errata! The English version will be getting an official announcement for it at a later date.

Current Banned Card List

These three cards now join Moby Dick and Cabaji in the One Piece Card Game Banned card list.

Furthermore, the FAQ has been updated to include information that Gleamium can now be earned in-game likely via the battle pass! Check out the full details below.

Developer Update

MultiVersus Game Director Tony Hyunh has filmed the announcement on location at the WB Studio Tour Center.

FAQ

Who is developing MultiVersus?

MultiVersus is developed by Player First Games.

Who is publishing MultiVersus?

MultiVersus is published by Warner Bros. Games.

When will MultiVersus launch?

MultiVersus is scheduled to launch on May 28, 2024.

What platforms is MultiVersus available on?

Does MultiVersus have rollback netcode?

Yes. MultiVersus will have deterministic rollback netcode to support online gameplay.

What is Gleamium in MultiVersus?

Gleamium is an optional type of in-game currency in MultiVersus that can now be earned in-game or purchased with real money through the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC (Steam and Epic Games) online stores. Gleamium can be used to unlock different types of optional in-game content, including characters, character variants (skins), and cosmetic items. Purchasing Gleamium is optional and not required for any aspect of the game.

Do players need to purchase Gleamium to unlock characters in MultiVersus?

Does MultiVersus have a Battle Pass?

Is a version of MultiVersus currently available to play?

Players who downloaded MultiVersus before April 4, 2023, currently have limited offline access to the game’s training room (known as The Lab) and local matches, along with all characters and cosmetic items temporarily unlocked. This limited access version is available until the launch of the game on May 28, 2024. Please note, all online modes and features are unavailable during the downtime period.

All content earned or purchased before June 25, 2023, including unused Gleamium, Battle Pass tokens, character tickets, and any other in-game cosmetics, will carry over when MultiVersus launches on May 28, 2024. We’ll share more details and updates in the lead up to launch as some progression based elements will be adjusted.

Will progress and content earned after June 25, 2023, carry over to the MultiVersus launch?

Progress and content earned after June 25, 2023, will not carry over to launch. During the downtime between the Open Beta closure on June 25, 2023, and the MultiVersus launch on May 28, 2024, the game will be offline and all online modes and features will be unavailable. Players will, however, have limited offline access to the game's training room (known as The Lab) and local matches and all characters and cosmetic items will be temporarily unlocked for players to enjoy offline during this period.

Which cosmetic items are available following the Open Beta closure on June 25, 2023?

All characters, character variants (skins), and ringouts are currently unlocked and available for players to enjoy during the downtime period between the Open Beta closure on June 25, 2023, and the MultiVersus launch on May 28, 2024. Please note, profile icons and badges are not available during this time.

Will refunds be available for previously purchased content?

The announcement of the MultiVersus Open Beta closure does not change any current refund policies or terms offered by the storefront(s) from which Founder’s Packs or Gleamium bundles were purchased. For more information, please visit the customer support pages for PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games. Additionally, refunds are not available as a result of the Open Beta closure. However, all content earned or purchased before June 25, 2023, will carry over when MultiVersus launches on May 28, 2024. We’ll share more details and updates in the lead up to launch as some progression-based elements will be adjusted.

What changes will be implemented as part of the MultiVersus launch?

We plan to focus on several areas, including the content cadence of new characters, maps and modes; netcode and matchmaking improvements; progression system updates; and much more. We’ll have additional details to share as we get closer to the game’s launch on May 28, 2024.

Goddess of Victory: Nikke Announces Re:Zero Collaboration https://dotgg.gg/goddess-of-victory-nikke-announces-rezero-collaboration/ Tue, 12 Mar 2024 03:26:10 +0000 https://dotgg.gg/?p=18032 Can Nikke's Re:Zero collaboration follow the success of the NieR event?

The post Goddess of Victory: Nikke Announces Re:Zero Collaboration appeared first on DotGG.

]]>
Goddess of Victory: Nikke have announced another upcoming collaboration event for 2024, following the massively popular NieR collaboration last year!

Announcement

Re:Zero

With the color and font scheme used in the promotional thumbnail and the same X logo used with the Epic Seven collaboration, it is likely to be one with Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- with the third season of its anime to be released very soon, potentially even this month along with Nikke's next update.

Re:Zero Season 2
Epic Seven X Re:Zero

Emilia and Rem are given. There are a lot of candidates for the free SR unit though...Beatrice, Ram, or even Puck

Future of Nikke

SHIFT UP is getting busy behind the scenes, with the upcoming Stellar Blade action RPG to be released exclusively to PlayStation 5 on April 26, 2024, and even gearing up to be a public company soon as its valuation reaches its peak.

There is no doubt Goddess of Victory: Nikke has been a massive success for them, but will the company vision change after this? Is Re:Zero going to be another slam dunk? Let us know in the comments below!

Stellar Blade and Nikke Developer, SHIFT UP Going Public at $2.3 Billion Valuation https://dotgg.gg/stellar-blade-and-nikke-developer-shift-up-going-public-at-2-3-billion-valuation/ Tue, 12 Mar 2024 03:25:15 +0000 https://dotgg.gg/?p=18037 IPO filed with a new PlayStation 5 game and collaboration event for Nikke in the pipeline.

]]>
SHIFT UP, the South Korean game developer behind Goddess of Victory: Nikke, the recently closed Destiny Child, and the upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive action RPG Stellar Blade has filed to become a publicly traded company!

IPO Application

Shift Up filed an application for IPO for the Korea Stock Exchange, Kosdaq on March 5, 2024. The number of shares scheduled for sale during the upcoming public offering is 7.25 million, with a par value of ₩200 ($0.15) per share.

Company Valuation

Shift Up’s valuation approached ₩2 trillion ($1.5 billion) in October 2023, and Korean analysts expect it to reach a valuation of ₩3 trillion ($2.3 billion) after going public.

Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade Key Art
Stellar Blade

SHIFT UP is currently working on Stellar Blade, a third-person hack and slash game made in partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment, which is expected to be released for PlayStation 5 on April 26, 2024. A demo was released early inadvertently, but was quickly taken down again. However, some players were able to get a hold of the copy and enjoy the upcoming game and it looks quite amazing!

Goddess of Victory: Nikke

Goddess of Victory: Nikke's continued success, surpassing around $600 million in player revenue on mobile only, has been a boon to SHIFT UP's valuation. With all that happening in the background, a new collaboration event with Re:Zero has been announced, and if the NieR collaboration was anything to go by, this could be another huge boost for SHIFT UP's valuation. Could it be too niche however?

Will you be investing in SHIFT UP? Let us know in the comments below!

Wuthering Waves, a highly anticipated free to play action RPG release in 2024 looking to emulate the success of Genshin Impact, has revealed its initial release date on the Epic Games Store page but since has been removed!

Is Wuthering Waves Ready for Release?

The Wuthering Waves Epic Games Store page has been up for a good while now, but only the last day its page has been updated. It briefly revealed the release date as May 30, 2024 but since has been changed to 2024. Whether that is just a placeholder date or a target date, it is hard to say.

However, the Closed Beta II has only recently concluded and has shown the players the basic systems but not nearly enough for the game to be ready by this time.

With other big games such as Zenless Zone Zero and Arknights Endfield gearing up for release as well, 2024 is bound to be a pivotal year for free to play mobile gaming.

The inevitable end to Magic Spellslingers has come, Magic: The Gathering's attempt at a Hearthstone equivalent. As of June 4, 2024, the game will be shut down and existing players can claim 1,500 MTG Arena gems. We have the full scoop below!

What is Magic Spellslingers?

Magic Spellslingers is a digital collectable card game officially launched globally in August 10, 2022. Originally ambitiously titled “Valor’s Reach”, the game has also been in a long soft launch since 2019. It was designed as a mobile card battler similar to games like Hearthstone, but with Magic's intellectual property.

Magic Spellslingers Announces Sunset

Since its global launch, Magic Spellslingers has received sporadic updates and limited support. Its last major update was on March 14, 2023, introducing a few new Spellslingers (the equivalent of Heroes) and barely any new cards along the way but obviously not enough to keep players interested. With that, the servers will be shut down on June 4, 2024.

Magic Spellslingers Sunset Announcement

It is with both gratitude and sorrow that we are announcing the sunset of Magic Spellslingers.

Starting March 6, all in-game cash purchases will be turned off. The game servers will continue to operate until noon Pacific time on June 4, 2024.

This has been an amazing journey for all of us; we thank you all for playing and enjoying our game.

— The Spellslingers Team

A Gift for Playing

Conclusion

At its core, Magic Spellslingers was not a bad game by any stretch (we even we covered the game briefly on MTG Arena Zone). Unfortunately, it is eerily similar to what Warcraft Rumble is going through right now with Blizzard, and shows it is not enough to just mimic a successful game these days.

The writing was on the wall even before its release, as its outdated concept and lack of promotion could not compete with the likes of Marvel Snap or even Hearthstone that has been adding new game modes to keep players engaged. Even card games with a big backing such as Legends of Runeterra are winding down their development significantly due to lack players and revenue. We've seen numerous others such as DC Dual Force, Eternal, Gwent, Duelyst, Artifact, and many more end their services eventually.

Furthermore, Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast has undergone a big layoff this year, and it also affected MTG Arena. With communication and game issues being more apparent than it was before, while MTG Arena is not likely to shut down like Magic Spellslingers anytime soon, it seems to be barely keeping up with just adding new cards to the client.

Having said all that, it's not all doom and gloom for card gamers. It seems actual tabletop physical trading card games are still in demand more than ever. Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon (just announcing a new mobile version of its card game), and Yu-Gi-Oh! are going stronger than ever after more than 20 years, and new ones such as One Piece Card Game and Disney Lorcana are in high demand.

So the problem? Free to play mobile games is a tough market!

Remember that Genshin Impact is a game where you need to take account of weapons, artifacts, constellations, and team building. Each of them can affect the outcome of your team, whether it's good or not. The tier list below tries to take the optimal setup into account, but a lot of characters can work well - even those ranked lower - if you invest in them.
Disagreeing with the tier list is normal as we have our own opinions, calculations, and biases toward certain characters. But if you want to prove your point, write it in a respectful manner.

Tier List Explanation

SS-Tier: Cream of the crop. Put them in any suitable team and they could demolish the difficult content quite easily (not limited to speedrun). Each character has its own best points that can shine greatly in the end-game once invested.

S-Tier: Strong characters who excel in their specific roles. Some can also easily become core party members with the correct investment in artifacts or constellations. Can enter the SS Tier with a small nudge.

A-Tier: Requires higher investment either into getting the specific artifacts/weapons/team members to achieve performance akin to other characters in the upper tiers. If not, they may deal decent damage/support only instead of a wow-worthy number.

B-Tier: Characters that are great in their role. But, they shine the most only when they are equipped in certain team configurations, but not as well by themselves. In other words, they are dependent (a lot) on other characters in the upper tier.

C-Tier: They can do their jobs, but can easily be replaced with other characters in the upper tier because of their lack of certain skills, stats, or other attributes. In addition, they may need buffs or specific strategies to be effective in combat.

D-Tier: Have a limited role and can only shine when they are highly invested. Even so, can't compete with other characters (and often overshadowed) in the upper tier that only require small to mid-investment. Highly recommend replacing them with better characters once you have them.

SS Tier

Main DPS

Neuvillette
One of the best Hydro characters in the game. His Charged ATK (main damage output) dish out so much damage it's not even funny. A one-man army, but with the downside of easily being interrupted by enemies. Don't fret though as his C1 can remove said (major) weakness.

Alhaitham
The self-proclaimed feeble scholar hides his strong ability behind his kit. Since both his Elemental Skill and Burst scale to Elemental Mastery, his reaction damage and even normal damage are very powerful. Alhaitham can deal with both single and multi-target DMG, making him suitable for fighting mobs or bosses (Although it depends on the Chisel-Mirror Stacks).

Hu Tao
Powerful and consistent damage through Elemental Skill that buffs her Charged Attack, and high multipliers that go even higher when she has below 50% HP. Her Elemental Burst deals considerable damage (better with buffs and reactions) and heals herself, making her a safer pick for a no-healer team.
But it's challenging to use her at C0 because you need to use animation canceling to get her optimal damage number. However, this can be solved by bringing Xianyun as support or getting her C1.

Raiden Shogun
A ridiculously overpowered character even with a forgable 4-star weapon "The Catch." Elemental Skill provides free-field damage, Electro applicant, increased Burst damage, and Energy particles.
While her Elemental Burst is extremely strong with almost 100% uptime, especially when she is built fully Energy Recharge. Her most famous team would be the National Team - where all of the members (excluding her) are 4-star characters with superb supporting skills.
If you're willing to spend some $, go for her C2 as she will gain DEF ignore which is extremely powerful.

Navia
That one Geo character who is different than the others as she wants as many different elements as possible in her team (very flexible in different teams). She shines the most with Crystallize and her Elemental Skill can deal buckshot of damage from small mob to bosses.

Lyney
Unlike Navia, this magician prefers to be in a team full of only his element. But thankfully, his passive talents save his mono-Pyro team. His Charged ATK can deal high damage while also making his Grin-Malkin Hat (one summoned while doing Charge Level 2) taunt enemies. Since he is easily interrupted, taunting enemies with his Grin-Malkin Hat is really time and self-saving. Once he gets sufficient Prop Surplus stacks, his Elemental Skill deals tons of damage.
This is where you can find the problem as Charged ATK decreased his HP and he can only gain a stack when his HP is above 60%. So you're gonna need a healer (Bennett) to help Lyney get his HP back.

Sub-DPS

Nahida
True to her position as a Dendro Archon, Nahida is a diamond in every Dendro team. Similar to Raiden Shogun, if you're willing to spend $ on her, go for Nahida's C2 as it can provide massive Crit Rate and Crit DMG for the Burning, Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon team while decreasing enemies' DEF for Quicken, Aggravate and Spread team.
Her Elemental Skill has great off-field damage and can apply Dendro multiple times. The duration of Elemental Skill is extremely long, with an extremely short cooldown. Elemental Burst has a wide AoE with a low Burst cost, providing a huge Elemental Mastery bonus to characters within.

Furina
The other half of 'one of the best Hydro characters' in the game. Her Elemental Skill basically has an infinite duration as her cooldown is much shorter than her skill duration. Not only that, her (Ousia) damage is no joke as the Salon Members is akin to having 3 main DPS on the field. But the downside is their attacks are not as fast as the Hydro application of Xingqiu or Yelan, which is still acceptable.

Xingqiu
A precious 4-star character with superb off-field supporting skills. In a nutshell, his Elemental Skill deals decent damage and tons of particles, in addition to generate Rain Swords that reduce the amount of damage taken and increase the character's resistance to reduction. Minor healing from when a Rain Sword is shattered or when its duration expires. Elemental Burst is his greatest skill, dealing Hydro damage off-field and allowing active character to trigger elemental reactions.

Yelan
5-Star Xingqiu. Powerful and consistent off-field Hydro application from her fairly high-cost Elemental Burst, in addition to providing bonus damage to active character. Elemental Skill can take care of the energy gathering, especially when equipped with an ER bow, also while dealing high damage to enemies. Easy to build as most her skills are scaled off her HP.
Bonus: Her Elemental Skill is extremely useful in exploration as it does not consume stamina.

Xiangling
This small chef has an average Elemental Skill, but a devastating Elemental Burst damage that can be utilized in most elemental reaction teams. Elemental Skill summon Guoba to deal off-field Pyro damage and generate energy for her high Burst energy cost. Elemental Burst (can be snapshotted) then comes in surrounding the active character with Pyronado that deals continuous Pyro damage to enemies.
Unfortunately, she's very energy-hungry so it's best if she is paired with another Pyro character (Bennett).

Kaedehara Kazuha
Top-tier Anemo support (arguably the best) with easy access to activate the Viridescent Venerer artifact. Elemental Skill can group enemies and Elemental Burst can change type when coming in contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro which will make elemental reactions easier. Every time he triggers Swirl, all party members gain an Elemental Damage bonus.

Support

Bennett
If Kazuha is the best 5-star support, then Bennett is the best 4-star support. His Elemental Skill has a short cooldown (if you use Charge Level 1, which is the recommended level), providing lots of Particles with the help of his Energy Recharge ascension stat. Elemental Burst is the main attraction, allowing him to buff ATK and heal teammates inside the AoE while also dealing decent damage.

Zhongli
Old but gold. Ultimate defense unit. Elemental Skill will create a formidable shield and Stone Seele that deals AoE Geo damage and can be chained with other Geo constructs to largen the AoE. Furthermore, characters protected by the shield will decrease opponents' Elemental RES and Physical RES. Elemental Burst will deal solid damage in an AoE and petrifies enemies in place for a few seconds, in addition to having a low Burst cost.

Baizhu
A healer that is often overlooked but is actually a diamond in a rough. He provides high healing and buffing Dendro reactions. Although his shield is paper-thin, it has a decent resistance to interruption that is beneficial for certain DPS. Baizhu is not suitable as a DPS because of his extremely short-range attacks, where he needs to be really close to the enemy for his attacks to properly hit them.

Sangonomiya Kokomi
If you're a veteran player, I'm sure you're aware of the drama when Kokomi was first released. But once the Dendro element is added to the game, it pushes her from the bottom to the top of the tier list, specifically in the Bloom and Hyperbloom teams.
Her Elemental Skill can heal party members, apply Hydro, and stay on the field even after switching characters. Her Elemental Burst will heal the whole team. But if she is not in any Dendro-related team, her skill is rather mediocre as her raw damage is low and her E is stationary.

Main DPS

Kamisato Ayaka
One of the most powerful and consistent DPS units as her Cryo infusion is tied to her sprinting, which is nearly permanent. While her Normal Attacks are basic, it's reliable. Short Elemental Skill cooldown and high-scale Elemental Burst with the downside of high Energy cost. In addition, she requires high investment not only for herself but also for her whole team (usually comprised of all 5-star characters).

Gaming
One may say he is a 4-star Xiao as his main damage output also depends on Plunging Attack. For a low-rarity unit, he has such high base scalings that it allows him to stand alongside 5-star DPS (A hidden 5-star if you have C6 Gaming).
Gaming is self-sufficient enough as he can heal himself from both his Elemental Skill and Burst, which lets him utilize Marechaussee Hunter even without Furina.

Kamisato Ayato
Great DPS that utilizes Elemental Skill to convert his Normal Attack to AoE Hydro damage, hitting single and multi-target enemies. Although his damage couldn't compete against other DPS (cough Neuvillette cough), he is still powerful in various teams. Has a minor support skill that increases the Normal Attack damage of characters within his Elemental Burst AoE.

Tartaglia
High raw damage but is quite difficult to learn and play optimally. Elemental Skill can swap between ranged stance and melee stance, but high cooldown the longer it's used. Elemental Burst also depends on the two stances, with the melee stance bringing out the best of him. He is great at a group of enemies rather than a single target.

Wriothesley
His true potential is locked behind C1. If you have C1 Wrio, then he has the potential to stand in SS rank (only when he's facing a single-target enemy). For a catalyst-user, the Duke depends on close combat and no other options. In addition, he's suitable only when fighting single-target and will really struggle against spread-out mobs.

Tighnari
Some may think Tighnari is not that much of a great character since he's in the standard banner, and they cannot be more wrong. This veteran Forest Ranger is almost as good as Lyney (and similar too) with his main damage output coming from Charge Level 2 Charged Attack and Elemental Burst with an extremely low Energy cost. His team is a bit limited to Spread team to ensure he deals consistent big damage, but it's worth it.

Diluc
The Darknight Hero would be almost forgotten if not for the meta-changing character Xianyun. Diluc having the highest Plunging Attack ratio synergizes too well with the Xianyun that he rises up the rank like the phoenix he is.
Because he can trigger the reaction for each plunge, his strongest team comps can significantly outperform average Vaporize teams. Diluc at C0 can shine even better compared to C0 Gaming, but will get overshadowed if Gaming is at C6.

Ganyu
Another bow-user who favors using Charged ATK. Her best trait is Charged ATK which deals huge damage and is a safer option that can be used far from enemies. Ganyu relies quite a lot on a shielder because she is easy to get interrupted if enemies manage to get close. Her Elemental Skill is a handy taunt and Elemental Burst deals continuous Cryo damage in an extremely huge AoE, making her a great sub-DPS to apply Cryo off-field. Her Aimed Shot also helps hunt animals from afar when exploring.

Sub-DPS

Fischl
Performs well as Main DPS (Physical) but even better as Sub-DPS because her Elemental Skill stays on the field even after being switched, allowing the team to trigger reactions easily. Elemental Burst is not particularly powerful, but it is mainly used to reset Elemental Skill. Gets even better with higher constellation, but still does her job even at C0.

Yae Miko
Great off-field Electro DPS. Elemental Skill has an extremely low cooldown and can also be used to dodge enemies. The summoned Sesshou Sakura has quite a wide targeting area, but the downside is it is quite a lengthy setup. She needs a LOT of energy (the highest Energy cost character in Genshin Impact alongside Raiden Shogun) so there should definitely be a second Electro character as a battery if you are planning to use her Elemental Burst. It is worth it in the end as her Burst deals huge tons of AoE Electro damage.

Nilou
Exclusively limited to the Dendro Bloom team to maximize her damage output, in addition to the need for a healer because of the Dendro Core explosion. But once she is in her element, she can proc extremely huge bombastic powerful Bloom reaction from both Elemental Skill and Burst, with a great passive skill that increases party members' Elemental Mastery.

Kuki Shinobu
If you're trying to create a Hyperbloom team, look no further as Kuki is the best character to be invited. She is simply awesome when being utilized as Electro support in a Dendro-related team. Her Elemental Skill provides consistent off-field Electro applicant, while also healing teammates which is perfect for the Hyperbloom team. Elemental Burst also has a low cost so she can easily trigger once the cooldown ends, dealing respectable Electro damage in an AoE.

Albedo
An excellent Sub-DPS and off-field Geo damage. Can fit onto most teams, giving out an Elemental Mastery bonus. The downside that can't be fixed is when Solar Isotoma (his Elemental Skill) is placed on the field, it may disrupt melee character's movement by lifting said character to a certain height.

Support

Mona
Elemental Skill creates Phantom of Fate, taunting enemies nearby and continuously dealing Hydro damage, even after being switched out. Elemental Burst creates an Illusory Bubble that deals Hydro damage, traps opponents, makes them take more damage, all the while hits extremely hard on its own. Her Alternate Sprint also allows her to move swiftly and dodge most attacks, while also applying Wet status to nearby opponents when reappear.

Xianyun
An Adeptus that can turn everyone into Xiao. Jokes aside (not really), she can open a gate to a new meta where you depend on your main DPS' Plunging Attack. Aside from providing buffs for plunges, she can also heal the whole party, which synergizes really well with Furina and her Elemental Burst. The best part is she's quite easy to build as you can focus on her ATK.

Shenhe
Premiere support for the Cryo team exclusively. Elemental Skill provides huge support for party members, from Elemental Skill and Burst damage boost, to Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack boost. Elemental Burst decreases opponents' Cryo RES and Physical RES at the cost of high energy requirements.

Jean
A bit of a rare character that can cleanse debuff with Elemental Burst, in addition to healing party members and inflicting continuous Anemo damage to enemies within AoE. Elemental Skill can gather enemies and send smaller ones to experience heavy fall damage. Fall behind other Anemo supports in terms of crowd control, but has powerful constellations that make her even better.

Chevreuse
If you don't have enough Anemo characters to abuse the VV set with, you can use the snack-loving character with her powerful Electro and Pyro RES Shred debuff. Other than that, she can also buff ATK and healing even with C0. She got massively better with C6 and can completely replace an Anemo character in the Overload team. But only in the Overload team though.

Sucrose
Great 4-star Anemo support with Crowd-Control and Elemental Mastery bonuses for the team. Both Elemental Skill and Burst can gather enemies, directly triggering the Viridescent Venerer artifact to shred resistance from enemies. Although her Burst requires high energy cost, her Elemental Skill can cover it up, especially with the help of C1 and Sacrificial Fragment.

Faruzan
Can only be utilized as Anemo support with her rare Anemo damage buff and Anemo RES shred. Her gathering from Elemental Skill (Pressurized Collapse) is pretty weak and can only pull small and lightweight enemies. The downside is she has massive ER problems because of the high Energy Cost for Elemental Burst and is extremely dependent on her Constellation (especially C6) to fix the problems.

Main DPS

Xiao
An Adeptus that is not so rare (in terms of Plunging DPS with the arrival of Xianyun that can make everyone a Plunging DPS) anymore but still deals tons of powerful and consistent AoE damage through Burst alone without any help of elemental reactions.
Quite depended on another Anemo character in the team to help him generate energy for Elemental Burst which his Skill lacks. Another reason he falls into A Tier and not above is because this little birdie requires support for offensive and healing to perform optimally.

Wanderer
A complete DPS without any supporting skills. Since he's a catalyst, every attack can provide consistent Anemo damage and Swirl. Elemental Skill has a short cooldown and dramatically increases his damage. However, he is quite dependent on a shield because once hovering, he's very vulnerable to interruption and can be staggered easily once hit. Elemental Burst is not that big of a deal but has decent Energy Cost and can be spammed IF you have another Anemo character to generate more particles. Similar to Xiao, our Hat Guy also wants dedicated support to perform well at lower constellations.

Arataki Itto
Solid Geo DPS that centers around the Mono-Geo team and is easy to build as most skills are scaled off his defense. Elemental Skill packs a punch and also taunts enemies. His Elemental Burst has a high cost but makes it up with devastating Geo damage by her Charged Attack and stacks of Superlative Superstrength. Requires high investment and is dependent on certain team comps to deal top-tier damage.
Bonus: The only character with exploration skill that gave additional logs of wood when farming woods (if you're still playing with the Serenitea Pot, that is).

Yoimiya
In a way, Yoimiya performs similarly to Hu Tao, but her performance is still below said director of a funeral parlor. Suffers from targeting issues, is prone to interruption, and lacks AoE damage. But once she got some of those problems covered with a shielder and other off-field element applicants, she can melt enemies in a single target situation. Her only support skill is increasing party members' Attack after using her Elemental Burst, also dealing AoE Pyro damage when other characters hit the marked enemy, which is rarely utilized.

Cyno
Hyper carry DPS that only know how to be a weapon. Activating Elemental Burst allows him to deal high damage for up to 18 seconds, and you need teammates that can keep up with providing buff for those seconds like Nahida or Baizhu. Dendro can amplify his damage even further with Aggravate reaction due to his fast attacks, EM bonus, and low-cooldown Elemental Skill.

Keqing
A starter character who would struggle in the tier list if not for the existence of the Dendro element, which bumps her position to the higher tier. Elemental Skill can hit weak points and has a low cooldown. Using it twice in a row will infuse her attack to Electro, making it easier for her to trigger an elemental reaction. Her Elemental Burst has a low energy cost, but also a low damage multiplier that places her very low in the DPS tier. Her damage can be maximized with Quicken/Aggravate reactions that will increase her Electro damage.

Noelle
Another starting character but still holds her grounds in the upper-tier list despite being a 4-star character. This lovely maid can be utilized as a DPS, shielder, and healer all at once, depending on the build. Her Elemental Skill creates a sturdy shield that scales off her Defense and has a chance to heal allies (the chance will be guaranteed if you have her constellations). Elemental Burst has 100% uptime with a decent energy cost, but you will need a battery to sustain her energy.

Eula
Arguably the best Physical DPS in the game. Her Elemental Skill decreases enemies' Physical RES and Cryo RES, and can further be maximized by bringing Electro to trigger Superconduct. Elemental Burst has a huge AoE Burst damage but requires timing as it has a chance to miss upon exploding against agile enemies. That is #1 reason why Eula missed her spot to be in an even upper tier.

Sub-DPS

Venti
The only Archon that is not in the SS Tier. The reason is because while he is useful in end-game content like Spiral Abyss even until now with his Elemental Skill and Burst, he is outperformed by Kazuha and Sucrose who can do the same while also providing a buff to the team.
On the bright side, with a low energy cost for Elemental Burst that can easily be acquired from Skill, he can spam black hole that gather enemies together for tons of AoE damage while causing Swirl reactions. Another downside is we are getting many new enemies that are heavier and can't be sucked into the hole.

Beidou
Many missed out on using Beidou thinking her parry kit might ruin the tempo of a team rotation. But honestly, she's best being utilized as a Sub-DPS in the Taser team. Her Elemental Burst deals constant Electro damage to enemies around the active character. In the meantime, the Main DPS will dish out other elemental to proc reactions. Unfortunately, miss captain has a huge Energy cost so you better pair her up with another Electro character on the team.

Rosaria
An angry nun who excels in several areas either as DPS or support. Her Elemental Skill, while simple, can generate a decent amount of particles, charging her powerful Elemental Burst. And it's not the damage that was paid attention to for her Burst, but instead the continuous Cryo application and bonus Crit Rate for the whole party members which makes her a great option for any Freeze or Melt team.

Collei
A decent Dendro support and off-field applicator. Elemental Skill and Burst deal little to no damage, but consistent Dendro applicant to trigger other reactions. Her Burst's AoE is small though so enemies can easily get out from the AoE.

Support

Gorou
An exclusive Geo support and works exceptionally well in the Mono-Geo team. But that's what ranks him in A Tier, his team option is extremely limited. Personal damage from Elemental Skill and Burst is incredibly low, but obviously, because he's a support and his job is to make sure the main DPS is in tip-top condition and can deal out damage in his stead. He can get better with higher constellations.

Diona
Fully support kits that scale off HP, which makes her easy to build. Her Elemental Skill can generate lots of Particles, a strong shield, increase movement speed, and decrease stamina consumption. Equipped with Sacrificial Bow, she can be a great battery to Cryo DPS. Elemental Burst creates an AoE to heal teammates and deal continuous Cryo damage on opponents inside it. With C6, the cute bartender can even buff the team's Elemental Mastery with a loose condition.

Yun Jin
A Geo unit that works well even with a party that has various Elemental Types. While Elemental Skill does not provide any support, it allows her to recharge Elemental Burst where her true potential lies. Her Burst will boost party members' Normal Attack Damage based on her current Defense. The bonus is further increased when the party contains at most 4 different Elemental Types. If you get her C6, she can even boost Normal ATK SPD, which is exceptional for Normal ATK DPS like Yoimiya, Kazuha, Wanderer, etc.

Kujou Sara
Designed as an Electro support rather than a DPS, and requires a lot of energy for her Elemental Burst (on the bright side, her Burst also deals tons of damage). She is dependent on her constellations, but once at C6, an extremely great support for Electro DPS like Raiden Shogun and Yae Miko. Both Elemental Skill and Burst will provide an Attack bonus to the party members.

Yaoyao
In a way, budget Nahida plus healing. Her Elemental Skill deals off-field Dendro damage or healing the active character that has below 70% HP. However, Yuegui sometimes have a bad aim and the White Jade Radishes won't hit the enemies and just stay on the floor.
On the other hand, her Elemental Burst provides even more healing but at the cost of Yaoyao needs to be on the field for 5 seconds to fully take advantage of the Burst, but this will result in a DPS loss. One thing that people often miss, her Burst heals the whole party, not the active character only.

Charlotte
For a healer, she has a consistent Cryo application from her Elemental Skill - which helps in creating reactions. Honestly, she can be a Sub-DPS or a support unit depending on how you build her, she's versatile like that. Another universal healing like Yaoyao, but also has a small AoE so enemies have a high chance to get out from the AoE.

Main DPS

Yanfei
Consistent and strong Pyro damage with high base attack for a 4-star character, but low enough to be in the B Tier. As a catalyst, she can trigger elemental reaction easily, which helps in damage output. Normal and Charged Attacks are long-ranged and can lock on targets but Elemental Skill and Burst are short-ranged for enemies near her only. Since her main output is from Charged ATK, she consumes lots of stamina. But things would get easier if you get her C1.

Shikanoin Heizou
One of the rare Anemo characters that focuses on dealing damage rather than supporting the team. Normal Attack can rapidly apply Anemo to trigger elemental reactions. Elemental Skill can be charged to unleash burst-level damage, while Elemental Burst does ranged damage and light grouping. Not suitable as support because lack of a support kit and the gathering from Elemental Burst is lacking compared to Sucrose, another 4-star Anemo.

Klee
Elemental Skill and Burst can deal huge damage on enemies, especially with her high base attack, extra Pyro ascension stat, and catalyst-user that can inflict continuous Pyro element. But it can all go down to drain if she is not in range of her enemies, and that is fairly a tricky task to do considering she has a small build and consumes more stamina when sprinting.

Kaveh
In a way, budget Nilou with self-heal ability. His best team is Bloom-related team comps, although it is possible to insert him outside of Bloom teams so his Elemental Skill can instantly make the Dendro Cores explode (not really recommended). When in any Bloom team, he is definitely the DPS as his kit does not have any support ability. Although he has self-healing to tank Bloom Core explosion damage, that doesn't mean he doesn't need a healer.

Ningguang
Elemental Skill creates a Jade Screen that blocks active characters from ranged attacks. Characters that pass through the Jade Screen will gain a Geo damage bonus. While her Normal Attack is slow, she makes it up with a powerful damage multiplier from Star Jade/Charged Attack, in addition to the mini meteor shower from her Elemental Burst. Oh yes, her Auto-Target Normal Attacks are not great against multiple enemies.

Freminet
He can utilize Frozen, Shatter, and Superconduct depending on what builds you gave him. Even better, he can deal with both Physical and Cryo DMG simultaneously. That is also his downside as there is currently no support that could help with the pseudo-element.

Sub-DPS

Thoma
Less synergy with other teams except Mono-Pyro and Burgeon. Elemental Skill deals Pyro damage and creates a decent shield, while Elemental Burst will deal AoE damage periodically which is perfect for Burgeon. But it comes with a cost of high energy cost and needs the help of artifacts and weapon to take care of it.
Bonus: Exploration skill grants him a chance of scoring a double catch.

Kirara
Her Shield only lasts for a while but can be reinforced if a new one is created. Overall, she's decent with low constellations. But once she gains C4 or C6, Kirara gains more utility and gives bonuses that are beneficial for a lot of characters.
Bonus: Her exploration (Hold Elemental Skill to turn into Urgent Neko Parcel state) to scale cliffs easily.

Dendro Traveler
The best element for our Traveler since it has the better kits out of every other element. Great off-field Dendro applicant. Elemental Skill deals decent damage and energy, especially with a low cooldown. Elemental Burst needs lots of energy but is worth the price with the long-lasting off-field Dendro application.

Lynette
Not too shabby but not that great either. You can expect how mediocre she is for a free character. Like normal Anemo support, she provides support from Swirl reactions, mainly from her Elemental Burst that can stay on the field even when she's switched out.

Kaeya
Decent Physical DPS for the early game, but even better as Cryo sub-DPS in the end game as his Elemental Skill has short cooldowns, deals respectable damage, and generates Particles. Elemental Burst also stays on the field after being switched, allowing active characters to trigger elemental reactions easily.

Dehya
Most controversial character (?) in Genshin Impact. One of Dehya's main strengths is her ability to provide consistent off-field Pyro DMG that can be repositioned, in addition to her high base HP, making her a decent Pyro support. However, her DPS and Elemental Particle generation are below-average (especially with low investment). Even with high investment, she's not recommended to be the main DPS because of the below-average damage without buffs, especially with low constellations.

Lisa
Elemental Burst has a large AoE, long duration, decreases Defense resistance on enemies, and inflicts Electro to enemies even when switching characters, but requires a lot of energy. Elemental Skill took too long to charge, making her vulnerable to attacks. The damage is also relatively small unless highly invested in talents, artifacts, and weapons.

Support

Mika
Mika is explicitly for the Physical Team since his whole kit only provides support for said attacks. He can increase Movement SPD and Physical DMG Buff, at the cost of high Elemental Burst cost and long Elemental Skill cooldown. His kits are not very effective with low constellations, and his best stats are during C4 or C6. C4 grants him more Energy while C6 increases 60% Physical Crit DMG for the active character.

Sayu
Although the little ninja is an Anemo character, her kit is more of a healer than a crowd-control. Her Elemental Skill will let her roll in the area dealing Anemo damage and can be converted to other elements that she comes into contact with. Elemental Burst has a high cost but decent skills: either healing characters or attacking nearby opponents with Anemo damage.

Layla
Amazing uptime for both Elemental Skill and Burst, in addition to having a decent particle and low energy cost. Both skill and burst are scaled off her HP, making her easy to build. It is also capable of applying consistent Cryo when she's off-field while activating various support artifacts.

Main DPS

Razor
Specialized in Physical team with the help of Cryo character to proc Superconduct. His Elemental Skill helps in generating particles for his high energy cost Elemental Burst, which is his main damage output. Elemental Burst converts his Normal Attack to Electro damage, increasing Attack Speed and resistance to interruption, but lacking in AoE damage for a group of enemies.

Sub-DPS

Chongyun
Honestly, the little exorcist can be played as both Main DPS or Sub-DPS depending on your build. But he has a really slow Normal Attack even for a Claymore character. That's why he's in the Sub-DPS in the tier list.
As a sub-DPS, he shines in either the Freeze or Melt team. Not a bad character, but needs great teammates to support him or vice versa. He has a low Elemental Burst energy cost for quick swap Burst.

Xinyan
Elemental Skill provides a decent shield that gets better the more enemies she hits, and scales off her Defense which clashes with her ascension stats that provide Attack. Elemental Burst deals both Physical and Pyro damage, but the damage itself is mediocre.

Candace
The only character that provides Hydro infusion to Normal Damage for teammates after using Elemental Burst. But very little DPS can utilize the said skill.

Support

Qiqi
Our beloved zombie's Elemental Skill heals a great deal of HP to active characters while inflicting Cryo on nearby enemies even when switching characters. But the downside is it doesn't generate any Particle and has a long cooldown, which makes her less favorable than other Cryo characters. Elemental Burst also requires a lot of energy, even if it does not provide additional damage.

Barbara
A great support that provides a lot of healing and applying Hydro on enemies with her Elemental Skill, even when she's off-field. It comes with a cost of her providing nothing else other than healing and Hydro applications, in addition to constant Wet status on an active character that may be dangerous at times if enemies manage to proc elemental reactions. Her C6 is worth glancing over as she can revive downed teammates to 100% health; which is perfect for Spiral Abyss.

Electro Traveler
Both Elemental Skill and Burst are average, providing a decent amount of energy for teammates but dealing low damage to enemies. One great passive talent comes from C2 (which everyone can get) that decreases enemies' Electro RES after being hit by Falling Thunder.

Dori
Elemental Skill deals meager Electro damage but with considerably decent Particle with the support build. Elemental Burst heals teammates, continuously regenerates Energy, and affects enemies with Electro but only if the opponents are between the Jinni and active character which is a liability.

Main DPS

Aloy
As a welfare unit, she behaves like one where her overall kit is too average. Elemental Skill has a long duration, but her Burst does a respectable amount of damage if built properly.

Sub-DPS

Geo Traveler
Decent and spammable Elemental Skill and Burst. The former creates a Geo construct that is often used to block enemies' movement or attacks. Elemental Burst deals AoE Geo damage and Geo Construct that's better than Skill in terms of blocking attacks. Passive skill from C1 increases party members' Crit Rate within the radius of Geo Construct AoE from Elemental Burst.

Anemo Traveler
Useful for new players, but any other Anemo characters will surpass them. Elemental Skill deals decent Anemo damage and Swirl, but won't be able to move and be vulnerable when casting. Elemental Burst groups smaller enemies but pushes them far away, while ignoring the larger enemies.

Amber
Elemental Skill has a long cooldown and takes too long to explode, in addition to low damage output for both Skill and Burst. Triggering the explosion manually from Baron Bunny is not worth it either.

Hydro Traveler
The element that Traveler can't get hang to use so they can only release 2 dollars Neuvillette's Charged Attacks. Jokes aside, there's really nothing to use from Hydro Traveler's kits unless you're challenging yourself.

Remember that Honkai: Star Rail is a game where you need to take account of light cones, relics, eidolons, and team building.

Put them in any suitable team and they could demolish the difficult content quite easily.

SS Tier

Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae
Cooler Dan Heng is known for his overpowered Enhanced Basic ATK that deals damage to maximum of 3 enemies (Blast attacks). The downside is you'll need to sacrifice lots of SP points in return. You can either add characters that can save SP (like Tingyun or Ruan Mei) to his team so you can manage SP efficiently, or add Sparkle to the team so she can increase the maximum SP.

Jingliu
The ice queen (quite literally) gains a lot of Crit Rate and Crit DMG from her Talent and Traces, so investing in her to the maximum is such a huge win. Her normal Skill can deal damage to a single-target, but once she enters her enhanced state, not many enemies can survive her onslaught.

Bronya
A starter character that is valuable even in the end-game where she provides a huge Crit DMG buff to the whole party. In addition, you can cheat the game with Bronya's Skill as she can 100% advance a character's turn in the turn order.

Fu Xuan
Fu Xuan's shield take a unique form which is Matrix of Prescience, where she redirects DMG received from ally to herself. Not only that, she can also increase Crit Rate for the whole team and provide one Crowd Conrol debuff everytime she creates her Matrix. Once she absorbs too many damage until her HP get less than 50%, Fu Xuan will heal herself IF she has at last 1 trigger count from her Talent).
The downside is, it put her in an awkward position as she does not suit Preservation path in the Simulated Universe. It's a minor disadvantage anyway. But if you're wondering, she can synergize well with Destruction and Abundance blessings (Although it's better to focus on blessings for your DPS' path instead).

Huohuo
Since her healing is AoE (heal multiple party members instead of solo), it goes without saying her healing effectiveness on a single target is not as good as Luocha. That's why she may perform below expectation against enemies that deal huge single-target damage. But against enemies that mainly use AoE attacks (and debuffs), Huohuo is the best option ever with her off-field healing and dispelling debuffs.

Luocha
Great emergency healing from both Skill and Talent that makes it hard for your character to die (unless the enemy has a massive single-target damage). His Ultimate can also contribute to some damage as it will attack all enemies while also removing 1 buffs from them all. Definitely a great addition to encounter multiple enemies that has lots of buffs for themselves.

Ruan Mei
Lots of buffs packed in one a feeble scholar: All-Type RES PEN, Weakness Break Efficiency, DMG increased, and SPD. One skill usage can last for 3 turns, which make her the best option for team with SP-hungry DPS.
The best part is her Ultimate can delay an enemies' action that were affected by Thanatoplum Rebloom (read her Ultimate for more information) by a few turns. It's not much, but when you're in a pinch situation with limited rounds, those few turns could help you attain victory.

Silver Wolf
The great hacker's main potential is how she can apply a new type of Elemental Weakness to an enemy, which allow players to bring mono-elemental team. Unfortunately, said skill can only be applied to a single enemy and not every enemies on the field. Same can be said with her Ultimate, it can only debuff a single-target, but with a huge amount of DEF shreds. She is best brought against a boss instead of mob of enemies.

Sparkle
A game-changing support character where she will increase the max number of Skill Points by 2. It seems small in number, but it's actually a huge addition to the battle, especially if you use SP-hungry character like DHIL and Qingque.
In fact, she's great when paired with those SP-hungry character as she can provide DMG buff through SP consumption. The mischievous Masked Fool follower also has a similar skill to Bronya where she can advance an ally in the turn order (but Bronya is 100% while Sparkle is only 50%).

S Tier

Argenti
One of the best AoE DPS in the game where his Ultimate has 2 triggers depending on his Energy. Since he is an Erudition character, you know he's not suitable for single-boss type situation. But against mobs of enemy or an elite enemy/boss that can summon multiple underlings, he's the knight in shining armor (literally) that you'll want to bring.

Black Swan
If you're looking for a big Ultimate damage, Black Swan ain't the right choice. She is more of a DPS who specializes in stackable DoTs called "Arcana", which becomes stronger the more stacks an enemy has.
Those Arcana stacks can be added when herself or her party members inflict DoT on enemies. That's why she is suitable paired with other DoT DPS like Kafka. But once those Arcana deals damage to enemies, it's like setting off a nuclear bomb on the enemies.

Blade
Blade is one of the rare DPS who has self-sustaining skills that will heal himself after dealing damage (that also consumes his own HP). He is also very efficient in handling SP in the team so you will not struggle in managing the points unlike in other teams. Or you can just bring him along as Sub-DPS to other teams like Jingliu's team.

Clara
Svarog, the real DPS, rely on counterattacking to deal damage on the enemies. With Svarog's help, Clara will take less damage and can remove debuff on herself, which is helpful against enemies that often inflict debuff to your character.

Dr. Ratio
For a free 5-star character, he doesn't perform like one. Instead, this genius deals such a huge single-target damage that some players don't mind puling for his Eidolon because he's that strong. Of course, there's also some disadvantage such as his follow-up attack (main dish) can be activated more easily only if the enemy has a lot of debuffs (maximum 3 debuffs to get 100% chance to activate his follow-up attacks). But that is not such a hard thing to achieve.

Jing Yuan
King Yuan is another great Erudition character, but unlike Argenti, the general focuses more on his follow-up attack instead of Ultimate. The more Hits Per Action Lightning-Lord's has, the higher damage he will deal. When multiple enemies has a Lighting weakness, JY is such a great option.

Kafka
Kafka alone in the team may not provide a bombastic number against an enemy. But pair her up with another DoT damage dealer like Black Swan, Sampo, or Guinaifen to make the stage a colorful number of deaths (3 DoT in her team is also plausible if you want to).

Seele
She may be an old limited character, but she's still gold. Until now, Seele still deals an extremely huge single-target damage that does get better and better if you provide her with the best support (Tingyun or Bronya, etc). She also has a high base SPD, making her have an easy time to have numerous turns in battle. The best part is when she defeated an ally, she will gain an extra turn. This talent starts the whole 'unlimited/infinite turn Seele.'

Topaz & Numby
Topaz - or should we say Numby as it is the main DPS out of the two - is a strong follow-up attack Sub-DPS that can also acts as a support inside a team with follow-up attack DPS like Dr. Ratio. Her Skills allow a single enemy to be afflicted with Proof of Debt and this debuff will make the targeted enemy takes more follow-up attack damage.

Pela
Pela is another DEF shredder like Silver Wolf but her kits focused on multiple enemies instead of a single-target. Another advantage in bringing Pela is that she can remove an enemy buff using her skill. In short, she's a universal debuffer that suits most team and also F2P-friendly.

Tingyun
The best buffer for a 4-star character that can catch up to 5-star buffer. The downside is her Skill increase an ally's attack , not damage, so certain DPS may not be able to make use of said buffs like Blade (who focuses on HP stat).
Since she's a 4-star rarity, getting her Eidolons are not that hard and you can make her an even better support.

A Tier

Guinaifen
Another DoT damage dealer or debuffer specializing in burning enemies. She can also increase the DMG taken by multiple enemies affected by the Burn status.

Herta
A valuable free character that is a diamon in a rough. Her ability to deal AoE damage and performing follow-up attacks is extremely valuable in Pure Fiction mode where you will face multiple enemies in a single wave that keep spawning mobs. If you're facing rows of enemies, Herta is a great choice, but if you're battling a single boss, better not bring her along.

Himeko
Himeko is a bit similar to Jing Yuan where although they are Erudition by nature, they rely the most on their follow-up attacks to deal damages. Of course, her Skill and Ultimate is catered to deal with multiple enemies so you can expect her to be the best against loads of enemies (especially in Pure Fiction where she shines the most).

Hook
As the boss of The Moles, she loves to battle against another boss (single-target enemy). Her Skill can deal damage to a single enemy, but after using Ultimate, said Skill can hit adjacent enemies.

Qingque
For being a gambler, she can deal an extremely huge damage for a 4-star character, but that also depends on your luck to get the matching tiles to enter "Hidden Hand" state. If you're lucky and often get the matching tiles, or she can get the best blessings from Propagation path (in Simulated Universe), Qingque can hop to the upper tier list instead of A Tier.

Serval
A rare Erudition character that depend (a bit) on her DoT damage where she will inflict Shock to enemies, and prolong the DoT using her Ultimate. Once defeating an enemy, she will further increase her own attacks, making her damage higher further in the battle. Of course, this is mostly plausible when you're against multiple mobs and not bosses.

Xueyi
Unique playstyle where she relies on both follow-up attacks and Ultimate to dish out damage. The part where she is unique is how her Ultimate can deplete the enemy's Toughness bar whether or not they have a Quantum weakness.

Asta
The richest girl in Herta Space Station helps the team out in both offensive and supportive. Her Talent can provide lots of ATK buff while also make the Burning enemies take more Fire DMG. Her main kit is providing SPD buff to the team, which works especially great in a DoT team.

Bailu
While Bailu's healing skill is exceedingly normal for a 5-star character, she can do what no one can in the game; which is reviving a downed character. This is especially great for harder content like Forgotten Hall and Simulated Universe. Unfortunately, this talent can only be used one in a single battle (Unless you have E6 Bailu).

Gepard
Gepard is often overlooked for other healers since he can't heal the whole team. But what he can do is provide shields to the whole team and make enemies hit himself (higher chance) instead of other allies. His talent allow him to withstand a single knockdown and restore his energy to full. With the right build, you can refresh his Ultimate at the right times so the enemies won't be able to take a hit on your party.

Hanya
Hanya's unique kit is how she can recover 1 Skill Point after the team completing some requirements. Obviously, she also has skills that a buffer has; such as increasing DMG dealt on an enemy inflicted with Burden, and increasing the DPS and ATK for a single ally. She is best with a team who uses lots of SP.

Lynx
Her healing is subpar compared to 5-star healers (obviously), but what makes her a great option is (1) she's a free character, (2) she can cleanse debuff from the entire party, and (3) great in a team where Destruction is the DPS, especially one that wants to be hit so they can deal more damage (cough Blade cough). With so many new enemies that can inflict debuff on your party, Lynx is a force to be reckon with.

Welt
Welt is a debuffer while also being a Sub-DPS that can deal decent damage to enemies. His key skill is slowing enemies and delaying their turns using Ultimate. In addition to being slowed, those enemies will also takes more damage, what a flexible character.

B Tier

Dan Heng
A starter character with a decent (or above average with the best LC and Relics) damage output and can slow enemies through his Skill. His damage will rise even further against slowed enemies.

Luka
The boxing champion is a single-target DoT damage dealer while also inflicting Bleed to the enemy. His Ultimate can also increase the damage taken by the target. But since he's a hybrid of damage dealer and debuffer, his debuff is not as high as normal debuffer like Pela or Silver Wolf.

Misha
Misha is a DPS whose potential is locked behind his Ultimate. Said Ultimate gets stronger through Skill Point consumption (just like Jing Yuan and his Lightning-Lord), either by himself or other team members. His Ultimate deals quite a lot of damage, but it can be bounced to other enemies on the field.

Sampo
A hidden gem among the 4-star roster. Sampo is a DoT damage dealer like Luka, but he can deal AoE damage (more precisely, it will bounce to other enemies) and easily stack Wind Shear to them. The other party is in even more danger if its a boss and has a Wind weakness. His Ultimate also increases the enemies' DoT taken, which makes him a perfect supporter in DoT team.

Sushang
Sushang deals a high single-target damage for a 4-star character. She can deal even higher to an enemy that is currently affected by Weakness Break. With the addition of her E1, she can also helps the team to recover Skill Points.

Yanqing
Just like other 5-star DPS, Yanqing also deals a sum of damages with the help of his own offensive buffs. However, he needs to avoid taking DMG to keep his buff active and this is where everything goes downhill cause even if you have a shielder/character that has a high taunt, facing multiple enemies will undoubtedly increases the chance of him being attacked. That is why he is low on the list. But if you managed to make him invisible to enemies, the damage he dish out is worth the sacrifice.

March 7th
The cutest girl in the world focuses on providing a shield to an enemy while also counterattacking any enemy that attacks the shielded character. Unfortunately, you can't rely on her damage because the numbers are extremely low. But, you can rely on her Ultimate that can freeze all enemies, which may be valuable in Simulated Universe - Remembrance path.

Natasha
She is a healer everyone will get, and life-saver for new players who don't have other healers yet. Natasha can heal a single ally, remove one debuff, while also heal over time using her skill. Her Ultimate also heals the whole party. While she is a good option for beginner content, it may be hard to slot her in end-game content where enemies will deal AoE debuffs to your team, as Natasha can't keep up cleansing everyone since everyone wants to use SP.

Trailblazer (Fire)
Fire MC is a shielder that can taunt enemies and reduce incoming damage using their skill. By using Ultimate, they can create a shield for the whole team. Said Ultimate can also deal some damage based on their DEF, but don't expect the number to be high since they're a shielder, not a damage dealer here.

Yukong
For a supporting character, Yukong can deal some damage through her Ultimate. Unfortunately, she has a downside where you need to focus on properly tune her SPD so she can be in front of your DPS before using her Skill. This may not be the best character for beginner who is still getting the hang of the game's mechanic. But once you get the best Yukong build, she can give you ATK, Crit Rate, and Crit DMG buff for the team.

C Tier

Arlan
Similar to Blade, Arlan sacrifices his HP for damage (although he can't surpass Blade in any way and far inferior). The damage will be increased based on his missing HP. Although he has a self-sustain ability, that is only if (1) his HP is below 20% and (2) if he is the one defeating the enemy. That's a hard requirement to achieve as one wrong move can kill him. In the game where you can't evade enemies' attacks, kits like Arlan is hard to maneuver especially if your healer is slow in their turn.

Trailblazer (Physical)
Our initial element that deals physical DPS in both single target damage and Blast damage. They can give themselves offensive buffs (ATK bonus) during battle if they inflict Weakness Break and heal the party using their Technique before the battle. Although we don't really have a use for the Technique since Space Anchor exists.

Warcraft Rumble Season 4 Patch Notes – Not Much to See Yet Again https://dotgg.gg/warcraft-rumble-season-4/ Wed, 06 Mar 2024 04:01:42 +0000 https://dotgg.gg/?p=17489 Is this a sign of a dying game and a failed Blizzard mobile game?

The post Warcraft Rumble Season 4 Patch Notes – Not Much to See Yet Again appeared first on DotGG.

]]>
Blizzard's latest entry into the mobile gaming market - Warcraft Rumble - is already on its fourth season since its global release on November 3, 2023. A game quite similar to Clash Royale, its development journey so far has not exactly been pleasant to follow for its players. Where will the future of the game hold? Let's find out!

What is Warcraft Rumble?

Warcraft Arclight Rumble Key Art

Let's start from the beginning, just briefly. You can skip this section if you are already familiar with the game.

Warcraft Rumble, was originally titled Warcraft Arclight Rumble and first revealed all the way back in May 2022. Since then, it has been in soft launch under a limited number of regions, has undergone a complete reset, shortened its title to just Warcraft Rumble and finally released globally on November 3, 2023.

As a Blizzard title, it was bound to get a lot of attention. Like Diablo Immortal, Warcraft Rumble wanted to emulate its massive financial success but was always going to be scrutinized by gamers with their free-to-play monetization model, typical of mobile games.

Unlike Diablo Immortal however, Warcraft Rumble since its release has been mired with development troubles and lack of content. So what's happening?

Gaming Industry Layoffs

Back in January 26, 2024, it has been reported that Microsoft is laying off 1,900 employees at Activision Blizzard and Xbox, joining many other companies that are currently doing to same (which also includes the giant Riot Games).

We don't know the extent that this has impacted the current Warcraft Rumble team, but since its global release, it does not look to be smooth sailing at all.

Major Bugs, Issues, and Delayed New Content

Warcraft Rumble launched globally at the same time as BlizzCon 2023, where it was announced to the world. The game's panel had some information on what's to come:

Raids, a co-op mode that requires at least level 26 units to participate.

The Scholomance dungeon featuring Jandice Barov, Rattlegore, and Darkmaster Gandling.

The final campaign zone, Moonglade featuring bosses are Brightwing, Brumera, Ysera, and Cenarius.

Unfortunately, none of these have come to fruition quite yet with no further news since then. Other than minor unit balances, one new unit per season (every 6 weeks), oh, and a new icon clearly changed in an attempt to attract more players - what's been happening?

Since the game's launch, numerous bugs and game loading issues have prevented players from enjoying the game fully. The worst of the issue was the "infinite Gold" exploit, where some players could farm the most valuable currency in the game for hours on end.

The fiasco ended with compensation for all players and taking back the Gold from those that exploited the bug.

With that, the communication between the community has been mostly reduced to lacklustre patch notes (that have been a few days late at times). Another minor point to add: Season 4 was originally announced to be the Faerie Dragon as the new unit, but has been changed to the Witch Doctor. You can take a look at the Season 4 overview and the patch notes below.

Monetization and Sensor Tower Data

Of course, there is no exact way of telling how the game is doing currently after all that. Warcraft Rumble's monetization depends heavily on the typical mobile free to play experience - pay to speed up your progress because leveling up gets exponentially harder. While there are numerous bundles that cycle throughout a player's shop, the Arclight Booster is something a bit more unique to Warcraft Rumble.

For $19.99 USD equivalent, you get extra Gold for everything you do in-game forever. You can even buy it retroactively. Some players also say the cost of the game is essentially $19.99 because it takes a lot of Gold to level up your army and progress in a satisfying manner.

Warcraft Rumble's data in February 2024 according to Sensor Tower has revealed it had around 140,000 downloads and made around $2 million across iOS and Android. This is compared to approximately 500,000 downloads and $4 million in January 2024!

Even if these numbers are estimates of the in-app purchases, they are known to be fairly accurate. Here's a good breakdown from Old Guardian about this topic:

Conclusion

Season 4 brings some bonuses to in-game rewards, one new unit, no balance changes to note, and no other words on further game improvements. This has been the case for every season up until now - putting out fires for big issues, as the content of the game becomes further and further away. Many players have now hit a bottleneck in terms of their progress as well. This means the only thing left is PvP, which has many things to be desired in terms of balance and rewards, or the final stages of the single player campaign where unit levels need to be quite high, and takes a very long time without paying.

So in conclusion, it looks like the timing of Warcraft Rumble did not align with the current landscape of mobile gaming, nor did it deliver quality to players that gave it a shot. Compounded with lack of resources, income, and active promotion from Blizzard, a potential scenario would mean that the game will fail to attract more (paying) players and will be a vicious cycle until its eventual end of service.

For transparency, our in-depth coverage of Warcraft Rumble is currently on hiatus for the foreseeable future.

Last week, a McDonald's Happy Meal Toys campaign was launched without much fanfare but fans were hopeful that something was coming soon - and indeed, it seems to be that way with a cryptic Tweet and updates pushed to Steam!

Steam Updates

Astute players have found some mysterious updates being pushed on Steam and predicted something might happen soon like the Open Beta. And then...

MultiVersus Social Media Posts

The MultiVersus social media channels broke their silence at last!

Here are some more Tweets from people in the know:

Social Media Profile Pictures

Further clues to upcoming news is that the usual orange social media profile pictures are changing to blue:

r/MultiVersus

Conclusion

Whatever happens will be big news for the community waiting for the game and willing to give it a second chance. Warner Bros. Games has also recently stated they will be doubling down on live service games despite recent troubled releases such as Suicide Squad failing to meet expectations. This does bode well for the future and security of the game, at least for now!

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Announced https://dotgg.gg/pokemon-trading-card-game-pocket-announced/ Tue, 05 Mar 2024 11:58:47 +0000 https://dotgg.gg/?p=17371 Is this Pokémon's answer to Marvel Snap and their mobile presence?

The post Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Announced appeared first on DotGG.

]]>
During this year's Pokémon Day 2024 Pokémon Presents, a new digital card game for Pokémon has been announced - what is it all about? Let's find out!

What is Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket?

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket will be an upcoming game specifically for mobile (iOS and Android) devices from Creatures Inc., the original developers of the Pokémon TCG, and DeNA Co., Ltd. set for release some time in 2024.

Debuting in October 1996, the original Pokémon Trading Card Game has been one of the most popular card games in the world, with a competitive circuit and collectors exploding since the 2020 pandemic. Players are able to collect cards featuring their favorite Pokémon characters, build powerful decks, and face off against opponents in strategic battles.

Why is the announcement of Pocket significant? According to the announcement, the rules of the original Pokémon Trading Card Game will be streamlined for quick battles, specifically for mobile gamers. You can see on the video there is an Energy Zone, which you can perhaps use all in one go to make some big plays!

What About Pokémon TCG Live?

It is important to note that Pokémon TCG already has a PC and mobile client, called Pokémon TCG Live - which took over from Pokémon TCG Online some time ago with a new developer. The game can be considered catered towards players who own the physical cards, rather than the other way around.

Furthermore, Live is faithful to the real version of the game, like MTGO is for Magic: The Gathering. Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is expected to have its own unique set of cards that are legal for play, like MTG Arena has digital-only formats for Magic: The Gathering.

It is also important to note that Live is not available in Japan either, but Pocket will be global.

What Does the Game Economy Look Like?

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket seems to be the answer to enter into the lucrative mobile game market. Unlike Pokémon TCG Live, which cards are primarily obtained from codes opened from physical products, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket aims to be completely monetized through traditional digital methods (i.e. microtransactions).

Both games targeting different players, this can be considered analogous to the Yu-Gi-Oh! mobile games - Master Duel and Duel Links for example. In Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, you will be able to open two booster packs each day for free. Apparently, it will also allow trading between players - which will be interesting to see how it works out.

As a completely separate standalone game, it is unlikely you will be able to use any code cards from outside the mobile game.

Immersive Cards

Immersive cards are a type of special cards that will be featured in Pocket, and it looks like they will be going all in on making cards look pretty and desirable!

Conclusion

Pokémon Trading Card Game is making its big move into the digital mobile card game market, and the intellectual property is too strong to ignore. The developers DeNA are not amateurs in the industry, so it should be initially successful.

Could it compete with Marvel Snap or Hearthstone, that is dominating the scene at the moment? On the other hand, a bunch of other digital card games have failed to reach the success it needs to continue - such as DC Dual Force and Legends of Runeterra that has announced their end not too long ago. There are also Gwent, Artifact, and even more card games that are practically on maintenance mode and stopped active development.

Trading is one thing that makes us think however, as we know players (and bots) can make new accounts to get free rewards - but perhaps a bit of playing time will be required to do so, or will be severely limited (as on the video claims "with friends"). Even then, this might create an interesting secondary market on its own.

Regardless, we will keep you posted as more information starts rolling in!

ASTRA: Knights of Veda is now available for pre-registration for its global release. Titled Dragon Blaze 2 (별이 되어라2) in the South Korean version, its global release is set for April 2, 2024. Let's find out more!

About ASTRA: Knights of Veda

ASTRA: Knights of Veda is a side scrolling action RPG, a mash up of Dungeon Fighter Online and Genshin Impact. In 2023, it held its global beta testing phase and is preparing its full release. This is a good video demonstrating the gameplay from the beta.

Also known as Dragon Blaze 2 in the Korean version of the game (별이 되어라2), if you are familiar with mobile games back in the days, Dragon Blaze was a popular idle RPG game published by Gamevil. This is a prequel from the same developer but the games are nothing alike, other than the graphic style.

About HYBE IM

HYBE IM is a branch of Hybe Corporation, the South Korean entertainment company behind the world famous K-Pop group BTS, Seventeen, and more. As a group they have other published games such as BTS Island and Rhythm Hive, but ASTRA: Knights of Veda will be their first foray into a global fantasy game.

Indeed, they are utilizing their stars to market the game further.

Pre-registration Details

The game will be available for pre-registration and download on PC, Steam, Google Play and the Apple App Store. The expected release date is listed as April 2, 2024. You can also pre-register on the official website and receive corresponding rewards.

Richard Garfield, the famous creator of Magic: The Gathering and numerous other titles since then, is collaborating with Bandai to bring Sand Land Tactical Card Battle! This will be a new card game based on Akira Toriyama's manga Sand Land, that first debuted all the way back in year 2000. Here's everything we know about the game so far!

What is Sand Land?

Sand Land Manga Cover

Sand Land is a manga created by Akira Toriyama, the author of other popular series such as Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump. Published as a single volume comic via Weekly Shonen Jump in 2000, it is making a return in 2024 with a new story! Sand Land will have a new card game (the one we're going to talk about now), anime on streaming platforms, and even an action RPG video game releasing in April 26, 2024.

What is Sand Land Tactical Card Battle?

Sand Land Tactical Card Battle will involve strategic battles using 8 versus 8 assets, challenging both your deckbuilding and strategic capabilities.

However, this is not a trading card game in a traditional sense, where players buy booster packs to get more powerful cards and make more powerful decks. Similar to buying starter decks in similar card games or a board game, players only need to purchase one deck to start playing.

The random collection aspect of the game will come from the product itself, which will contain one of 10 different deck "patterns" or themes, featuring the major characters of the series.

Most surprising of all, the most famous creator of card games - Richard Garfield - will be designing the game his first game with Bandai! Here's what he has to say:

Purchase and Release Information

Sand Land Tactical Card Battle will be available for early purchase at Gen Con 2024, held between August 1st to 4th.

Final release date is yet to be confirmed.

Conclusion

Bandai is expanding its card game portfolio quickly, following their huge success with One Piece Card Game and its recent release of the new version of Dragon Ball Super Card Game - Fusion World. However, its demand has been quickly outpacing the supply, making it a struggle for many players worldwide to even get a hold of the cards at a reasonable price.

With Sand Land Tactical Card Battle however, it should be a different story where competitive play is unlikely to be involved, unless it becomes a major collector's item.

We will see how it all unfold, as more information starts rolling in!

miHoYo's next upcoming game, Zenless Zone Zero, is now available for pre-order in China, and its release date was revealed? Could this game have a staggered global release date? Let's find out!

Zenless Zone Zero Release Date in April 2024?

Zenless Zone Zero Pre-Order China Full

According to the pre-order screen, Zenless Zone Zero will be available sometime in April 2024. However, miHoYo's recent games such as Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail has been released in all regions at the same time.

This doesn't necessarily mean the game will be released so soon. Many games do staggered releases in different regions - whether it be first in their local region, or soft launch under testing regions (starting with Australia, South East Asia, and so on).

Given Zenless Zone Zero's Equalizing Test ended very recently in December 2023, so players may find it hard to believe the game is ready for full release in such a short span of time.

Conclusion

miHoYo's games have been very successful so far, and they are looking to expand to other genres such as simulation games akin to Animal Crossing.

It will be interesting to see how successful Zenless Zone Zero will be following the massive success of Honkai: Star Rail and the mixed feedback from the Equalizing Test.

MultiVersus, the free-to-play crossover fighting game was released with a lot of fanfare as Open Beta in 2022. However, troubled development and player feedback led to the game closed in June 2023, with a view to a rerelease in "early 2024".

Well, that time has come, and has been no further news regarding the game's progress since, other than a brief happy holiday message in December 2023. Despite that, a promotion of its McDonald's Happy Meal Toys are now out with the original characters in Open Beta - is this intentional, or is the game set to return soon? Let's find out!

MultiVersus Match-ups

The Happy Meal Toy is now out, cards of the MultiVersus characters:

That in itself is fine (though underwhelming), but are there any further news of the game to follow this promotion up?

MultiVersus News

Unfortunately, there are no other news of the game so far in 2024. This is indeed a worrying sign for the game, despite having a playable game and previously announced release date.

Currently, the gaming industry is turbulent and undergoing a lot of layoffs, including Riot Games. Warner Bros. Games has also had very disappointing game releases, such as the highly anticipated Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.

If the game is indeed discontinued, this will be severely disappointing for fans looking for a good online fighting game who also spent money on the game during the Open Beta.

Conclusion

This mishap in MultiVersus's marketing promotion has us baffled and does not bode well for the future of the game overall.

Let us know what you think the fate of the game will be in the comments below!

miHoYo, the game developer behind the massively popular giant gacha games Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, is possibly on course for another hit release that mimics similar simulation games of its genre such as Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, and Stardew Valley.

With Zenless Zone Zero the next major title still yet to be released, some astute players have managed scour some information related to this new mysterious game!

Before you view the content below, remember: These are unofficial, unconfirmed leaks from a third party source so view at your own risk!

Leaks From 2023

In 2023, some leakers have managed to find some information related to the game, such as sipsipstefen and stepleaker (and their accounts on Twitter now suspended!). Its codename was apparently "HYG" and apparently some character design sheets and early in-game footage were leaked by them.

More Information in 2024

Since then, on February 2nd miHoYo registered a new Chinese trademark under the name of "XinBuGuDi (星布谷地)", directly translates to "Starry Sky Valley" in English.

A Bilibili and Weibo account with the same name has also been registered, with its IP address originating from Shanghai.

Conclusion

All this information leads to the speculation that the previously leaked simulation management game in 2023 is set to be revealed to the public soon and miHoYo is looking to dominate the niche. We'll find out in due course!

Trailer

New Features for Card Battles

In Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond, basic rules such as deck building and card types will remain the same as the original Shadowverse, while new features will also be added to make the card battles even more intense.

Super Evolution

Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond will be introducing a new mechanic called Super Evolution. Just like in the original game, a follower can be evolved starting on the second player's 4th turn by expending Evolution Points (EP).

Super Evolution will be available at the start of the second player's 6th turn. Up to 2 remaining EP will be turned into SEP (super evolution points) that players can use to super-evolve a follower. To compensate, the number of EP a player will have is also increasing. The first player will have 3 EP, and the second player will have 4 EP.

Super-Evolve Abilities

These abilities will trigger when the follower in question super-evolves.

They're powerful and have a lot of influence over the outcome of a battle. Also, if you super-evolve a follower that has both an evolve ability and a super-evolve ability, both abilities will activate simultaneously.

Engage

Several new abilities and rules will be added to battles and Engage is one of them.

Engage is a mechanic that works with amulets. Once an amulet has been played, a player can press its Engage button at any time on their turn to activate that amulet's ability.

Classes

In Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond, you build a deck by using cards of any given class along with Neutral cards, just like in the original game. Changes include the addition of the Abysscraft class, which combines the characteristics of and replaces Shadowcraft and Bloodcraft.

New Characters

Here are two characters that will be making their debut in the main story of Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond, alongside other new main characters.

Dreizehn (Portalcraft)
Lovesign (Forestcraft)

World Feature

In Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond, players can have various real-time interactions in a virtual space connected with other players.

Players will appear in a 3D space and will be able to move around freely in-game using their own custom-made avatars. There are a wide variety of customizable avatars, and sets will be made available which will allow players to dress up with the costumes and hairstyles of popular characters.

This virtual lobby will allow players to compete with each other and will also be a space where events are held. Additionally, an exclusive area where guild members can gather together, as well as personal rooms that players can edit and invite their friends to, will also be implemented.

These worlds will also feature other games besides card battles. In addition to allowing players to play together in a variety of ways, we are also considering implementing a system that will allow players to obtain items and rewards that can be used in card battles.

Tournament Events

With the release of the new game, we plan on shifting competitive events from Shadowverse to Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond.

We will announce the timing of the switch at a later date, but we plan to continue running various competitions for Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond. Everything from our large-scale RAGE events to online tournaments. We're hard at work to organize tournaments overseas as well, so please keep an eye out for that.

Shadowverse World Championship

Up until now, we have held the tournaments Shadowverse World Grand Prix and Shadowverse Invitational in order to determine champions on a yearly basis, but we will now instead be holding the Shadowverse World Championship in early 2025.

The World Championship is an event where top players who have excelled in competitions all over the world are invited to compete with each other and the winner will receive a cash prize of 10 million JPY and a special Shadowverse: Evolve card.

Qualifying for the World Championship

Below are the competitions and regions which will allow players to qualify for the World Championship:

 • RAGE Shadowverse (8 slots)
 • RAGE Shadowverse Pro Tour (3 slots)
 • Shadowverse NetEase Championship (4 slots)
 • Shadowverse Korea Open (2 slots)
 • Shadowverse Taiwan Open (2 slots)
 • Shadowverse Open West/SEAO (3 slots)
 • Wild Card (2 slots)

Players who excel in these competitions can qualify for the World Championship. Wild Card details will be announced at a later date.

Players can also qualify for the World Championship by ranking high in RAGE Shadowverse 2024 Spring, as well as other competitions centered on the original game and not Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond. In addition, all RAGE tournaments scheduled for 2024 will be open to all players inside and outside of Japan.

We hope that players from all over the world will take part in RAGE in order to qualify for the World Championship and continue to support official Shadowverse competitions.

Shadowverse Roadmap

The current Shadowverse game will continue its service in parallel with Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond. In addition, players will be able to link Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond to Shadowverse and earn in-game items based on their Shadowverse account as a reward for playing the original. Doing so will also unlock the battle record function.

Examples:

 • Grand Master card sleeves
 • In-game items based on rankings and tournament prizes
 • In-game items based on owned leaders
 • Battle record function for Shadowverse

In addition to the above, Cygames are planning to prepare other elements and rewards that can be earned through linking game data. More information to follow!

Wizards of the Coast ran the Magic Invitational tournament from 1997 to 2007 where the winner was allowed to design a Magic: The Gathering card with their likeness as the illustration. Starting with Throne of Eldraine, the current World Champion has been featured in a new Player Spotlight card each year.

Unlike the previous program, the players won't contribute to its design, but they can consult with Wizards of the Coast's R&D on its selection and will be immortalized in the art. The most recent card to be released was Nathan Steuer's Duelist of the Mind card to be released in the upcoming Outlaws of Thunder Junction expansion!

Below is the current list of all World Champions and their cards, with pictures for side by side comparisons! Take note, there was no World Championship in 2020 due to the global pandemic.

Javier Dominguez - Fervent Champion

A solid one drop that has seen a lot of play in various formats, the first World Champion card started off the Mono Red Aggro meta.

One of the best Magic: The Gathering players of all time, PVDDR's card was also a solid meta staple during its time in Standard. These days, it is rarely played in some Legacy and Pioneer decks.

Another disruptive flying creature card became the next World Champion card, that is still seeing play to this day across multiple formats, primarily in Standard.

Another flying Blue creature card that can grow big, it utilizes Outlaws of Thunder Junction's expansion keyword "commit a crime": Whenever you cast a spell or activate an ability that targets an opponent, or something they own (spells, permanents, hand, library, graveyard) you are committing a 'crime'.

Each year, Magic: The Gathering holds its largest tournament to round up the season - the Magic World Championship series. The winner gets their likeness eternalized on a card, and even contributes to the design of the card itself!

The champion for the 2022 edition was Nathan Steuer, and his card, Duelist of the Mind, was revealed today to be included in the Outlaws of Thunder Junction expansion coming on April 12, 2024.

Last Epoch 1.0 is officially launching on February 21, 2024! Some players may have tried the main story campaign and its associated side quests already during the game's 5-year long Early Access status. If you want to get some tips and find out the optimal route to speedrun your first new character in the new Cycle (season), we have two guides sourced for you.

Remember, the story remains unfinished with the release of version 1.0 and is planned to be completed over several major patches. Some details may change with the release of 1.0.

The first one is a guide by DrExpress based on the video by Zizaran (featuring Terek)! It takes you through all available nine chapters of the campaign and is recommended for new players.

The second one is by Bina from their Master Spreadsheet (which also has an alternative classic run that goes into more of the campaign), which skips a chunk of the campaign and aims to unlock Passives, Idols, Attributes and Faction as soon as possible.

 • Start: February 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM PST
 • End: February 22, 2024 @ 2:00 PM PST

Here are 6 decklists crafted for this event that you can use, so you can grab those wins painlessly! We also have two budget decks you can use as well, as we don't generally recommend that you use Wildcards specifically just for this event.
