The Archer, a long ranged staple in fantasy adventures, is a very strong discipline in Dragon's Dogma 2 thanks to their ability to deal very high damage from a safe distance. They also have incredibly powerful skills that can make use of many situations, and are able to aim for more precise targeting. This best archer skills guide goes over all active skills, when to use them, and my overall thoughts on their effectiveness and rather or not you should spend the Dcp on them.

Weapon Skills

Barrage Shot / Manifold Shot

  • Fires a loaded arrow that adheres to foes or terrain. The arrow will burst when attacked or after a time, and can knock targets off balance.
  • The advanced skill Manifold Shot fires a greater number of arrows.
  • This is a good starter skill for archers, but will be quickly replaced by skills learned the further along the discipline.

Sweep Shot / Cascade Shot

  • Fires arrows in a wedge pattern, allowing multiple targets to be struck simultaneously. Can be employed while moving.
  • The advanced skill Cascade Shot fires a greater number of arrows.
  • This skill provides Archer a reliable source of AOE damage when dealing with trash mobs, but not ideal if you're going on a boss hunt, unless the target has multiple weak points spread across it's body.

Dire Arrow / Deathly Arrow

  • Fires a devastating shot that knocks down smaller targets. When using Steady Shot (r1), arrows become even more powerful if they are loosed the instant the bow is fully drawn.
  • The advanced skill Deathly Arrow inflicts greater harm and has the ability to pin smaller targets to wall.
  • This will be the Archer's most powerful skill until an even stronger version of it in the form of Heavenly Arrow is unlocked.
  • While weaker than Heavenly Arrow, it is also much faster, leaving you in less danger from a charging foe.

Keen Sight / Lyncean Sight

  • Special sight augments the user's vision while drawing, allowing them to fire on distant targets. Consumes Stamina while the bow is drawn.
  • The advanced skill Lyncean Sight stabilizes the user's vision and consumes less Stamina.
  • This is a decent skill that allows you to more easily shoot targets at a far distant, and allows you to auto aim from a far greater distance as well. I would not recommend this skill unless you plan to play as a sniper while your pawns are attracting all of the aggro.

Torrent Shot / Tempest Shot

  • Fires multiple arrows in rapid succession. Rate of fire increases with consecutive shots. Prevents movement while active.
  • The advanced skill Tempest Shot fires a greater number of arrows.
  • A fun and super powerful ability that allows you to quickly rain down high DPS on your opponents. Best used on a stunned foe and aimed directly at their vital spot in order to deal exceptional damage.

Whirling Arrow / Spiral Arrow

  • Fires a powerful spinning arrow that delivers a barrage of hits. Effective at overwhelming smaller targets. Can be employed while moving.
  • The advanced skill Spiral Arrow appends still more strikes to the barrage.
  • This is a great DoT skill that can be shot while moving, allowing Archer to constantly apply damage outside of their normal shots relatively safely. It is also very useful for striking vital points on a moving target as it constantly hits the weak point without needing to adjust your aim.

Exploding Shot / Erupting Shot

  • Fires a loaded arrow that adheres to foes or terrain. The arrow will burst when attacked or after a time, and can knock targets off balance.
  • The advanced skill Erupting Shot shoots with increased arrow speed. If employed while clinging to a target, the user pierces the target wit the explosive arrow directly.
  • This provides a powerful blast AOE for the archer at the cost of special arrows, and is also good at knocking creatures over when they are in the tumbling phase, giving the Archer a quick stagger option.

Tarring Shots / Incendiary Shot

  • Fires a loaded arrow that adheres to foes or terrain. Explodes after a time or if attacked, tarring the target and those who draw near. Usable only when carrying an applicable arrow.
  • The advanced skill Incendiary Shot shoots with increased arrow speed. If employed while clinging to a target, the user pierces the target with the tarring arrow directly.
  • This skill coats enemies in tar, which boosts the effects of fire damage, so if you're travelling with allies that have the ability to dish out heavy fire damage, bringing this along is recommended if you'd prefer to play a support role.

Drenching Shot / Deluging Shot

  • Fires a loaded arrow that adheres to foes or terrain. Explodes after a time or if attacked, drenching the target and those who draw near. Usable only when carrying an applicable arrow.
  • The advanced skill Deluging Shot shoots with increased arrow speed. If employed while clinging to a target, the user pierces the target with the drenching arrow directly.
  • This skill coats enemies in water, which boosts the effects of lightning damage, so if you're travelling with allies that have the ability to dish out heavy lightning damage, bringing this along is recommended if you'd prefer to play a support role.

Blighting Shot / Nocuous Shot

  • Fires a loaded arrow that adds to the target's blighted value on impact. Usable only when carrying an applicable arrow.
  • The advanced skill Nocuous Shot shoots with increased arrow speed. If employed while clinging to a target, the user pierces the target with the blighting arrow directly.
  • This applies blight, or poison, to the target, giving you reliable DoT atop of all other damage you can deal as an Archer. If your foe is weak or vulnerable to blight, this is highly recommended.

Heavenly Shot

  • Fires an almighty arrow in exchange for consuming all of the user's Stamina. The arrow's potency is determined by the user's remaining Stamina when it is loosed.
  • The Archers ultimate "masiter" skill. This deals an incredible amount of damage when a full stamina bar is used, and it scales based on total stamina, so if you have stamina boosting items or augments, you'll deal even more damage. Can often one shot weaker foes if aimed at a vital spot.

Core Skills

These are key skills that don't take up any slots and that should be unlocked as soon as they are available, as they make the archer not only more mobile, but able to deal more damage overall.

Leaping Punt

  • Delivers a weighty kick that can knock foes off balance. Launches the user backward after it connects.
  • A great ability that allows you to not only deal decent damage, but get away from a foe that is a tad too close for comfort.

Parting Shot

  • Fires an arrow while jumping back after performing a Leaping Punt or mid-air Front Kick.
  • Allows you to deal additional damage after the kick, especially useful after using Leaping Punt.

Swift Nock

  • Enables the user to nock arrows more quickly when using Loose or Steady Shot
  • A straightforward damage boost by allowing Archer to fire more quickly.

Puncture Dart

  • Draws the bowstring to its absolute limit before firing. Makes aiming more difficult, but allows arrows to pierce targets with greater impact.
  • This gives the archer the ability to pierce foes without the use of weapon skills, and foes often time line up more often than you think, making this useful.

Augments

  • Ambuscade - Increases damage dealt by your attacks when targets are not in battle stance. This is useful if you're playing a more stealth archer role, or going for long ranged vital shots with the help of Keen Eye. This augment also goes well with other stealth disciplines like the Thief.
  • Endurance - Increases maximum stamina. A must have augment for any class as stamina amounts to how much damage you can deal, the amount of time you can grip, as well as dashing.
  • Radiance - Causes your lantern to consume less oil and illuminate a wider area. A useful utility augment, but not a must have by any means.
  • Lethality - Increases damage dealt when striking a target's vitals. A must have augment for Archer as you will be constantly aiming at enemy weak points to deal the most damage with your skills regardless.
  • Avidity - Enables you yo clamber up cliffs and scale foes and other surfaces more quickly. A great mobility augment for just about all classes. With archer, you want to be mobile in order to avoid the enemies ire.

What to spend Dcp on / Priority

For Archer, first focus on unlocking whatever Core Skill you are able to at the level you're currently on. After this, focus on your important augments: Endurance and Lethality. Afterwards, if you want to play a pure offense archer, then Cascade Shot, Tempest Shot, Spiral Arrow, and Blighting Arrow are must haves. If you prefer the support role, focus your efforts on Lyncean Sight, Tarring Shot, Exploding Shot, and Drenching Shot. Any left over points should be spent on how you see fit.

Tier List Explanation

  • S Tier: These resonators are currently the best in their perspective roles, and or provide game changing effects that will help you have an easier time, such as shielding or enemy grouping.
  • A Tier: These are very good characters who are only slightly outclassed by those in S tier
  • B Tier: These are good characters, but have something lacking, be it mobility or skills, that prevent them from being in A or S tier.

S Tier

Calcharo

  • Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Element: Electro
  • Role: DPS
  • Weapon: Broadblade

  • Weapon: Broadblade

Taoqi

  • Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Element: Havoc
  • Role: Support
  • Weapon: Broadblade

Taoqi is currently the only character that can provide shields, making her a fantastic pick for damage mitigation. Also, her parry timing on her heavy attack is very forgiving, making her relatively easy to play, as well. She scales with Defense, making her a natural tank, as well.

Jianxin

  • Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Element: Aero
  • Role: Parry
  • Weapon: Gauntlets

Jianxin, with her Resonance Liberation, has the ability to group up enemies, making it so that your DPS character has a much easier time clearing out rooms. This will come in handy for time attack challenges, as well as general crowd control. Think of Venti in Genshin Impact at launch and how top tier he was.

Lingyang

  • Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Element: Glacio
  • Role: DPS
  • Weapon: Gauntlets

A Tier

Verina

  • Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mortefi

  • Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Element: Fusion
  • Role: Damage Support
  • Weapon: Pistol

Similar to Xinqiu in Genshin Impact, his Resonance Liberation applies damage amplification to everyone else on the team by providing extra fusion damage per attack for as long as Burning Rhapsody is up, which at base, is 15 seconds long.

Chixia

  • Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Element: Fusion
  • Role: DPS
  • Weapon: Pistol

Aalto

  • Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Element: Aero
  • Role: DPS
  • Weapon: Pistol

B Tier

Rover

  • Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Element: Spectro
  • Role: DPS
  • Weapon: Sword

Baizhi

  • Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Element: Aero
  • Role: DPS
  • Weapon: Sword

Yuanwu

  • Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Element: Electro
  • Role: DPS
  • Weapon: Gauntlets

Sanhua

  • Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Element: Glacio
  • Role: DPS
  • Weapon: Sword

While she deals decent ice burst damage, Sanhua main source of damage comes from charging her hit, but this makes her very vulnerable, since if you dodge out of the attack, her attack gets reset, thus minimizing her overall DPS by a lot as unless she is shielded, you will want to be constantly dodging out of enemy attacks. So her attack speed limits her ability here.

Update / Change Log

Updates / changes to the tier list will go here, as well as brief explanations. Usually as gacha games get older and get more updates, power-creep is introduced, causing characters to move down the list in order to make new characters more appealing, so expect the same here.

Overview

Vane, the vice-captain of Feendrache's Order of the White Dragons, is an ice element tank who is not only capable of dealing massive amounts of damage, but is also the only character that is consistently able to have him and his team completely ignore mechanics of a boss with his Rampart ability. His main damage comes from combo finishers, and his triangle attack has unique properties in that is heals Vane per hit, and where if he collides with an enemies attack, he will block and ignore the attack, allowing him to unga bunga and keep on the offensive. As he has a lot of self healing in his kit, and the ability to give himself hostility, he makes an excellent tank, outside of his ability to shield his team.

Gameplay

Vane has a unique Beatdown meter where landing combo finishers and link attacks fill up this bar, allowing him to deal a powerful triangle combo if the bar is completely full. While it may seem like the most damage would come from pulling off this full combo, it is in fact not; as not only does it take a while to pull off, but you should focus on exhausting your skill cooldowns that lead into combo finishers instead, as that leads to dealing the most damage. Not only that, but with his unique sigil Hero's Will, every combo finisher lower's Vane's skill cooldowns, and the best combo that leads to the most combo finishers is the square, square, triangle, triangle combo, as it counts as two combo finishers. Below is a simple gameplay demonstration of Vane's damage rotation, while not optimal, it should give you a solid idea of how to play him:

You should still weave in triangle attacks from time to time as it heals Vane and can block enemy attacks, but focus on building fast skill CD with Vane to go along with his Sigil, and always interrupt his beatdown combo with skills as soon as they come off cooldown, and back into combo finishers.

Skills

Arm Destruction

  • A frontal shockwave attack that deals a high amount of stun
  • One of Vane's best offensive skills, as the high stun power often means that it will trigger a link attack, meaning you can go straight into a combo finisher to quickly fill up his Beatdown bar.

Rampart

  • Casts a circle around Vane that grants Invincibility. Hold while casting to prolong the duration.
  • An absolute must have skill for any Vane playstyle. This is his unique ability that allows his entire team to completely ignore boss mechanics such as when they become enraged.

Energy Destruction

  • A powerful sweeping attack. Deals more damage based on how full Vane's SBA gauge is.
  • Don't let the SBA gauge factor into rather you use this skill or not, even at 0%, this is Vane's most damaging skill, and by the time the CD comes back around, you can use it again at a higher SBA gauge meter for an absurd amount of burst damage right into combo finisher for even more damage.

Heroic Beat

  • A fast lunge slash that restores Vane's HP based on the damage he dealt.
  • Not only is this a very good lunge attack to keep up with your opponents, but also acts as a heal, saving you a precious potion. Not to mention as it is an offensive skill, he can go straight into combo finisher from it. A must have skill for any Vane.

Rift Driver

  • A multi-hit assault that pulls foes in front of Vane toward him.
  • Likely Vane's worse offensive skill, as not only does it take a while to complete, which means it's not good for burst damage, but also the fact that bosses do not get pulled in with this skill, making that attribute pointless outside of trash mobs.

Breakthrough

  • Grants Hostility⬆️ and ATK⬆️(30%) to Vane.
  • This skill is suited for if you want to play as more of a tank role with Vane, as you're more likely to attract enemy attention away from your team.
  • The ATK buff is good, but may become obsolete as you get into endgame as damage caps will likely already be met.

Drachenstolz

  • Grants Guts, ATK⬆️(30%), and DEF⬆️(30%) to Vane
  • The defense buff along with guts allows Vane to play a bit more carefree, especially if you have quick cooldowns, you'll be able to pop this a lot, saving you from being KO'd and unable to tank for your team.
  • This goes extremely well with Soul Eruption, as once you survive a hit with 1 HP, you can full heal with Soul Eruption, more on that below.

Soul Eruption

  • Fully restores Vane's HP and removes all debuffs. Also grants ATK⬆️(30%) and DEF⬆️(50%). Can only be activated when Vane is at or below 30% HP.
  • This goes well with Drachenstolz as guts will leave you with 1 HP, and this skill will instantly full-heal you and re-buff you with a powerful 50% defense buff to help your survivability.

Skill Recommendations

The first skill build is for a damage dealing Vane who still holds the capability to save his team from a deadly mechanic thanks to Rampart. This features his 3 best offensive skills in order to lead to many combo finishers and wreak havoc to Vane's foes.

The second build is for a self-sustaining, tank build. With Drachenstolz, Vane is able to survive lethal damage, leaving him at 1 HP, he can then full heal with Soul Eruption, and can rinse and repeat this so that even if he is out of healing items, he can sustain himself for the long haul. Heroic beat is also used here as another form of healing, and a gap closer.

Best Weapon(s)

As all characters are damage dealers, and the best way to increase your damage at the early game is with critical hits, his best weapon before his fully ascended and terminus weapons would be Ukonvasara, which gives the crit rate trait and a total 50% boost to critical hit damage passive at max level.

Best Sigils

For Vane, I would equip his two unique sigils Hero's Creed and Hero's Will, Hero's Will in particular will make his skill rotation much quicker, which for the Rampart skill, you want to make sure is up when you need it the most. To go with the theme of skill cooldown, you will want Cascade and Quick Cooldown. For damage, you will want Damage Cap, War Elemental, and Supplemental Damage. Apart from that, you'll want Guts/Autorevive, Potion Hoarder, and Aegis. If you're using Drachenstolz, I would go with Autorevive instead.

Quick Cooldown V

  • Shortens skill cooldowns.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Skill cooldown -10%

Cascade V

  • Shortens skill cooldowns whenever you hit a foe. Effect strength changes based on the attack type.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Skill cooldown -1.5%

Damage Cap V

  • Raises the damage limit of attacks.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, ▢/△ attack DMG cap +45%
  • Skill DMG cap +45%
  • SBA DMG cap +45%

Autorevive V

  • Automatically recover from critical condition. Reactivation time is shortened based on trait level.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Ready for activation after 170 seconds.

Potion Hoarder V

  • Increases the stock of recovery items.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Green potion +3, blue potion +5, mega potion +5, revival potion +2

Aegis V

  • Raises maximum health as a proportion of your current maximum health.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, HP +35%

Over Mastery

Upon reaching level 80, 90, and 100, you will be able to spend excess MSP into Vane's over mastery. I would prioritize Critical Hit Rate, Normal Attack Cap, Skill Attack Cap, and Stun in that order. Anything else is just a bonus.

Conclusion

Vane is an extremely good character, in my opinion, one of the best characters in the game not only due to his incredible burst damage potential with Energy Destruction, but also with his Rampart skill, which with high skill CD, you will be able to consistently use in order to protect your entire team from tricky boss mechanics, overall saving items for those longer boss fights. He will be welcomed and loved into any end-game boss hunts.

Overview

Lancelot, a Knight who leads the Order of the White Dragons, is a ice element, dual blade, fast attacker who relies on overwhelming his opponents with his quick attacks and nimble movements. He is able to effortlessly dodge in and out of attacks in order to boost his effectiveness in combat. As he is an ice element, he is able to assist his team by CC'ing enemies with Glaciate, and since he is a very fast character, he has the ability to redistribute his SBA gauge in order to help his allies keep up with him, making him a good team player if you so choose. Last but not least, he can buff himself with Supplementary Damage, and as his strikes are quick, this will help him deal a very high amount of damage past the damage cap.

Gameplay

Lancelot is meant to be played as an in your face, hit and dodge character. Think like a boxer, you want to weave in and out of your opponents face, landing perfect dodges with your triangle + direction in order to continue the combo chain. Lancelot deals rapid damage the longer his square attack is being used, up to a point when the blades are covered in ice, and at that point you can either combo finish it with triangle, or continue the assault, and dodging whenever necessary. In addition, landing skills or link attacks will automatically coat Lancelot's blades in ice, and then after continuing to mash square, he will begin to glow blue, which is the highest damage state he can be in. Below is a simple demonstration of Lancelot's gameplay loop with a mix of skills and combo finishers; keep in mind he is very versatile in his combos.

After dodging, you can continue on with the blade assault, or finish it off with a triangle attack and then dive back in with a skill, and rinse and repeat.

Skills

Blade Impulse

  • A fast lunge slash that is chainable into a (square) combo.
  • This move has a short cooldown, is an excellent gap closer, and a good way to start Lancelot's combo. In my opinion, a must-have skill.

Southern Cross

  • A fast multi-hit attack that is chainable into a (square) combo.
  • An excellent combo starter for if you're already close up to your opponent. Use this to get a head-start on your DPS combo, another great skill for a rush down, damage Lancelot.

Blauer Dolch

  • Grants Supplementary DMG to Lancelot
  • As Lancelot has a lot of attacks, supplementary damage works especially good on him to deal damage past the damage cap, making this another must-have skill.

Turbulenz

  • Dodges into the air, and then slams down with an area-of-effect attack that is chainable into a (square) combo.
  • This is Lancelot's strongest skill, and not only does it have a wide AOE range, but it also works as yet another combo starter, making it a good pick for a rush down Lancelot.

Lawinensturm

  • An ice-infused ranged attack. Can be activate multiple times in a row.
  • This skill gives Lancelot a ranged attack option, which can be useful for dealing with aerial enemies, however, he cannot combo off of this, and Lancelot prefers to be close to his opponents, making this skill not very appealing.

Luftspiegelung

  • Grants Mirror Image to Lancelot
  • While having DMG nullified for a set number of hits is useful, Lancelot is a character who is meant to be nimble and naturally able to dodge his opponents, so while you can ignore a boss mechanic with this, you're better off dodging and saving this slot for an offensive skill.

Kaltzwinger

  • Casts an ice trap that inflicts Glaciate. Hold while casting to prolong the duration.
  • This skill sacrifices Lancelot's own damage in order to provide CC for your team in order to deal damage, or to simply stop them from performing a deadly move. This is a must if you're playing a more support based Lance.

Schwertgeist

  • Redistributes Lancelot's SBA gauge to all allies.
  • As Lancelot builds his SBA gauge quicker than most due to his quick strikes, this skill would come in handy for a support Lancelot in order to help his team more quickly obtain SBA for full bursts.

Skill Recommendations

The first skill build is for a rush-down, pure damage dealing Lancelot. All offensive skills here are combo starters, letting Lance quickly get into his high damage state, with supplementary damage increasing his overall damage output by a lot.

This second option revolves around providing support to your team, from the CC caused by Glaciate, to giving your team SBA gauge. Blade Impulse and Blauer Dolch are the best options here, as the gap closer combo starter is too good to pass up, and supplementary damage will improve your DPS to better assist your team damage wise, as well.

Best Weapon(s)

As Lancelot is a heavy DPS character, his best weapon before he gets his fully ascended and terminus weapons would be Vegalta, which gives you the critical hit trait as well as a total 50% boost to critical damage passive at max level.

Best Sigils

For Lancelot, you want his unique sigils White Dragon's Oath and White Dragon's Glory. As Lancelot is a heavy dodged focused character with his built in dodge on his triangle attack, you want sigils that enhance dodge effects, those of which include Nimble Defense and Nimble Onslaught. For damage dealing, Cascade, Damage Cap, War Elemental, and Supplementary Damage. Lastly, for survivability, you'll want Potion Hoarder, and Guts / Autorevive.

Nimble Defense V

  • Extends Invincibility after a perfect dodge. Temporarily boosts defense and restores a small bit of health.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Invincibility +2 sec.
  • Def +14%/ Recover 7% of max HP

Nimble Onslaught V

  • Extends Invincibility after a perfect dodge. Boosts the charge speed of your SBA gauge and shortens skill cooldowns.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Invincibility +2 sec.
  • SBA gauge gain +3.5%/ Skill cooldown -3.5%

Cascade V

  • Shortens skill cooldowns whenever you hit a foe. Effect strength changes based on the attack type.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Skill cooldown -1.5%

Damage Cap V

  • Raises the damage limit of attacks.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, ▢/△ attack DMG cap +45%
  • Skill DMG cap +45%
  • SBA DMG cap +45%

Potion Hoarder V

  • Increases the stock of recovery items.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Green potion +3, blue potion +5, mega potion +5, revival potion +2

Autorevive V

  • Automatically recover from critical condition. Reactivation time is shortened based on trait level.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Ready for activation after 170 seconds.

Over Mastery

Once you reach level 80, 90, and 100 with Lancelot, you will be able to dump excess MSP into over mastery. As Lancelot relies heavily on his normal attack, you want to prioritize Normal Attack Damage Cap, then Skill Damage Cap, Skybound Arts Damage, Critical Hit Chance, Chain Attack, and Stun in that order.

Conclusion

At the beginning, it may seem like Lancelot is weak as his multitude of slashes don't appear to deal much damage, but as you progress through the game and build out his MSP tree, weaponry, and get the appropriate sigils, he truly starts to shine. He is able to out deal the damage of most characters due to his fast strikes in combination with supplementary damage, and is also able to CC enemies with Glaciate if he so chooses. I consider Lancelot a high skill ceiling character due to his reliance on perfect dodges, but once this is nailed down, he is a force to be reckoned with and is not easily out damaged in the right hands.

Overview

Ferry, an Erune who has died many years ago and now traverses the world as a ghost, is a light elemental support and damage character who utilizes her unique ability to summon minions Fugee, Nicola, Geegee, and Beppo onto the field to provide various buffs to herself and her team, as well as deal considerable amounts of damage. With her skills, she is able to prioritize self buffs, team buffs, or a variety of the two with her summons, making her highly versatile. Her main method of attack is using a long ranged whip, allowing her to attack from a safe distance outside of using her summons, giving her multiple damage options, which comes in handy depending on what mechanic the foe is currently on. She is also able to give herself Supplementary Damage, giving her the potential to deal damage above the cap.

Gameplay

The way that Ferry works may sound complicated, but is actually very easy to learn. To put it simply, you want to have as many summons out of 4 as often as you can in order to make the most out her buffs, as well as provide the most support to your team. There are several ways to accomplish this, either by landing the final hit of a charged square attack, by performing a link attack, or by the use of skills. After all are summoned, you should use your buffs that benefit from having them on the field, then dismiss them by pulling off a powerful charged triangle attack. Below is a simple demonstration of a simple route summoning all 4 of Ferry's spirits without the use of skills:

And of course, before you dismiss them with the charged triangle attack, you want to take advantage of her selfish buff Hinrichten and or her team buff Benediction, which will have more effects based on how many summons are on the field.

Please note that this is not Ferry's method of dealing out the most damage, simply to get the most out of her summons. As noted from this community guide suitable for endgame HERE, the optimal damage comes from her launch + aerial barrage.

Skills

Pendel

  • Summons Fugee and Nicola to whisk Ferry back to safety while Geegee engages foes at the front. All 3 pets remamin on the battlefield.
  • This is a great offensive skill for a supportive Ferry, not only does this instantly unlock 3 out of 4 summons, it has a very short natural cooldown, and it also leaves her at the perfect distance for a charged attack in order to summon her final spirit. Not to mention it's good for getting out of sticky situations.

Benediction

  • Restores HP to Ferry and nearby allies. Grants Regen, DEF⬆️(10-20%), and ATK⬆️(20%) in that order based on how many pets are on the battlefield.
  • This is Ferry's go-to support ability, so if you're going the supportive route, this a must have, as not only is it a nice heal, but the defensive buff is vital, and the attack buff can help some allies reach damage cap if they have not already.

Blaues Gespenst

  • Summons Fugee and Nicola onto the battlefield for a frontal attack that inflicts DEF⬇️(15%) and removes 1 buff from foes.
  • This is another excellent option for a support Ferry, as while the defense down option may not be the best option for late game play due to attack cap, the dispel this offers can be invaluable for stripping foes of strong attack or supplementary damage buffs.

Purge Spirits

  • A magic-infused whip attack that deals a high amount of stun and summons Fugee, Nicola, Geegee, and Beppo onto the battlefield on hit.
  • This is a must have ability for a damage / stun build Ferry. Not only is this attack one of the best high stun damage options in the game due to it's range, but it is one her Ferry's two skills that summons all 4 of her spirits, opening up options for quicker damage output or faster buffing.

Sic 'Em, Geegee!

  • Summons Geegee onto the battlefield to generate a sphere that inflicts Slow. Hold while summoning to aim Geegee.
  • While slow is a really useful debuff, this skill provides no additional utility or damage to make it worth a slot compared to her plethora of useful skills.

Umlauf

  • Grants Stout Heart to Ferry and summons a damaging spirit orb that circles around her.
  • While the orb provides a constant stream of damage, it is very short range, and this seems to only make sense with her fully charged Triangle attack, and with Stout Heart, you'll still be taking damage.
  • If the self buff was Invincibility, this would be a no brainer, but as it stands, this is not something I would pick.

Strafe

  • Summons Fugee, Nicola, Geegee, and Beppo onto the battlefield for an all-out, continuous assault.
  • This is another great option for a damage dealing Ferry, as not only does this offer a way to deal heavy damage from a safe distance, but it also instantly summons all 4 of her spirits, allowing her to apply her buffs at full capacity, or deal more damage with her charged triangle attack.

Hinrichten

  • Grants ATK⬆️(50%) to Ferry, as well as Critical Hit Rate⬆️(30%), Supplementary DMG, and Invincibility in that order based on how many pets are on the battlefield.
  • This is a MUST have skill equipped for both support and damage build Ferry's, as the Supplementary DMG ensures you can deal damage far above the damage cap, and with the invincibility, you can safely use her charged triangle attack without fear of being KO'd while pulling it off.

Skill Recommendations

This first skill build is for a support focused Ferry, with the ability to strip buffs and apply defense down, as well as Benediction, providing a variety of useful buffs to Ferry herself and her team. Pendel here is used for placement as well as faster summoning's.

This second build is for a damage Ferry, with skills that focus on summon output, with Purge and Strafe both giving you 4 summons, with Pendel giving you 3 and putting you into the position for an easy 4th.

Best Weapon(s)

Although Ferry has a few support skills, she is still primarily a damage dealing character, thus, outside of her fully ascended and Terminus weapon, the best forgeable weapon would be the Flame Lit Curl, granting crit rate boost and a total of 50% crit damage at max level.

Best Sigils

For Ferry, you want her unique character sigils Phantasm’s Harmony and Phantasm’s Concord. For damage, you will want Damage Cap, Supplementary Damage, War Elemental, Combo Booster, Cascade, and Injury to Insult (or Stamina / Tyranny if you're not using Phantasm’s Concord) For non damage, you'll want Guts/Autorevive, Potion Hoarder, and perhaps Aegis if you need more HP. Lastly, Critical Hit Rate IF you're not using Hinrichten

Damage Cap V

  • Raises the damage limit of attacks.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, ▢/△ attack DMG cap +45%
  • Skill DMG cap +45%
  • SBA DMG cap +45%

Combo Booster V

  • Gradually boosts damage of each successive hit. Effect resets if the next hit isn't made in time.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Boosts DMG dealt by a max of +70%.

Cascade V

  • Shortens skill cooldowns whenever you hit a foe. Effect strength changes based on the attack type.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Skill cooldown -1.5%

Injury to Insult V

  • Deal more damage to foes inflicted with status ailments.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, DMG dealt +22%

Guts V

  • Survive a lethal hit with 1 HP. Reactivation time is shortened based on trait level.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Ready for activation after 170 seconds.

Potion Hoarder V

  • Increases the stock of recovery items.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Green potion +3, blue potion +5, mega potion +5, revival potion +2

Over Mastery

For Ferry's Over Mastery, which you will unlock at level 80, 90, and 100, you want to prioritize Normal Attack Damage Cap, Skill Damage Cap, Skybound Arts DMG, Stun, and Critical Hit Chance.

Conclusion

Ferry is a very fun character to use, with the constantly micro management of her summons and when to dismiss them, to her powerful team buffs, to her high damage and stun capability that she can dish out from a safe distance, you will find Ferry to be an incredibly versatile unit.

Tier List as of February 2024

Tier List Explanation

S-Tier characters excel at every circumstance thrown at them, provide excellent team utility, great survivability, deal very high damage or support capabilities, and make it easier for the team to succeed.

A-Tier characters perform great under every circumstance, provide good team utility in their skills and passives, deal good damage, and are overall good to have in any team setup.

B-Tier characters are solid choices that are great under certain situations or bosses, but are overall outperformed by those in A or S rank. This could be due to their skill selection, movement options, combat / gameplay gimmick.

C-Tier characters perform well only under very specific circumstances, with exceptional player skill level, or with a highly coordinated team. That saying, these characters are not terrible, but others perform their role much easier and at a more consistent rate.

S Tier

Vane

As a support and tank, Vane is fantastic, as he has multiple shielding mechanics that allow not only Vane himself ignore boss mechanics, but also the entire team, if used correctly. He alone can push Io up to A rank. As he is currently the only character in the game able to have the entire team completely ignore mechanics as well as save allies in a pinch, he is an invaluable pick for any team composition. Check out our Vane guide HERE

Lancelot

Similar to Katalina in that Lancelot has the ability to CC enemies with ice, he stands out in the fact that he can deal and absurd amount of damage in a short time due to his rapid strikes. He also comes with two incredible self buffs, including mirror image giving him survivability, and supplementary damage, meaning that each of his fast strikes can deal even more damage past the damage cap, making him an incredible damage dealer. Here is out Lancelot guide

Rackam

Rackam is a killing machine. Not only is he able to fight from a distance, but has skills that can increase his damage output ten-fold. From self attack and critical hit rate boosts, to increasing the number of attacks he deals and even a defense down that allows him and the team to deal even more damage. More importantly is his skill Duration, allowing him to completely skip boss mechanics with a continuous dodge that requires little to no effort on your end to execute. He is a selfish damage dealer, but he excels tremendously at dealing damage. Not to mention since he is a ranged gunner, he is great at part breaking.

Zeta

Zeta is a fantastic fire element damage dealer because not only does she provide team utility with her attack down and attack up skills, but also has the ability to consistently stay in the air if you manage to keep up her loop combo, which with a little practice, is very easy to nail down. Her ability to stay in the air means she manages to avoid a lot of ground based attacks and attack on smaller enemies, meaning you'll have less to worry about when attacking your foes with Zeta. Her ability to stay in the air also means it's easy for her to target specific body parts of monsters, in particular higher up areas where most characters besides Eugen and Rackam would find hard to reach. To add to this, she has a supplementary damage buff, allowing her to deal damage past the cap. Check out Zeta's character guide HERE

Charlotta

Charlotta is an amazing DPS with top tier survivability with her skills that grant her invincibility as well as a group wide defense cut buff. Not only that, she can counter any attack with the triangle button, even in the middle of a combo, which is incredibly powerful. To add, she has a generic def down debuff to help you and your party deal even more damage. If you want to play as a DPS but struggle with staying alive, try Charlotta. Check out our Charlotta guide HERE

A Tier

Gran / Djeeta

Gran and Djeeta are highly versatile, jack of all trades type of character. They have the ability to deal decent damage to very high damage, provide team wide support by way of healing, buffs and debuffs, as well as damage mitigation. The small issue with Gran / Djeeta is that in order to maximize on their skills, you need to level up your Arts level, which involve landing combos on enemies, which, at late game, bosses tend to move around a LOT, but if you manage to find a way to easily raise their arts level, they are a force to be reckoned with, and can become a master of support, or DPS as seen here: Credit to Dusty_Tibbins on reddit

Percival

Percival is an excellent support and utility unit with his unique debuff that gives defense down + slow to enemies in a cone. This is the only party wide def down that stacks with a generic def down. Not only that, he has a fire dmg burn debuff, and excellent AOE skills good for clearing out trash mobs. While is attack speed is not the best, his ability to also boost his own damage with supplementary puts him above many in his class, making him not only a useful character for helping the team survive and do more damage, but also becoming a powerhouse himself. Check out our Percival guide HERE

Ferry

Ferry is a unique support and damage dealer in the fact that she uses summons to do her biddings. The good thing about this is that her summons have the ability to deal damage even when Ferry or the team is unable to attack a boss in the middle of a mechanic. Those same summons can also provide many great buffs for Ferry and the rest of the team. She is also capable of dealing massive damage from a safe distance with her whip thanks to her ability to buff herself with supplementary damage, making her not only one of the best supports in the game, but one of the best damage dealers, as well. The only limiting factor here is the constant micro-management of her summons, which at certain points can be tricky to pull off. Our Ferry guide is HERE

Narmaya

Not only does Narmaya has insane combo and damage potential, but she has an innate dispel + slow debuff when she counters, making her incredibly useful for bosses, as buffed bosses mean a much harder time for you and your party. Not only that, but she has the ability to take hostility and apply def down to foes, but she lacks the capability of a tank, so you will often see Narmaya KO'd unless this is used wisely. To add, she is able to buff herself with supplementary damage, meaning she can go above most other damage dealing characters. One small downside to Narmaya is that you will need to combo consistently in order to maximize her potential, which can be difficult during many phases of late game bosses. Check out our guide for Narmaya HERE

Cagliostro

Cagliostro is most likely the single best pure support in the game. She has a unique party wide buff that grants attack, defense, and crit rate, and since it is unique, has the ability to stack with other attack up and defense up buffs. She is also great at sustaining, with a big AOE heal, AOE revive, and dispel. She can also debuff enemies with an attack down trap. Lastly, with her unique sigil, her fully charged attack gives a defense down debuff to enemies, thus making her the only character in the game capable off keeping a 100% debuff uptime. Seeing how easy it is to hit damage cap, the attack buff and defense down buffs will not always be needed, however. Check out our Cagliostro guide HERE

Id

Id is a character that often takes self damage for either the benefit of himself to deal more damage, or in place of his team. Id is a great damage dealer, especially with his dragon form, which gives him heightened mobility and a highly spammable fireball, which has very long ranged and can be targeted at weak points to easily break parts. While he has no team buffs or debuffs outside of slow, he can however, save a near death ally with his Atonement skill, making him highly useful in certain situations.

Siegfried

Siegfried is an excellent damage mitigation damage dealer, with his ability to apply party wide drain and debuff resistance, keeping your party healthy as long as they are attacking. To add, he has a party wide defense up buff, and a generic defense down, allowing you and your party to deal more damage while draining their HP for sustain, as well. His only slight downside is that he is a slow attacker, and requires precise button presses at all times in order to maximize his damage input, which during many boss mechanics, you won't have the time to land those consistently.

Yodarha

Yodarha is a very fast attacking character, with the ability to quickly deal damage and get out if he's in danger due to his speed. Not only is he capable of dishing out a lot of damage, but also provides the powerful Mirror Image buff, which allows you or the team to nullify an attack, making it useful for skipping boss mechanics if it's timed correctly. The only down side to applying this buff to the entire party is that he needs to have his Triple Shroud marks full, which require him to land a combo finisher, which might not always be possible depending on the mechanic a boss is currently on.

B Tier

Io

While Io has the ability to deal huge chunks of damage, her charge time in order to deal that damage is incredibly long, meaning that you will need to be extremely coordinated with your team, or wait for an opportune time such as when an boss is stunned in order to pull off that damage. However, if you do manage to pull off her attacks with the help of let's say a Vane, she is able to deal massive damage and often comes out on top as MVP, but this is easier said than done.

Katalina

Katalina has great CC with her ability to freeze enemies in their track, and offers team utility with her Invincibility buff that can be applied to herself or her team, as well as a heal and team buff / stout heart. The downside preventing her from moving out of B rank is that for her to be most effective, she needs to have her Ares meter filled up and Ares summoned to apply her buffs to the team, which, due to her slower than normal attack speed, is harder to land on bosses than you would expect, leaving her less useful than those in the higher tier at team utility.

Eugen

Eugen is a decent ranged character that offers utility in ways of paralysis, healing, poison with defense down, and most importantly, the ability to directly aim freely, making him the ideal part breaker. The problem with him however, is that most of his attacks leave with stationary, thus, vulnerable, especially with the amount of fast bosses and mechanics that require you to be constantly on the move, being forced to be stationary could pose a huge problem. However, if you are struggling to get consistent part breaks, Eugen is the man to have on the squad.

C Tier

Rosetta

Rosetta offers fantastic utility with the use of her roses, from generic regen, attack, and defense buffs, to skills offering healing, dispel, damage cut, she is a great support unit. She can also deal decent damage, attract hostility to her roses, and poison as well. The only big downside stopping Rosetta from entering the above ranks is the fact that the roses are stationary most of the time, with the only way to move them being certain skills, however, the damage and buffs can only be applied to those within a certain radius to the roses, and as bosses move around a lot, you'll often find them and your team out of range of the effects. Also, against airborne enemies, the roses, and thus Rosetta herself, are high ineffective.

Vaseraga

I consider Vaseraga as simply a worse Siegfried, Vane, or Id, with damage mitigation abilities but at the extent of his own health, meaning you will need a lot of sustain in order to stay alive. Another downside is that for him to tank at his full capability, he has to fill his Grynoth gauge, while any other tank does not need to worry about a resource to keep track with. Him being a worse Id also takes into account is lack of mobility compared to him. Played in the right hands and team however, he may shine, but overall any other tank would have a much easier time sustaining the team, as he also does not provide any buffs to the team. He is a "selfish" tank. Also like Id, his Netherwrath can save a critical ally, so like any character in the game, he is not useless by any means.

Ghandagoza

Ghandagoza is a decent tank unit with the ability to attract hostility, counter, ignore stagger, a selfish dispel and heal, and a group wide attack buff. While on paper, Ghandagoza seems good as your designated tank, he is simply way too slow compared to your other tank archetypes to provide decent damage output. He controls like a literal tank, while the other tanks are mobile and more useful for DPS checks.

Update / Change Log

Updates / changes to the tier list will go here, as well as brief explanations. Changes are caused by more testing with the character, balance updates, and introduction of new characters.

February 2024

  • (02-06-24) After discussion with people online, made some adjustments to placements. Moved Io to top of B after seeing her damage capabilities. Moved Gran to top of A rank after seeing end game usefulness. Moved Rosetta from A to C after considering how much her use drops due to her stationary roses, especially against airborne enemies. Shifted positioning of Vane, Percival, Siegfried, Ferry, Narmaya, Yoda, and Id in A rank. Lastly, dropped Ghan from B to C rank after consideration of his incredibly slow speed.
  • (02-08-24) After discussion with people online, made some adjustments to placements. Moved Vane to S tier due to his ability to completely ignore boss mechanics for him and the team. Moved Cag down to A as buffs aren't the most useful thing in the end game due to damage cap being reached. Shifted positions in A. Moved Lancelot to top of B rank due to supplementary damage buff.
  • (2-13-24) Changed Lancelot from B to S rank after experimentation with end-game and damage caps.
  • (2-15-24) Changed A rank positions of Ferry, Narmaya, Cagliostro, Id, Siegfried.

Overview

Charlotta, the Harvin Captain of the Holy Knights, is an light based, rapid attacking warrior that excels at overwhelming her foes through fast movement, aerial attacks, and counter attack options. Not only does she have amazing combat ability, but also self survivability with an option for her to apply Invincibility to herself in order to either get herself out of a sticky situation, or to unload on her foes without worry of taking damage. Not only that, she can apply a weaker Phalanx to her team with Königsschild, providing damage cut to herself and allies, making her also useful for dealing with high damage attacks.

Gameplay

Charlotta's gameplay is quite simple, in that her main damage comes from spamming the square button, which speeds up her swings and DPS. The quickest way to get to the maximum number of swings per second is to begin spamming square right after a link attack or a damage dealing skill. Outside of that, she is able to leap into the air at any time by pressing triangle, and after performing the high jump, she can either perform a thrusting attack with another triangle, or a lunge gap closer by pressing square.

She is one of the only characters who has a built in gap closer, making it easier for her to stay on top of her enemies. One more neat thing to her base kit is that, at any time, even during her square combo, she can press triangle to counter attack any attack and leap into the air. Below is a short demonstration of one of her bread and butter combos, taking use of her two self buffs which go hand in hand, which will be explained in the Skills section:

Skills

Shining Onslaught

  • A multi-hit attack that inflicts DEF⬇️(15%) on hit.
  • This is a decent lunge attack for Charlotta, however she is able to lunge further without the use of a skill, making that not super important.
  • The defense down is a nice bonus if you are going into a fight with no other defense down user or if you're playing as a more supportive Charlotta, which in that case I recommend you bring this skill along. However...
  • Defense down is not super important once you reach late game as damage caps are easily reached.

Sword of Lumiel

  • A flurry of slashes that cuts wider and deals more damage the longer Charlotta swings. Hold while activating to continue slashing.
  • This is a very high damaging skill as the DPS it brings is among the top on the game. It can also be cut short or dodged out of at any time if you find yourself in danger of being attacked, or if the enemy has moved out of the way.
  • Combine this with her self invisibility buff and you can whack away at your foes guilt free!

Valiant Stance

  • Grants an ATK⬆️(30%-120%) effect to Charlotta that strengthens over time. She loses the effect upon taking damage.
  • This pairs well with her other self buff Invincible as she is unable to take damage during that time, thus making this buff easier to maintain.
  • This is very good if you're able to consistently keep the buff active, and makes it easier to build Charlotta for max damage and can opt for other, non damage increasing sigils.

Invincible

  • Grants Invincibility to Charlotta
  • A straightfoward skill that for a short period, around 10 seconds, leaves Charlotta immune to all damage.
  • Not only can this ignore boss mechanics, but it also allows Valiant Stance to stay on longer if you were to take damage, making both of her self buffs go hand in hand together.

Holy Ladder

  • Jumps into the air to unleash a whirlwind of long-range slashes. After the lash slash, press square or triangle while airborne for a follow-up attack.
  • This is a great attack for dealing damage at long range or when it's unsafe to attack from close distance.
  • This is also an easy way to start a combo, as she can chain directly into her lunge power strike right after it in order to close the distance.

Königsschild

  • Grants DMG Cut to Charlotta and nearby allies.
  • A weaker version of Captain's Phalanx, but also much easier to pull off consistently, this is a very good buff that could save your team from one-shot attacks bosses in Proud mode tend to have. This is a must have skill for a supportive Charlotta.

Rising Cut

  • Charlotta readies her weapon to parry and counter.
  • While this can be a life savor for attacks that are difficult to parry, Charlotta has a built in block with a perfectly timed triangle attack, making this skill very low priority unless you struggle with timing her triangle, or dodging.

Sacred Charge

  • Redistributes Charlotta's SBA gauge to all allies
  • As Charlotta is often attacking at a much faster rate than her allies, this will be useful in order to keep everyone to snuff in order to perform full bursts more consistently. This is a great skill for a support Charlotta.

Skill Recommendations

The first option is suited for a damage focused Charlotta. With the combination of Valiant Stance and Invincible, allowing you to get up to your foes face without much fear of losing your buff, to the barrage of attacks with Sword of Lumiel, to the ranged sword beams of Holy Ladder, this kit assures you have all of your damage bases covered.

The second option is suited for a support Charlotta. As she will be building up her SBA bar naturally faster than others, you will want a way to distribute it to your allies falling behind. You also get a defense down as well as a damage cut to yourself and allies, and even more survivability in order to support your team for longer with the use of Invincible.

Best Weapon(s)

For all damage dealing characters, which I argue is everyone in the cast, you will want, outside of the obvious fully ascended and terminus weapons, would be the critical hit rate boost weapons. For Charlotta, that weapon is Ushumgal, which at max level, will give you a total crit damage boost of 50%.

Best Sigils

For Charlotta, you want her character unique sigil Holy Knight's Luster as well as Holy Knight's Grandeur. Outside of that, your typical sigils for damage dealers being Damage Cap, War Elemental. You will also want Combo Booster, and some non damage boosting sigils such as Aegis, Potion Hoarder, Guts, and AutoRevive. If you have any room to spare, some Supplementary Damage to boost Charlotta past the damage cap.

Damage Cap V

  • Raises the damage limit of attacks.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, ▢/△ attack DMG cap +45%
  • Skill DMG cap +45%
  • SBA DMG cap +45%

Combo Booster V

  • Gradually boosts damage of each successive hit. Effect resets if the next hit isn't made in time.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Boosts DMG dealt by a max of +70%.

Aegis V

  • Raises maximum health as a proportion of your current maximum health.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, HP +35%

Potion Hoarder V

  • Increases the stock of recovery items.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Green potion +3, blue potion +5, mega potion +5, revival potion +2

Guts V

  • Survive a lethal hit with 1 HP. Reactivation time is shortened based on trait level.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Ready for activation after 170 seconds.

Autorevive V

  • Automatically recover from critical condition. Reactivation time is shortened based on trait level.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Ready for activation after 170 seconds.

Over Mastery

Upon reaching Level 80, 90, and 100, you will unlock the ability to spend extra MSP on Over Mastery stats. For Charlotta, since she is mainly a damage dealer first, you want to prioritize Damage Cap on normal attacks, chain attacks, skill attacks, and SBA attacks for her Over Mastery

Conclusion

Charlotta is a very powerful character that offers a lot of sustain not only to herself with her Invincibility buff coming from both her skill as well as unique sigil, but also to her team with a 50% damage cut ability. Her DPS is among the top in the game due to the rapid slashes her X combo provides, so if you stack her with Supplemental Damage sigils, she will often remain the top of the DPS charts. As she can completely ignore mechanics with invincibility, provide great DPS, as well as team damage mitigation, Charlotta is a character that will be on the top of tier lists.

Overview

Known as the Lord of Flames, Percival is a powerful fire knight armed with sword and magic that is able to empower his own team, or debuff his foes and wreak havoc with his wide AOE attacks. He comes with a unique debuff Petrified that slows enemies and lowers their defense. Due to the fact that it is a unique debuff, this stacks with other defense down debuffs, making it incredibly powerful for dealing more damage to foes.

Gameplay

Percival is extremely beginner friendly in that his kit is not complicated in the slightest, in fact, he only has one combo, which is 4 basic attacks. After landing 4 basic attacks, his charge move is considerably faster, but landing the combo finisher is not the only way to increase his charge time, as several skills, and link attacks also achieve the same effect. Him being able to move while holding his charge makes him very versatile, as foes tend to move around a lot! Below is a simple demonstration of his gameplay loop with only one of his active skills that increases charge time.

However, if you equip his unique ascension sigil, which you should, then you want to aim to parry attacks with his charged attack as it gives him an attack buff and a nice heal for more self-sustain. This will obviously take a lot of practice and memorization of attack patterns.

Outside of fighting stationary targets, you should treat Percival like Hammer in Monster Hunter, in the fact that you can move while charging, instead of worrying about pulling off a combo finisher, keep triangle held and wait for the opportune time to release it in order to strike.

Skills

Feuerangriff

  • Unleashes a series of slashes. Schlacht charges faster when charged right after the attack.
  • A powerful multi hit attack that's great for attacking foes who are stationary, but not so much when they are on the move as it takes quite a bit of time to pull off.

Royal Authority

  • Expels fire from the ground around Percival. Schlacht charges faster when charged right after the attack.
  • An excellent AOE attack to damage a large group of enemies at the same time. While this is great for mobs, it's not the best for bosses if they are not currently stunned, as they will often get out of the way of the attack radius.

Zerreissen

  • A lunging thrust attack that inflicts Burn. Schlacht charges faster when charged right after the attack.
  • While the Burn DoT is nice, there is a much better lunge attack option with Macht, and there are other offensive skills that will net you more DPS overall than burn would.

Macht

  • A lunging slash that deals a high amount of stun. Grants Stout Heart to Percival while lunging. Schlacht charges faster when charged right after.
  • One of Percival's best offensive move as not only is it a great gap closer, but also deals considerable stun damage and gives Percival a buff to ignore hit stun.

Flammenmarsch

  • Grants ATK⬆️(20%) and DEF⬆️(20%) the entire party.
  • This is a fantastic buff, mainly due to the DEF increase this provides, but also the ATK increase is useful for those who have not reached their damage caps. This combines well with X-Seele

X-Seele

  • Inflicts Petrified on foes within a conical zone in front of Percival.
  • This is a unique debuff, meaning that this can stack with other defense down buffs, making your foes super weak and easy for your team to deal maximum damage.

Träumerei

  • Grants Strength and Supplementary DMG to Percival.
  • An incredible selfish buff for Percival as Strength boosts his own attack based on how high is HP is up to 70%. To add, Supplementary Damage ensures that even if he is at damage cap, he will be able to deal damage above that, making him one of the best damage characters.

Roter Wirbel

  • Spawns fire coils in front of Percival that deal constant damage. Schlacht charges faster when charged right after the attack.
  • This is a great way to increase Percival's DPS when attacking when a boss is stunned or during link time, but apart from that, it is not consistent as bosses will easily and quickly move out of range of the attack.

Skill Recommendations

This first skill build option is if you want to provide the most support to your team, while also being able to dish out really high damage yourself. You forgo one offensive option, but is easily made up by the team utility.

This second build is for if you want to be able to dish out a little extra damage yourself and sacrifice the ATK / DEF buff for the team. Both of these builds include X-Seele and Träumerei as they are incredibly important and powerful buffs, with X-Seele having a stackable defense down with other defense down buffs!

Best Weapon(s)

For all damage dealing characters, which in reality is everyone at a certain point, the best choice for weapon until you unlock their Ascension and Terminus weapon, are weapons that boost critical hit rate. For Percival, that weapon is Joyeuse, which increases critical hit rate, and at max level, gives a total 50% boost to critical hit damage.

Best Sigils

For Percival, you want both of his character unique sigil Lords Procession and or Lord's Ambition. Outside of those, you will want Quick Charge, Charged Attack, War Elemental, Damage Cap, Lucky Charge or Critical Rate, and survivability sigils such as Autorevive, Aegis, Guts, and Potion Hoarder.

Quick Charge V

  • Charged attacks charge faster. Boosts attack power.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Charge time -21%
  • ATK +14%

Charged Attack V

  • Boosts the power of charged attacks.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, DMG dealth +35%

Lucky Charge V

  • Boosts the critical hit of charged attacks.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Critical hit rate +54%

Damage Cap V

  • Raises the damage limit of attacks.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, ▢/△ attack DMG cap +45%
  • Skill DMG cap +45%
  • SBA DMG cap +45%

Potion Hoarder V

  • Increases the stock of recovery items.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Green potion +3, blue potion +5, mega potion +5, revival potion +2

Guts V

  • Survive a lethal hit with 1 HP. Reactivation time is shortened based on trait level.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Ready for activation after 170 seconds.

Over Mastery

Upon reaching Level 80, 90, and 100, you will unlock the ability to spend extra MSP on Over Mastery stats. For Percival, since he is mainly a damage dealer first, you want to prioritize Damage Cap on normal attacks, chain attacks, skill attacks, and SBA attacks for his Over Mastery

Conclusion

Percival is a powerhouse of a unit. With his unique Petrification debuff that applies a unique slow and defense down to foes, to his team utility of buffing defense and attack, to his self buffs to increase his powerful charge attack and skill damage by a lot, he is a very versatile character that once you get his playstyle down, you will constantly see "MVP" show up on the result screen.

Overview

Cagliostro is a brilliant mage who introduced alchemy to the Sky Realm. She excels at long ranged "weapons of murder", but is better suited at being an excellent support mage. She comes with a unique buff Phantasmagoria that increases ATK, DEF, and Crit rate, and is stackable with other attack and defense buffs, making it incredibly powerful.

Gameplay

Cagliostro's gameplan is extremely straight forward and easy to use. What you want to do is, depending on the situation, complete her basic combo chains, and finish off with a charged triangle attack which is hastened by charging it immediately after a combo finisher. The strong thing about completing her combo finishers is that, once you have her unique sigil equipped, every charge attack places a defense -30% debuff on the enemy, allowing you to apply a constant debuff, which only Cagliostro is able to achieve. How you plan to use your charge attacks depends on what you want to accomplish:

To add, of course if you're going to be using Cagliostro as a support, you want to play at a distance away from the enemy so that you're not at risk of being wiped out, which in that case, attack 1 and 4 are great charge attack options.

Skills

Reinforce

  • Casts a circle that restores allies' HP. Hold while casting to aim the circle
  • A simple, yet very effective heal in the fact that no special conditions need to be met in order to maximize it's potential, such as needing to fill an Arts level or Ares meter.
  • This is a must have skill if you're building Cagliostro as a support.

Phantasmagoria

  • Grants Phantasmagoria to the entire party.
  • This is an incredible buff as since it is unique, it is stackable with other ATK⬆️ and DEF⬆️ buffs.
  • As this is her signature skill and what makes her stand out from other support, this should always be on Cag, no matter what type of build you're going for.

Mimic Doll

  • Dodge backward after placing an explosive replica of Cagliostro where she used to be standing. Collapse charges faster right after the attack.
  • For a support character, this is a great skill for dealing damage as not only does it act as an avoidance and attracts enemy hostility, but is also a way to quickly charge collapse in order to debuff your foe.

Pain Train

  • Charges into foes while riding Ouroboros
  • This skill is useful for closing the gap if you're opting for an offensive Cagliostro, as gap closers are very important for DPS characters.
  • Another use for this would be to more quickly get to teammates who are targeting the boss while you're far away, so even a support build could find this useful.

Alexandria

  • Summons Ouroboros to launch foes in front of Cagliostro into the air. Collapse charges faster right after the attack.
  • This one is truly built for offensive Cag's, you can combo this right into a fully charged Collapse for some decent damage, and in the end game, all characters will deal high damage.

Rhizomata

  • Casts a circle that rescues allies from critical condition. Hold while casting to aim the circle.
  • This is another must have skill for a pure support Cagliostro, instant revives are vital for saving on the game over bar from filling up!

Disruption

  • Casts a spell that deals damage and removes 1 buff from foes in the blast radius. Hold while casting to aim.
  • This is a great damage option for both support and offensive Cag's, as it also acts as a dispel. If you're going support and don't care about Mimic Doll or Pain Train, I would go with this as your "offensive" slot.

Mehen

  • Lays a spear trap that gets stronger and inflicts ATK⬇️(20%) when stabilized. Hold while casting to aim.
  • While the attack debuff is nice, since this is a stationary trap, it will be difficult to get a boss to trip it when you want, making this not very consistent.
  • However, it is good to place in the middle of a large group of mobs to inflict damage and attack debuff on them all.

Skill Recommendations

If you want your Cagliostro to be one of the best supports in the game, I would go with the first. This ensures you get AOE healing and revive, the powerful Phantasmagoria buff, as well as Mimic Doll which takes hostility away from you, and is also a good way to avoid incoming attacks.

If you instead want Cagliostro to become a murder machine, go with the second build. Alexandria and Mimic Doll both give Cag quick charge on her Collapse, letting her maximize her DPS potential. Pain train allows her to get to the action quickly, and you can never give up the free ATK, DEF, and CRIT rate from the Phantasmagoria buff. If you're fighting a boss that buffs a lot, replace Alexandria with Disruption.

Best Weapon(s)

Although Cagliostro is best played as a support, her best weapon to equip outside of her Ascended and Terminus weapon is the Sacred Codex. Every character in the game, support or not, has to deal damage, and critical hit chance + damage will improve that damage ten-fold. At max, it gives you a total 50% critical hit damage bonus

Best Sigils

For Cagliostro, you absolutely, 100% need Founder's Strategy, which can be acquired from Treasure Trade upon reaching Maniac difficulty. Outside of that, you'll want at the minimum the following Sigils: Damage Cap V, War Elemental, Crit Damage, Auto-Revive V, Quick Cooldown V, Aegis V, Improved Healing, Cascade

Auto-Revive V (As a support, you don't want to leave your team hanging if you accidently kick the bucket!)

  • Automatically recover from critical condition. Reactivation time is shortened based on trait level.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Ready for activation after 170 seconds.

Damage Cap V (You will still need to deal damage as a support, and you will reach cap quickly without a few of these)

  • Raises the damage limit of attacks.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, ▢/△ attack DMG cap +45%
  • Skill DMG cap +45%
  • SBA DMG cap +45%

Critical Damage V

  • Boosts damage dealt by critical hits.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, DMG dealt +35%

Quick Cooldown V (Very important for support!)

  • Shortens skill cooldowns.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Skill cooldown -10%

Aegis V

  • Raises maximum health as a proportion of your current maximum health.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, HP +35%

Improved Healing V (vital if you're healing)

  • Raises the healing cap and healing amount of healing skills.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Healing amount +35%
  • Healing cap +35%

Cascade V

Shortens skill cooldowns whenever you hit a foe. Effect strength changes based on the attack type.

Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Skill cooldown -1.5%

Over Mastery

Upon reaching level 80 to 100 with Cagliostro, you will unlock Over Mastery. For Cag, I would prioritize Healing Cap Up (if you're using Reinforce), Normal Attack Damage Cap Up, Skill Damage cap Up, and Skybound Art Damage Cap, in that priority. Anything else you roll is just a bonus.

Conclusion

Cagliostro is an easy to use and extremely effective support unit thanks to her unique Phantasmagoria buff that is sure to not overlap with any other buff in the game. With the correct sigils, she will be an incredible healer as well, or, if you prefer to build her as an offensive battle mage, thanks to her combo abilities, she works well in that regards, too.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink Narmaya Guide https://dotgg.gg/granblue-fantasy-relink-narmaya-guide/ Wed, 07 Feb 2024 02:54:27 +0000 https://dotgg.gg/?p=11661 Narmaya is a dark element blademaster who takes advantage of two distinct stances in battle for different situations in battle.

The post Granblue Fantasy: Relink Narmaya Guide appeared first on DotGG.

]]>

Overview

Narmaya is a powerful and mobile blademaster who has the ability to switch between two stances at will; those being the Dawnfly stance and Freeflutter stance. Dawnfly involves slower attacks able to deal a wide sweeping AOE charged attack, while the Freeflutter stance takes a much quicker, but shorter reaching approach.

Gameplay

In order to master Narmaya's gameplay loop, it will take a bit of practice, but once you get it down, it will come to you like second nature. Essentially, you want to maximize the number of butterflies you can get in the shortest amount of time, and to do this, you want to open up in Dawnfly stance, and either use an skill, or attack three times in order to quickly charge the Dawnfly Zone Attack into Stance Shift Combo with perfect timing, then complete the Freeflutter combo into Stance Shift with perfect timing, which causes your Dawnfly zone attack to charge much quicker, and then, perfect switching back to Freeflutter thus giving you maximum butterflies to then either keep to power up your stats, or spend them to powerup your skills. I've made a demonstration on this below:

Once you get her gameplay loop down, she is a ton of fun to play! Similar to Zeta and Siegfried, characters with timing have a high skill ceiling, but that also means high potential.

Skills

Kyokasuigetsu

  • A fast lunging slash attack. Deals more hits based on butterfly count.
  • Not only is this a fantastic gap closer, but it is also her best opening attack, which, as shown in the gameplay demonstration, allows her to quickly charge the zone attack to start her combo chain.

Setsuna

  • A chargeable frontal slash. Charges faster based on butterfly count
  • I consider this an expert level skill and Narmaya's hardest one to pull off consistently due to the charge time and animation locking, but after some practice, and you manage to use it in situations such as during link time or when a boss is broken, prepare to deal an insane amount of damage, especially if you have supplementary damage active.

Crescent Moon

  • Unleashes a long-range slash while jumping back. Skill strength is based on butterfly count
  • While this is a great skill to play keep-away with your foe, if you are good at blocking, dodging, or countering, this skill would not be needed, as there are others that would increase your DPS much more.
  • Use this if you're a beginner who is struggling to avoid attacks.

Transient

  • A multi-hit assault that differs based on stance. Deals more hits based on butterfly count
  • This is a very hard hitting skill if you're maxed out on butterflies. While in Dawnfly stance, the skill is quicker, allowing you to play safer.
  • The skill does take a while to play out, leaving you slightly vulnerable, therefore not ideal in some situations. However, if you want a beginner friendly skill and you are not the best at countering, I would take this skill over Apex of Nothingness.

Utter Devotion

  • Grants Hostility⬆️ to Narmaya, and inflicts DEF⬇️(25%) on nearby foes. She also gains 3 butterflies
  • The defense down, while not the best if you've reached damage cap, goes well with supplemental damage, as it allows Narmaya to go even further beyond the damage cap.
  • While this gives you a quick 3 butterflies to buff your stats or abilities, it grants hostility, which is not the best unless you build Narmaya as a support tank and are good at dodging / countering.
  • This is a very risky skill, and only recommended for advanced Narmaya players. However, it goes incredibly well with Dance of Blue Petals, granting her 6 butterflies immediately.

Dance of Blue Petals

  • Grants DEF⬆️(40%) and restored HP to Narmaya. She also gains 3 butterflies.
  • In my opinion, if you are going to use Utter Devotion, this is a must, as the attracted hostility will likely have you taking more hits, thus this defense buff and healing will help her survivability.
  • To add, this gives 3 butterflies, so combined with Utter Devotion, Narmaya maxes out at 6 butterflies to use at her own disposal.

Apex of Nothingness

  • Narmaya readies to parry and counter. She inflicts Slow and removes 1 buff from a foe on hit. Effect duration and damage is based on butterfly count.
  • This is one of her best skills, as not only does it debuff the boss by applying slow and stripping a buff which is very important for end-game, but it is also a get out of jail free card if you're about to get hit by a boss.
  • It deals great damage if you have butterflies stacked.

Dance of Pink Petals

  • Grants ATK⬆️(30%), Stout Heart, and Supplementary DMG to Narmaya. She also gains 3 butterflies.
  • Arguably Narmaya's best skills, as not only does it give her a big attack buff and stout heart for super armor, but it gives her the important Supplementary DMG buff, which allows her to damage beyond the damage cap.
  • To add, it also gives 3 butterflies, further buffing Narmaya's stats and skills. This is a must have skill.

Skill Recommendations

If you want to maximize your damage output as Narmaya, I would go with the first option here. This ignores most of her team support utility such as attracting hostility and debuffing the enemies in favor of more damage capability. This is also a safer playstyle.

If you want to provide maximum team utility with Narmaya, this second build is for you. This build attracts hostility while lowering the enemies defense, but with Dance of Blue Petals, you get a defense buff and self heal to help you survive. Since you're attracting hostility, make use of Apex of Nothingness for the counter attack!

Best Weapon(s)

Outside of her Ascension and Terminus weapon, which will obviously be best in slot once fully upgraded, you want a weapon that will boost Narmaya's critical hit chance, which in that case, the forgeable weapon Fluorithium Blade is your next best option. This has a crit rate trait, and at max level, you get a total passive bonus of 50% crit damage.

Best Sigils

For Narmaya, you want Butterfly's Grace, Butterfly's Valor, Critical Hit V(+), Critical Damage V(+), Combo Booster V(+), Cascade V, Damage Cap V(+), Tyranny, and for mitigation, Potion Hoarder, Improved Dodge, Aegis, or Improved Guard, whatever you find yourself lacking in. The bolded are the must haves. Combo booster is important as Narmaya relies on attacking a lot and quickly in order to build her butterflies. Lastly, if you can afford any more slots, some Supplementary Damage would assist Narmaya in dealing damage beyond the damage cap.

Cascade V

  • Shortens skill cooldowns whenever you hit a foe. Effect strength changes based on the attack type.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Skill cooldown -1.5%

Combo Booster V

  • Gradually boosts damage of each successive hit. Effect resets if the next hit isn't made in time.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Boosts DMG dealt by a max of +70%.

Critical Damage V

  • Boosts damage dealt by critical hits.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, DMG dealt +35%

Critical Hit Rate V

  • Boosts critical hit rate.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Critical hit rate +19%

Damage Cap V

  • Raises the damage limit of attacks.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, ▢/△ attack DMG cap +45%
  • Skill DMG cap +45%
  • SBA DMG cap +45%

Conclusion

Narmaya is a high skill ceiling, difficult character to master, but if you do, you will be able to deal out a monstrous amount of damage, as well as attract away enemy attention if you decide to go that route. Once you get her gameplay rotation down however, she is one of the most fun characters to master, and even useful to the team as a buff dispeller and slow bot if you manage to land her counter. She is also one of the best cleave units with her zone attack, making her useful for farming trash mobs.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink Zeta Guide https://dotgg.gg/granblue-fantasy-relink-zeta-guide/ Sun, 04 Feb 2024 19:30:54 +0000 https://dotgg.gg/?p=10934 Zeta is a fire unit armed with a seal weapon named Arvess, and she excels at counters and speedy aerial attacks.

The post Granblue Fantasy: Relink Zeta Guide appeared first on DotGG.

]]>

Overview

Zeta works for the Society, a group that hunts primal beasts. She's armed with a contract weapon named Arvess, and she excels at counters and speedy aerial attacks, making her great for avoiding a lot of attacks. This guide will go over Zeta's gameplay loop, her best skills, best weapons, and optimal sigils!

Gameplay

Zeta's gameplay loop in order to deal maximum damage is very simple, albeit will take a bit of practice due to the timing required on her attack in order to keep the loop going. At all times, you want Arvess Fermare status applied to whatever it is you're attacking, and there are several ways of doing this, from some of Zeta's skills, to her unique passive Arvess Resonance which after at least 3 loop combos finishing with her triangle / Y attack, also applies this status effect. To quickly perform a high jump in order to start the loop, you can land a perfect counter with her Y / Triangle attack.

After this is applied, burn your skills, and then keep doing loop combos for as long as you are able, or until the status has gone away from the enemy, then repeat the steps above to re-apply the status effect, then do it all over again. I've made a short demonstration of one of her basic combo routes below, this is the quickest way to apply Arvess Fermare as well as deal the most damage while the debuff is active.

Skills

Realm's Majesty

  • Zeta readies to parry and counter. She inflicts Arvess Fermare upon countering and then high jumps off of the foe.
  • This ability grants the status ailment that you want applied to the enemy at all times, so this adds another method of doing so.
  • I would say this is not top priority for Zeta unless you struggle with precise dodges, as the damage output for this skill is pretty non-existent. Her normal counter seems to be more than suitable.

Infinite Wonders

  • Fires a piercing, multi-hit beam that can be activated up to 3 times in a row. Inflicts Arvess Fermare on hit.
  • By far one of Zeta's best and most useful skills, as not only does it deal considerable damage from a very far distance, but it also gets you 3 applications of Arvess Fermare
  • The quickest and easiest way to apply Arvess Fermare. You will likely be keeping this on your Zeta.

Spear of Arvess

  • A fast spear lunge. Zeta high jumps off of a foe on impact
  • This is an excellent combo starter skill, not only is it a great gap closer, but it also high jumps, allowing Zeta to instantly start her combo loop.
  • A lot of bosses move around a lot, so a move to catch up to it, think Dante's Stinger, will always come in handy. I would save a slot for this for boss runs.

Rain of Fury

  • Calls down a volley of spears from the sky. Spears inflict ATK⬇️ (20%) on hit.
  • This is a good option if you do not have another attack down debuffer on your squad, and also deals decent damage at a range.
  • If you do however have a designated attack debuffer, I would save this precious skill slot for something else.

Signo Drive

  • Grants ATK⬆️(25%) to the entire party
  • This is a straightforward, powerful attack buff to your entire party, making this very useful for multiplayer, or if you just want your Zeta to deal extra damage.
  • Keep in mind that same buffs do not stack, so if you have another attack buffer, they will overwrite one another (whichever is strongest)

Wingclipper

  • Zeta swings her spear 3 times in a row. Inflicts Paralysis on the third hit.
  • This skill is good at CC bosses, especially if they are about to cast a powerful move, paralysis can take them right out of it.
  • However, this move has deceivingly short range, and there are other units who offer much better CC at a safer and more consistent range, making this low priority, unless of course you're playing solo Zeta, in which case, this is a must.

Thousand Flames

  • An explosive attack that deals damage, inflicts Burn, and removes 1 buff from foes in the blast radius. Hold while casting to aim.
  • Not only does this deal DoT, but it also acts as a dispel. The damage is not the best, but if you do not have another dispeller in the squad, this is a must have support skill.

Vengeful Flames

  • Grants Supplementary DMG to Zeta (extra attack per hit at reduced damage)
  • In my opinion, a skill that should always be equipped to Zeta and used as soon as soon as it comes off CD when you have the opportunity to wail on a boss.

Skill Recommendations

If you want to maximize your damage output as Zeta, I would go with the first option. This forgoes her team utility skills outside of the attack buff, which benefits Zeta herself by giving her a nice attack boost, and not needing to count on someone else to give an attack buff.

If you want to maximize your team utility, go with the second option. This build offers dispel, attack buff, attack debuff, and a paralyze CC, overall giving your team a much easier time.

Best Weapon(s)

For Zeta, you want any weapon that will boost her damage output, including Crit Chance / Crit Damage, and outside of her Ascension and Terminus Weapon, which are obviously best in slot, the best forgeable weapons would be the Huanglong Spear, boosting weak point damage, which Zeta excels at targeting. At max, it gives you a total 50% bonus damage when attacking weak points.

Or alternatively, the Gisla, which boosts critical hit rate, allowing you to save on critical hit sigil slots in order to hit that 100% crit rate. At max, it gives you a total 50% critical hit damage bonus

Best Sigils

For Zeta, Crimson Flight, Crimson's Awakening, Crimson's Clout (available in Seiro's shop after unlocking Maniac), Critical Hit Rate V, Damage Cap V(+), Tyranny V(+) OR Injury to Insult V(+), War Elemental are her ideal Sigils. Outside of that if you want more damage mitigation, go with Improved Dodge+ and Potion Hoarder V.

Critical Hit Rate V

  • Boosts critical hit rate.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Critical hit rate +19%

Damage Cap V

  • Raises the damage limit of attacks.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, ▢/△ attack DMG cap +45%
  • Skill DMG cap +45%
  • SBA DMG cap +45%

Tyranny V

  • Reduces maximum base health in exchange for a boost to attack.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, ATK +35%
  • Max HP -20%

Injury to Insult V

  • Deal more damage to foes inflicted with status ailments.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, DMG dealt +22%

Improved Dodge

  • Extends the window for foe attacks to miss during a dodge. Allows you to perform more dodges in a row.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Dodge count +4
  • Enhanced dodging ability

Potion Hoarder V

  • Increases the stock of recovery items.
  • Max Sigil Effect: T.Lvl 15, Green potion +3, blue potion +5, mega potion +5, revival potion +2

Over Mastery

Upon reaching level 80, you will unlock Over Mastery, and once you max out your normal mastery tree, you'll want to spend extra Masteries on your Over Mastery looking for +Damage Cap on Normal Attacks, Chain Attacks, Skill Attacks, and finally SBA attacks in that priority. Any additional stats are bonus, but damage cap is by far the most important so you can deal more damage.

Conclusion

In the right hands, Zeta is an incredibly strong character with an innate ability to not only counter attacks, but also dodge many attacks by staying high up in the air, while still dealing constant damage. She offers team utility with her support skills, or even higher damage with her offensive skills. She also applies a unique status ailment to enemies, boosting her damage even further. I highly recommend investing in Zeta, because not only is she powerful, but also super fun to play.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is an upcoming Action RPG developed by Cygames, based on the popular Japanese Gacha IP Granblue Fantasy, is coming to the PS5, PS4, and PC via Steam on Februrary 1st. Players can expect a wide variety of their favorite Granblue Fantasy characters to come to life in a brand new way, in this colorful, action packed, and just downright fun action game!

Overview

Promoted as a "fully realized, complete package" rather than what you expect from games released now to be a live service trying to take all of your cash and time, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, going by the demo released on January 11th/12th on the PS4/PS5, is a very promising game. Important to note, there are no gacha elements whatsoever in this game.

The game features a fully fledged story mode, which the developers noted that it takes around 20 hours to clear, but then more story becomes available, as well as challenging end game bosses. Check out some of the bosses in the game here, it's a visual treat!

This review, based on the demo available for PS4 and PS5, will go over the tidbit of story shown, gameplay, audio, and visuals.

Story

The story sees Gran, newcomer to the franchise Rolan, and the Skyfarer crew come across sudden turbulence while aboard their airship, coming to the realization that this wind is agitating nearby Goblins, causing them to go on a rampage and terrorize nearby locals. Gran and crew come to the rescue, defeating goblins and their captains, while also rescuing the town folk.

After defeating the big boss of the goblin invaders "Greatshield Madbeat", the crew come to the realization that the sudden strong gust of winds is caused by Tempeal's Primal Beast, and upon coming to that conclusion, the story for the demo concludes, leaving you on a nice cliffhanger.

I can't say much as to the overall quality of the story based on this "in the middle of things" demo, this is a very simple story mission, and just a small taste of what there is to come in the full story. There is not enough information for me to give the story a solid opinion yet. I personally think they should have given us the start of the game as a demo, but perhaps they wanted to avoid spoilers, even though the start of the game can be seen on YouTube already!

Gameplay

While I can't say much about the story, even if the story in the final game is not that impressive, where this game truly shines is in it's Gameplay. Originally, Relink was being developed by Platinum Games, but they eventually finished what they were contracted to do, and then the rest of the development was handed off internally to Cygames Osaka.

You can see the Platinum Games DNA all over this game, rather that be from the perfect dodges, air dodges, multiple ways to combo your attacks, launchers, air combos, and extremely flashy effects. However, they managed to make this unique from your standard Platinum Games affair by offering more nuanced combat, many different characters and gameplay styles, extensive character customization, and co-op multiplayer.

While there is still a healthy amount of playable characters in the demo, with there being 10, the full game is set to have 19 characters, will all but Gran and Djeeta offering vastly different playstyles and team roles. Each character has access to a wide variety of weapons, each providing unique passives so that it won't simply be upgrade to the highest attack number. There is also an ability tree for each, giving you the chance to unlock more skills to further customize and make each character your own.

The Sigil is where you'll truly get to build your favorite characters to your liking. Think of Sigils as armor skills or gems in Monster Hunter, where you have a limited number of slots, and depending on the total level of a specific sigil equipped, you get the corresponding enhancement, all the way up to level 45

Also similar to Monster Hunter and perhaps even PSO, is the gameplay structure. The game is NOT open world, but rather a hub based system where you select missions from a board, and then you and your party of AI or online embark on the quest. As far as we know, the story mode is only available with AI companions, but the online, or quest mode, is available with either AI or online companions.

Truly the shining star of the gameplay is the gameplay variety you get from each of the characters, with more to come via free updates throughout the life of the game! For example, Rackam, Helmsman of the airship Grandcypher, uses a long ranged rifle with special bullets to help your team from afar, to Siegfied, a slow, but heavy hitting dragonslayer who wields a greatsword, with the ability to charge, and perform perfect timing attacks to increase his damage output.

Audio

The music is another star point to Relink, with well known composers Nobuo Uematsu from Final Fantasy fame, as well as Tsutomu Narita, who worked on Xenoblade Chronicles X, as well as the fighting game Granblue Fantasy Versus. For just a small taste of the soundtrack, check out the official theme song!

There are confirmed to be a little over 140 songs throughout the game, and from the small amount I've heard in the demo, we're in for a musical treat!

One complaint I have with the audio however, is just the amount of chatter the team constantly quips out during combat. The audio balance here is not the best, with sometimes your teammates blasting your ear out, distorting the music, and sometimes not being able to hear them at all during intense combat moments. I hope this can be addressed during the full game, but if it's not, it's by no means a deal breaker.

Visuals

The game uses a gorgeous cell shaded anime look for it's characters and environment, while the background gives off a painterly look, giving it a very unique style to stand apart from it's counterparts. The visual effects are extremely well done and very active, albeit a bit visually cluttery at times, but I'm sure it's something we will get used to after hours of playing.

Unfortunately, at least on the PS5 version of the game, the 60 FPS mode is stuck at 1080p, causing the overall image to appear much more blurry. This also strangely effects the user interface as well, making the menus slightly less visually clear. I hope this is addressed, many games offer different resolutions for the game and user interface, that will help the 60 FPS mode look much better.

The 4K mode is locked to 30 FPS, which while some of you may find that suitable, for a fast paced action game that requires precise button presses and dodges, I don't think 30 FPS cuts it.

Check out a comparison between the two modes, as you can see, the 1080P mode is a blemish to an otherwise beautiful game. Luckily, if you plan to play on PC and have a decent rig, this shouldn't be an issue for you. Left is the Quality mode, Right is Performance.

Overall Thoughts

I've been looking forward to Granblue Fantasy: Relink ever since it was first announced many years ago, back when it was simply known as project relink. After being disappointed with Final Fantasy XVI, Relink seems to fill the void of a fun, action RPG with deep mechanics, as well as a wide variety of gameplay. Keep an eye out on this, and the full game releases in less than a month! Especially keep Relink on your radar if you're into grinding a lot for endgame, as well as difficult bosses that can be done either solo with AI, or with friends online!

Lycaon in Zenless Zone Zero is an S rank Agent who deals Ice anomaly and striking damage. He specializes in dealing massive daze to the enemy with his lightning fast kicks, giving your team excellent stunning potential.

Below, you will find the best Breaker DPS builds for Lycaon as of the ZZZ Equalizing Test. Rather you are a F2P player or a spender, this guide is for you! *Note that these builds assume base talent level.

Overview

Available on the standard banner, Lycaon, a stylish wolf with cold as ice kicks and is a member of Victoria Housekeeping, is an agent that relies on moderately fast attacks that deal heavy daze and ice damage to stun his opponents. Lycaon is able to charge his basic attack whenever he chooses, leading to increased daze damage. This, alone with his core passives and ultimate ability, make him the best single target daze agent in the game at the moment.

Due to Lycaon's high impact stat and daze multipliers from his attacks, he should be built as a Breaker DPS. A breaker's main goal is to cause stun onto enemies to allow for chain attacks, or for your main DPS to pack on the punishment while the enemy is CC'd. Now then, let us move on to the best W-Engines, Disc Drives, Stats, Skills, Bangboo, and Teams for Lycaon!

W-Engines

S - The Restrained

⭐ Impact%

Binding Chains (level 1 stats)

  • Ice DMG is increased by 25% in combat.
  • When a Basic Attack deals Ice DMG, the skill deals an additional 15% damage and Daze.
  • This W-Engine will further improve upon not only how much damage Lycaon deals, but more importantly, gives him an even greater boost to his Daze, which is his main role, making this a key W-Engine for them.
  • Impact Advanced Stat means that Lycaon will be even better at stunning enemies. This is best in slot.

A - Precious Fossilized Core

⭐ Impact%

Behemoth Hunter (level 1 stats)

  • Attacks against enemies with above or equal to 70% HP inflict 15% more Daze.
  • As a breaker such as Lycaon will likely be your opener, the enemies you attack will be above the HP threshold to apply the bonus daze.
  • Works best with either mini bosses (elites), or bosses, as trash mobs will likely be wiped out before them being stunned would even be a possibility.
  • Impact% advanced Stat works to further increase how easily Lycaon can accumulate daze and stun enemies.

B - [Vortex] Revolver

⭐ Impact%

Undercurrent (level 1 stats)

  • Basic attacks inflict 9% more Daze
  • The rare instance in which I can recommend a B rank, not only because of the excellent Impact% advanced stat, but also because of the bonus daze you get.
  • As this is a B rank, you should easily be able to max this out from just playing naturally, and in that case, Lycaon inflicts 18% more daze to his already high daze basic attacks, especially if they are charged.

Disc Drives + Stats

Option 1 - "Hunt Together"

4 Piece Shockstar Disco

2 Piece Polar Metal

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. ATK% or PEN Ratio% | VI. Impact%

Sub stats in order of priority:

1. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | 2PEN if you have any Pen Ratio | 3. ATK% | 4. Attribute Mastery

This build relies on Lycaon inflicting Stun as quickly and efficiently as possible. You want Impact% to be as high as you can get it on order for this build to work, and Lycaon has the best abilities and passives applying Daze damage that helps you take full advantage of this build. This is less damage focused and more of a team utility / support build. This is the build you want to go if you want Lycaon to be the best breaker he can be.

Option 2 - "Apex Predator"

4 Piece Vagabond Folk

2 Piece Polar Metal

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. ATK% or PEN Ratio% | VI. Impact%

Sub stats in order of priority:

1. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | 2PEN if you have any Pen Ratio | 3. ATK% | 4. Attribute Mastery

This is the more "selfish" build of the two, but this provides Lycaon with a deadly amount of daze. Considering his core passive when there is 1 strike and 1 slash agent increases Lycaons EX Special Attack Daze damage after performing a dodge counter by 22%, this build adds even more damage to the initial dodge counter, as well as the EX counter, but also assist attacks. This fits his overall kit a lot, but you have to drop the team utility of a teamwide attack buff in order to achieve it.

Skill Priority

ALWAYS PRIORITIZE CORE SKILL FIRST!!!

  1. Lycaon's basic attack has a charge mechanic, and you will be using it the most in order to achieve the most daze damage in the shortest amount of time.
  2. As Lycaon is a very short ranged fighter, you'll be performing a lot of dodge counters. His dodge counter also, with the help of his core passive, boosts the daze damage of his next EX Special.
  3. This follows the dodge as you first want to enhance the ex special by performing a dodge counter, but this deals plenty of daze damage by itself, especially if it is charged.
  4. This ultimate increases the amount of daze damage an enemy takes, so it's great to open up with this, then rotate your basic, dodge counter, and special.

Bangboo

S - Sharkboo

Key Trait - Increases damage of all Ice Agents by 25%.

As Lycaon is an Ice agent and he pairs best with other ice agents (see team comp), this gives the entire team a straightforward damage buff, which will help you in all your endeavors.

S - Butler

Key Trait - Increases CRIT Rate of all Agents by 14%, and the CRIT Rate of Victoria Housekeeping Co. Agents by an extra 14%

As Lycaon is a member of Victoria Housekeeping Co, Butler gives him an additional 28% crit rate. This is extremely helpful, but with Ellen Joe or any other Victoria Housekeeping main DPS in in the squad, this gives them an invaluable 28% crit rate, allowing them to roll for other stats than crit rate.

Optimal Team Comp

This team consisting of LycaonEllen Joe, and Soukaku gives you perfect ice synergy between all involved by checking off all the requirements in their Core Skill Additional Ability. For Lycaon, when there are at least 2 ice agents, whenever he performs a chain attack, the entire squad generates 2 energy, making him a battery unit on top of a daze applicator. Secondly, when there is at least 1 strike and 1 slash agent, whenever Lycaon's dodge counter hits an enemy, the next EX Special attack deals 22% increased daze, making his job to stun enemies that much easier.

If you cannot acquire these specific units, go for at least one of the bonuses. The one with the greatest return would be 1 strike and 1 slash agent, as that will overall help Lycaon perform better as your daze applicator.

Overall Thoughts

In my opinion, Lycaon is the best daze unit in the game, with his entire kit being focused on increasing the amount of daze damage he is able to deal, while also being relatively agile with his movements. He is also tanky compared to most units, with some of the highest base HP in the game thus far.

I fully believe that if you're building an ice team, Lycaon is invaluable to any comp, and highly recommend rolling or re-rolling for him, or to wait until he's on his own featured banner, but getting a good stun unit early on will help you have an easier time, so if you don't want to wait, I would simply re-roll.

Soldier 11 in Zenless Zone Zero is an S rank Agent who deals Fire anomaly and slash damage. She is able to deal heavy fire damage at a small AOE range, and her basic attacks can get enhanced by the use of Fire Suppression.

Below, you will find the best DPS builds for Soldier 11 as of the ZZZ Equalizing Test. Rather you are a F2P player or a spender, this guide is for you! *Note that these builds assume base talent level.

Overview

Available on the standard banner, Soldier 11, a straight to the point, highly skilled fighter apart of the OBOLS Squad, is a high attack agent who relies on her fire damage to wreak havoc to enemies that are around her immediate vicinity. She relies on her Fire Suppression mechanic, which involves pressing the basic attack button at the correct time, or after using her EX special or chain attack, in order to imbue her attacks with Fire in order to deal maximum damage. She also offers good team utility when there are at least 2 fire agents in the squad, as whenever burn is applied, the agent applying the burn gets 4 energy.

Soldier 11 should be built as a main DPS, as in order to maximize her damage output, you need her to stay on the field long enough to make use of her fire suppression status whenever it is activated, not to mention she has very high base attack, coming second to Nekomata, meaning she is built for high damage potential. Now then, comrade, let's go over the best W-Engines, Disc Drives, Stats, Skills, Bangboo, and Teams for Soldier 11!

W-Engines

S - Hellfire Gears

⭐ PEN Ratio

Passionate Construction (level 1 stats)

  • Fire DMG is increased by 25%
  • When using an EX Special Attack, Impact is increased by 15%, this can stack up to 3 times, lasting 6 seconds each. Stack durations are calculated separately.
  • While Solider 11 is not an impact unit, the fire damage boost is very valuable as most of Soldier 11's attacks, if you take advantage of fire suppression, deal fire damage, thus this gives her a big damage boost.
  • The impact boost will still help the rest of your team build up stun faster on the enemy.
  • PEN Ratio advanced stat means that Soldier 11 will penetrate more of the enemy defenses, thus dealing more damage.

S - Canon Rotor

⭐ Attribute Mastery

Oversized Barrel (level 1 stats)

  • Crit Rate is increased by 16%.
  • Attacks that deal a CRIT on an enemy will deal an additional 275% ATK as damage. This effect can only trigger once every 5 seconds.
  • Soldier 11 has the second highest base attack in the game thus far at 929, meaning the 275% ATK bonus will scale very nicely.
  • Attribute Mastery advanced stat will help Soldier 11 to apply the burn more, which will help not only deal higher damage, but also charge more energy with her core passive.

A - Starlight Engine

⭐ ATK%

Knight Plummel (level 1 stats)

  • Launching a Chain Attack increases ATK by 24% for 10s
  • With how high Soldier 11's attack is, when she comes off from a chain attack, this will give her a sizeable damage boost, and when Soldier 11 comes off a chain attack, she gains Fire Suppression, boosting her basic attack with fire damage.
  • ATK% advanced stat will further scale nicely with her already high base attack.

A - Electro-Lip Gloss

⭐ Attribute Mastery

Kiss of Death (level 1 stats)

  • Deal 40% more Attribute Anomaly Damage
  • 40% more burn damage could be very effective if you are to consistently apply the effect to enemies by making use of her Fire Suppression.
  • More Attribute Mastery = easier for Nekomata to apply assault, which with at least 2 physical agents in the squad, assault can give you a massive burst of damage.

Disc Drive + Stats

Option 1 - "Mission Critical"

4 Pieces Woodpecker Electro

2 Pieces Inferno Metal

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. ATK% | VI. Anomaly Rate% or ATK%.

Sub stats in order of priority:

1.  CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | 2. ATK% | 3. Attribute Mastery | 4. ATK

This build is for if you want Soldier 11 to become a critical hit specialist. As her base attack is currently the second highest in the game, any ATK% or flat attack roll will help you to dish out more damage. You will want as high crit rate as you can afford in order to constantly trigger the Woodpecker Electro 4-piece set bonus, and as Soldier 11 attacks moderately fast, it shouldn't be too difficult to achieve.

For VI, you can go with either ATK% or Anomaly Rate%, if you're finding yourself itching for more burn triggers, go for Anomaly Rate%.

Option 2 - "Operation Firestorm"

4 Pieces Inferno Metal

2 Pieces Woodpecker Electro

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. ATK% | VI. Anomaly Rate%

Sub stats in order of priority:

1.  CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | 2. ATK% | 3. Attribute Mastery | 4. ATK

This build is for if you want Soldier 11 to specialize in dealing maximum damage output to burnt enemies, by granting her a massive boost to her already high base attack when she is attacking a burnt enemy, plus the crit bonus from woodpecker. For this, you absolutely want to go with anomaly rate% on her VI piece, as well as get some good attribute mastery rolls on her substats for more burn proc and damage. With optimal team, burn will also grant Soldier 11 extra energy to increase her overall damage output even more.

Skill Priority

ALWAYS PRIORITIZE CORE SKILL FIRST!!!

  1. You want to prioritize Soldier 11's basic attack first, as that is where the bulk of her fire damage comes from upon activating Fire Suppression.
  2. You will be using Soldier 11's EX Special a lot, as not only does it deal good damage, but it also triggers Fire Suppression, making this a key skill.
  3. Soldier 11's core passive increases the damage of her dash attack, making this third priority as you will be using it a lot.
  4. A heavy hitting fire damage attack with small AOE, and also activates Fire Suppression. As a main DPS, the other skills are priority as you'll be using them the most and will be Soldier 11's main damage, but definitely do not ignore her ultimate!

Bangboo

S - Butler

Key Trait - Butler creates a heartfelt afternoon snack. The snack will generate Energy for the receiving Agent, and apply an ATK buff based on own stats.

While Butler will not grant anyone in the optimal team any bonus crit rate apart from the 14%, what's special about Butler for Soldier 11's case is the buff mechanic, where Butler will grant various buffs, and among those, is an energy gen buff. This goes hand in hand with Soldier 11's core passive when there are at least 2 fire agents that grant the team even more energy.

S - Amillion

Key Trait - Increases CRIT DMG of all Agents by 28%, and the CRIT DMG of Cunning Hares Agents by an extra 28%

Soldier 11 currently has no Bangboo that benefits Fire Damage or OBOLS squad, but Amillion in particular benefits her by not only increasing her crit damage by 28%, but it will boost Anby's crit damage by 46%, which is currently a member of her optimal team as a impact unit.

Optimal Team Comp

This team consisting of Soldier 11, Ben, and Anby will grant Soldier 11 both of her core passives, which with 2 fire agents, whenever either apply burn, they get 4 energy, and with 2 slash agents, Soldier 11's fire damage is increased, and further increased when attacking stunned enemies. Currently, there is no way get all of her passives unlocked with a mono fire team, as there is no second fire slash agent, but Anby in this case will act as the teams impact unity, while Ben is your support DPS.

As Ben and Anby are both A rarity units, it should not be too difficult for you to get a hold of them, so for now, this is the optimal team comp, guaranteeing Soldier 11 can take advantage of her full kit.

Overall Thoughts

Not only is Soldier 11 an excellent fire main DPS, but also a decent utility unit for other fire agents, as her abilities are efficient at not only applying burn, but granting extra energy upon applying that burn. She is easy to use, moderately mobile, has decent attack speed, and deals an abundance of fire damage. Overall, a great unit to act as a fire damage agent. As she is your best pick for fire DPS, if your favorite element is fire, I would recommend going for her if she gets featured on a banner.

This is our preliminary tier list for all of the W-Engines that are currently in Zenless Zone Zero as of the second closed beta (Equalizing Test). Think of W-Engines as weapons in Genshin Impact or Light Cones in Star Rail. This tier list will be updated regularly as new updates and balance changes are implemented to ZZZ, so stay tuned!

Tier List

Attention, all proxies! This is a list of all available W-Engines that will prove valuable to you on your commissions. We will be going over the W-Engine, their ranking, and quick explanation as to why they've earned their rank!

*This list takes into account base ascension level. Also, this list is in no particular order outside of the main ranking.

Tier List Explanation

  • S+ Tier: The best W-Engines in the game. These should be considered best in slot for role / element combinations.
  • S Tier: W-Engines that are exceptional and will serve you very well for a long time to come.
  • A Tier: These W-Engines are about average, but for certain agents, the W-Engines in this tier can be excellent.
  • B Tier: W-Engines that are below average and should only be used temporarily until you can get your hands on something better.

S+ Tier

Hellfire Gears

Excellent for fire-based stun agents (and to a lesser extent fire main DPS) as not only does it increase fire damage and provide pen ratio as the additional stat, but also gives a stackable increase to their impact damage, making it easier to stun enemies.

Steel Cushion

Amazing for physical based main DPS units, especially for units who are mobile and can easily get behind an enemy. To add, you get increased crit rate.

The Restrained

This was built for ice-based daze units, with a healthy increase to daze and general damage, ice damage, as well as impact percent. This will make your job as an ice stunner much easier.

Big Cylinder

This is best in slot for defensive based DPS characters, which at the moment is only Ben, and Ben is an agent who I consider to be top tier, so this follows by giving him more defense, reduced damage, and increased attack and guaranteed crit when he takes a hit, allowing you to ignore building crit rate for your tank. With your high defense and reduced damage, you could tank hits just to get that increased attack and guaranteed crit for your next attack, which includes your basic, dodge attack, special or ultimate.

S Tier

Deep Sea Visitor

This is an excellent W-Engine for ice-based DPS as your crit rate is increased upon attacking a frozen enemy. Apart from that, you get increased attack% as part of the additional stat and as part of the W-Engine. The only downside is that for the increased crit, you must attack a frozen enemy, and not every enemy can be frozen, especially bigger bosses.

Demara Battery Mark II

This is a fantastic choice for main DPS agents who deal a lot of electricity in their attacks, as not only does it increase your electric damage, but also gives you a burst of energy periodically everytime you dodge, making it so that you can use your EX special more often for higher damage output.

Electro-Lip Gloss

One of the best general options for support units, as this will help them deal more damage with their attribute anomalies, as well as boost their attribute mastery with the additional stat, making their elemental damage output even higher.

Cannon Rotor

Another great option for support units, and semi good option for main DPS. This gives you more crit rate, and your crit hits a big boost to attack, which can only happen periodically, so when switching to your support DPS, the cooldown should be reset, and another crit attack boost applied. Also, the additional stat being attribute mastery further helps your support DPS deal more elemental damage.

Steam Oven

A fantastic choice for defense scaling units, although I think Big Cylinder is the superior choice as not only does it reduce damage, but upon taking a hit, gives you increased damage and a guaranteed crit, allowing you to spec into other stats than crit rate at the exchange of a hit. The only thing Steam Oven does is increased damage on your EX-Specials scaled on your defense periodically, which while great, is second to Big Cylinder.

A Tier

Drill Rig - Red Axis

This is a good choice for electric main DPS agents that have electric attacks on their basic, however, it has limited use and recharge time, not to mention, basic attack scaling is not the best. You do get crit rate as your additional stat however, which is great for main DPS.

Housekeeper

This was built for physical support agents, as they get increased energy while they sit in reserves, and when they pop their ex special, a stackable physical damage increase is applied. However, the time that the buffs last is incredibly short, meaning this is good for very specific units, and currently that only unit is Corin with her chainsaw that attacks multiple times in rapid succession, granting maximum stacks.

Precious Fossilized Cor

This is a good choice for your daze / stun units, as it increases the amount of daze that attacks deal against enemies with 70% or more HP. The only downside, of course, is that this effect is null when enemies go below that threshold. As a bonus, you get impact% as your additional stat, which will also help your stun agent.

Starlight Engine

This W-Engine is good for when your main DPS is coming off of a chain attack as it gives them an attack boost for a certain amount of time, so it will pair nicely for units with other chain attack bonuses.

Starlight Engine Replica

This W-Engine is built for ranged main DPS characters who use their basic attack a lot, as when they reach a certain distance away from the enemy, they deal extra damage. Not to mention you get PEN ratio as your additional stat, increasing your damage potential when paired with PEN.

The Vault

This is a good choice for support DPS units who have chain attacks or ex specials that have a lot of hits within a short time period, as the defense reduction has a very limited time frame upon executing a chain attack or special ex. The first hit of a chain or special would trigger it, and then any extra hits after would benefit from the foes reduced defense.

B Tier

[Lunar] Crescent

This is a secretly good B rank W-Engine for agents that scale off of defense, which currently is only Ben. Whenever you are attacked, you gain a defense bonus, which if you combine with every other method of gaining defense such as through disc drive stats, you can boost up your defense by a lot. And not to mention, since this is a B rank, you'll easily be able to max this one out for a whopping 40% increased defense upon getting hit. However, there are far better defensive W-Engines, so replace this as soon as you get either of the ones mentioned in S or S+ rank.

[Magnetic Storm] Alpha

This is an okay W-Engine for support DPS units as it allows them to more quickly apply anomaly build up, however, ones that increase how much damage anomaly does is more valuable, as you can increase anomaly build up in other ways, and damage is much more important.

[Magnetic Storm] Bravo

You get a boost to attribute mastery at the start of a fight. While if this is maxed out you get a 64% boost, it does not last long enough for this to be worth using over any other support DPS W-Engine in the above tiers.

[Magnetic Storm] Charlie

This is just a weaker version of Electro-Lip Gloss, so this would be temporary until you're able to get your hands on that one if you want your support DPS to deal more attribute anomaly damage.

[Reverb] Mark I

This is a weaker version of Starlight engine replica. There is no reason to use this as other than a slight damage boost to ranged attacks until you can get a hold of Starlight Engine Replica.

[Reverb] Mark II

This W-Engine provides the opposite effect of [Reverb] Mark I, where the closer the attack is, the more damage it deals. This is okay as a temporary w-engine for closed ranged DPS units, but any other main DPS mentioned in the above ranks will offer you better returns.

[Reverb] Mark III

This is arguably the best B-rank W-Engine for main DPS as it is a straight-forward damage boost to all of your basic and special attacks, and it even comes with a crit rate additional stat. This is a great pick if you have no other A thru S+ W-Engines left to use for your main DPS, but as soon as you get any, put this back on the shelf, as the scaling for B-rank is not desirable for main DPS in the long run.

[Vortex] Arrow

This is a B-Rank W-Engine for your stunner / daze unit, as your ex-special attacks deal more daze damage when your HP is equal or above 75%. Straight-forward, but there are better daze W-Engines even in this same tier, as the additional stat here is HP, which is not very useful for a stun unit.

[Vortex] Hatchet

This W-Engine gives your stunner a temporary impact bonus. As the impact bonus is nice, it is only temporary, which for a stunner who would be active for a long time doing their job, and that there is a better daze w-engine in B rank, this should only be used if you have no other daze w-engine available.

[Vortex] Revolver

This is arguably the best B-Rank W-engine for your stunner, as it causes your basic attacks to deal more daze, and your additional stat is impact, which will also help your stunning capabilities. I would use this until you can get your hands on something in the above tiers related to daze or impact.

Zenless Zone Zero Bangboo Tier List https://dotgg.gg/zenless-zone-zero-bangboo-tier-list/ Thu, 28 Dec 2023 15:19:43 +0000 https://dotgg.gg/?p=6463 Best Zenless Zone Zero Bangboo, their ranking, and simple explanations as to why they've earned their rank.

The post Zenless Zone Zero Bangboo Tier List appeared first on DotGG.

]]>
This is our preliminary tier list for all of the Bangboo that are currently in Zenless Zone Zero as of the second closed beta (Equalizing Test). You might be asking, why a Bangboo tier list? Simple! They are tied to the gacha (aka money) mechanic, and you should know rather what you got or are gunning for is good! Think of them as pets in other gacha games. This list will be updated regularly as new updates and balance changes are implemented to ZZZ, so stay tuned!

Tier List

Attention, all proxies! This is a list of all available bangboo that are willing to assist you on commissions. We will be going over the bangboo, their ranking, and simple explanation as to why they've earned their rank!

*This list takes into account base ascension level

A TierSharkboo
⁍ Amillion
B Tier⁍ Exploreboo
⁍ Devilboo
⁍ Luckyboo

C Tier⁍ Sumoboo
D Tier⁍ Bagboo
CBT2 Tier List

Tier List Explanation

  • S Tier: These bangboo not only offer game altering stats or damage bonuses, but also provide buffs to the squad, or debuffs to the enemy, making them very valuable.
  • A Tier: The bangboo that typically offer game altering stats or damage bonuses, but no buffs or debuffs.
  • B Tier: These bangboo offer decent stats / damage bonuses, or mild buffs and debuffs
  • C Tier: The bangboo that offer small stat increases or damage bonuses
  • D Tier: These bangboo offer negligible stats and are best to be ignored, as mostly any other alternative would be better.

S Tier

Butler

Butler is at the top of this tier list because not only do they provide a highly valuable crit rate increase allowing you to sacrifice crit rate rolls on your gear, but also provides an attack buff and energy increase up to 3 times per minute for the agent you're current playing as. Attack buff is obvious, but the sudden boost in energy could make the difference between life and death in some situations. Even if you are not using Housekeeping Co agents, which they receive double the amount of crit rate increase, I would still recommend bringing Butler along if you're lacking in crit rate for your team and for the bonus attack and energy.

Safety

Safety increases the PEN ratio of the squad, and doubles the effect for Belebog agents, providing more damage penetration, which is valuable for bosses with high defense. Not only that, but Safety also debuffs a single target's defense up to 4 times a minute, making them a useful assistant in taking down tankier foes overall.

A Tier

Sharkboo

Sharkboo offers a large damage increase to all of your ice agents, so if you are using majority ice agents in your squad or if your main damage dealer is an ice unit, this is an easy recommendation, given you don't need the stats that those in S rank provide. Sharkboo also deals high ice anomaly damage, giving your ice units an easier time to apply freeze and to CC the enemy, which could also prove very helpful in various situations.

Amillion

Amillion gives you a very valuable crit damage stat increase and doubles the effect for Cunning Hares agents. This is valuable as it will allow you to either pump the teams crit damage to new heights, or sacrifice crit damage rolls for your gear, allowing you to specialize somewhere else if you so choose.

B Tier

Exploreboo

While Exploreboo only offers you a small defense increase, which is not that desirable, they have an RNG buff mechanic that can either heal, provide an HP shield, or give you some extra energy to the agent currently on the field. While the buffs are small, they are applied up to 4 times a minute, and certain ones such as healing could be literally life or death, so keep that in mind!

Devilboo

Devilboo will provide a decent damage boost to Ether agents, as well as applying high Ether anomaly damage to foes, meaning it would be easier for the corrupt effect to be applied when combined with other Ether agents.

Luckyboo

Luckyboo provides a decent crit rate increase to your entire party. Any boost to crit rate is helpful, and even though the crit rate increase does not compare to those above it, will still increase your odds of hitting crits. This boost is not enough to sacrifice crit rate rolls for your gear, however.

Paperboo

Paperboo provides a decent, squad wide attack increase. Straightforward, but effective, as an increase in attack will help your team overall deal more damage and clear out arenas quicker. The attack increase is not the biggest though, which is why Paperboo is only at B rank, as those above him offer more bang for your buck.

C Tier

Sumoboo

Sumoboo will increase the damage that physical agents in your squad will deal. The damage increase is small when compared to the damage increases you get in the above tiers, which is why they are at C. If you have no other alternative for your physical squad, Sumoboo a decent temporary pick.

D Tier

Bagboo

Bagboo only offers a negligible increase to the squad's HP, which while it may increase your survivability, the amount of HP increase is so little, any other option will likely see much greater returns.

Update / Change Log

Updates / changes to the tier list will go here, as well as brief explanations. Usually as gacha games get older and get more updates, power-creep is introduced, causing pets (bangboo) to move down the list in order to make new pets more appealing, so expect the same here.

CBT2 Tier List

Tier List Explanation

  • S+ Tier: These agents are the best of the best, offering top mobility / defense, damage / support options, unique mechanics, skill ceiling, daze capability, and overall longevity in the meta.
  • S Tier: The agents that excel in one or more of their main roles, rather that be support, main DPS, or daze applicator. Typically, only 1 agent per element and role, so for example, only 1 fire daze unit.
  • A Tier: The agents that perform their role as expected.
  • B Tier: These agents are generally competent, but there are probably other agents that fulfill their niches a little better.

S+ Tier

Ellen

As seemingly the first limited character, it's no shocker as to why Ellen is at the top of this list. Her penetration stat along with her flurry of fast attacks, as well as her unique Roaming State mechanic applying ice on her weapon ensues ice destruction. Her core passive has a natural crit damage increase, and her dodge is packed full of mechanics to boost her damage potential, making her the quintessential ice main DPS. However, she has a very high skill ceiling in order to reach that potential. For more information as to why Ellen is so good (and desirable), check out my build guide HERE

Nicole

Nicole, the sole ether agent, is currently the only unit capable of group wide crowd control by means of her gravity pull abilities on her special, chain attack, and ultimate, making her incredibly valuable for dealing with large groups of enemies, especially for time attack situations. Nicole will only improve as more Ether units are released. Her core abilities increase her daze capability and stun damage multipliers, making her even a decent stun unit. As she is currently the only agent with exceptional crowd control and grouping abilities, she's earned her S+ rank.

Ben

Ben, the first "tank" of ZZZ, boasting the highest defense stat and kit that scales with his defense, deals slow physical and fire damage, and applies shields to himself, and with his core passive, to the team in order for them to sustain a little extra damage. With enough player skill, Ben has the ability to literally parry any attack with his special or ex special, making him an expert boss killer. Ben is like playing as Sekiro (credit to The Game Club) when you get the rhythm down good enough. In fact, he was the top choice in CN when fighting bosses due to the forgiving timing window of the block.

To add, since his damage scales with his defense, even if you do miss a few parries, Ben could easily just shake it off as you would spec into defensive gear. Due to this extremely good mechanic (don't be surprised if this is nerfed at launch), and also the ability to provide damage mitigation, which is important as there is currently no agent that can heal HP, Ben sits at S+ rank. Zhongli, but bear.

S Tier

Rina

Rina, with one of the highest base attribute masteries in the game, is an excellent electric support DPS who can not only offer utility for the team, but also massive burst damage in both physical and electric forms. She can safely keep at a distance from her foes, and her dodge is highly mobile, making it easy to play keep away with enemies to avoid damage. Her core abilities allow for damage buffs to the entire team, as well as enhanced shock damage. For more information on Rina, check out my build guide HERE

Grace

Grace, with her natural PEN Ratio and high elemental mastery, makes for an excellent choice for support DPS, doubly so thanks to her wide AOE special and ultimate, applying electric and shock damage in a wide area. Her dodge, much like Ellen's, is a useful tool of hers as it does not interrupt her combo, meaning she can weave in dodge with any of her attacks and not lose much DPS. Her core passive recharges energy for the entire squad, making her have team utility, as well. Overall, a great agent for AOE shock application. For more information on Grace, check out my build guide HERE

Billy

Billy, a ranged physical support DPS unit, is a great option for dealing AOE physical damage from a safe distance, as well as the ability to quickly fill up the assault anomaly due to his core passive. His ultimate can also safely damage an entire arena, who is currently the only unit in the game that has that ability. If you want a strong physical unit who can chill from the back attacking from a distance, Billy is your man.

Lycaon

Lycaon is a stylish, high impact ice unit capable of dealing massive Daze attacks. He is arguably the best daze applicator in the game, with his fast attacks, and core passives that allow him to boost his already high daze skills. He is an exceptional unit in an ice team comp as the front-runner to CC enemies, then to allow your main DPS such as Ellen to come in to wreak havoc. He will be essential to ice comps for quite a while as your stagger agent.

Nekomata

Nekomata is currently the best main DPS physical agent in the game. She attacks by using very fast, but close ranged attacks, and mainly deals with enemies one on one, with the exception of her chain / ultimate attack. She deals more damage upon executing a perfect dodge or attacking stunned enemies and has high base crit rate in order to help her deal more damage. To top it off, she has a built-in mechanic with her basic attack that allows her to quickly get behind her enemy, allowing for easy setups with Steel Cushion, or to avoid attacks. To learn more about Nekomata, check out my build guide HERE

Soldier 11

Soldier 11, a great choice for a main fire DPS agent, not only has high damage, but is also a fantastic support and burn applicator. While she is on the team, when any fire agent including herself applies burn, they generate 4 energy, also making her a battery unit. After using her ultimate, all of her basic attacks will deal increased damage and fire, and as a bonus, whenever she attacks stunned enemies, her fire damage is increased by a further 20%.

Kaleda + Ben

While Kaleda is alright on her own, with Ben, she gets a damage boost in all of her most hard-hitting abilities, giving her that edge to get her to S rank. Kaleda is a fire daze applicator that when paired with Ben, does even more daze, thus making her perform her role that much better. With Ben, Koleda also gets more invulnerable attack frames, as well as anti-interrupt for her skill, allowing her to be a little extra tanky as well as dealing more damage. For more information on Koleda, check out my build guide HERE

A Tier

Kaleda

Kaleda is a high impact fire unit who specializes in dealing daze as well as fire and burn damage, and her daze is increased when attacking with fire with the use of her Furnace Fire ability. While she is solid on her own, without her main bear Ben, she is not at her full base potential, therefore I cannot place her into S, but she is still highly versatile thanks to her daze application capabilities.

Anby

Anby is an electric DPS daze applicator unit with an excellent core passive ability that can increase her daze multipliers to a considerable amount. Her damage output, while okay, is not impressive enough to push her to S rank, but if you need an electric daze applicator, then Anby will fit into your squad.

Anton

Anton is a DPS electric pierce unit who attacks at a close range, who comes with two modes, one for physical, the other for electric. His core abilities give him increased stun and damage, while his special and ultimate has decent AOE. You should not have him as your main DPS, instead, keep him in second or third position in your team, so you can chain into an EX-Special that can clear the field in one burst. With his base high crit rate, you should find some good results from him, especially against dazed and mechanical enemies.

Soukaku

While Soukaku's damage output is not nearly the best, her support and daze capabilities make her a very solid ice unit. Her chain attack inflicts a lot of ice damage, and it surrounds her in a vortex, letting you apply the damage to a wide area around her. Her Fly The Flag stance allows her to send out ranged ice attacks, allowing her to keep her distance. Soukaku's Masked state upon activating her ultimate also allows her to inflict heavy daze damage, making her very versatile. Unfortunately, due to the speed of her attacks and her support attack leaving her stuck in place for a long time, she is often vulnerable, and is easily whacked by bosses, hence why she is at the bottom of A rank.

B Tier

Corin

Corin is a physical main DPS unit who attacks at a close range, with an ultimate and core passive that lowers enemies' physical resistance, as well as increased damage when attacking stunned enemies. Her versatility is lacking for a main DPS, with attacks that often keep her stuck in place, and suffers from short ranged, slow attacks, leaving her at risky positions. Fortunately, her utility of lowering an enemy's physical resistance means she would still be good in a physical team, and good for attacking enemies when they are stunned due to it dealing increased damage, however, I would not consider her among the best choices for physical DPS.

Update / Change Log

Updates / changes to the tier list will go here, as well as brief explanations. Usually as gacha games get older and get more updates, power-creep is introduced, causing characters to move down the list in order to make new characters more appealing, so expect the same here.

December 2023

  • (12-26-23) After discussion with people online, Ben is actually really good as a boss killer due to his defensive counter / parry being very abusable. Moving him up to top of A rank.
  • (12-26-23) Added new row, S+, moved Ellen up to S+ as she excels in movement and damage.
  • (12-27-23) After more playtesting, made several adjustments. Moved Anton from B -> A due to damage potential, Billy from A -> S due to attack range and arena ultimate, Soukaku from S -> A due to slow attacks often getting her stunned locked coming off an assist.
  • (12-27-23) Adjusted positioning of Rina, Grace, Lycaon, and Soldier 11.
  • (12-28-23) Moved Nekomata from A -> S due to her damage potential, Nicole from S -> S+ due to her crowd control and grouping capabilities being a unique and extremely useful mechanic. Moved Ben from A -> S+ after realizing how busted his parry on his special is and damage mitigation (shields) is very important in a game with no traditional healing.

Koleda Belobog in Zenless Zone Zero is an S rank Agent who deals Fire anomaly and strike damage. She is a slow, but heavy hitter who specializes in stunning enemies with her giant hammer and dealing massive fire damage her Furnace Fire mechanic.

Below, you will find the best Breaker DPS builds for Koleda as of the ZZZ Equalizing Test. Rather you are a F2P player or a spender, this guide is for you! *Note that these builds assume base talent level.

Overview

Available on the standard banner, Koleda, a short but fierce president of Belobog Industries, is an agent that relies on slow but deliberate attacks that deal heavy daze and fire damage to stun her opponents. When combined with her right-hand bear Ben, she gets a damage and daze boost to her basic, special attacks and ultimate, so it is recommended he stays with her. Her unique mechanic Furnace Fire, gained upon executing a special EX attack or ultimate, can turn her basic attacks into enhanced fire attacks.

Due to Koleda's high impact stat and daze multipliers from her attacks, she should be built as a Breaker DPS. A breaker's main goal is to cause stun onto enemies to allow for chain attacks, or for your main DPS to pack on the punishment while the enemy is CC'd. Now that that's all out of the way, let's go over the best W-Engines, Disc Drives, Stats, Skills, Bangboo, and Teams for Koleda!

W-Engines

S - Hellfire Gears

⭐ PEN Ratio

Passionate Construction (level 1 stats)

  • Fire DMG is increased by 25%
  • When using an EX Special Attack, Impact is increased by 15%, this can stack up to 3 times, lasting 6 seconds each. Stack durations are calculated separately.
  • Since Koleda is built as a high impact unit, this overall helps the rate at which she can daze units, dependent on how many EX special attacks you can pull off in the short time frame.
  • Fire Damage increase is strong for Koleda, as her fire attacks deal heavy damage after the conditions to activate Furnace Fire are met.
  • PEN Ratio advanced stat means that Koleda will penetrate more of the enemy defenses, thus dealing more damage.

A - Precious Fossilized Core

⭐ Impact%

Behemoth Hunter (level 1 stats)

  • Attacks against enemies with above or equal to 70% HP inflict 15% more Daze.
  • Works in conjunction with a breaker DPS build, and Koleda already has a lot of impact and daze build up moves.
  • Works best with either mini bosses (elites), or bosses, as trash mobs will likely be wiped out before them being stunned would even be a possibility.
  • Impact% advanced Stat works to further increase how easily Koleda can accumulate daze and stun enemies.

B - [Vortex] Revolver

⭐ Impact%

Undercurrent (level 1 stats)

  • Basic attacks inflict 9% more Daze
  • The rare instance in which I can recommend a B rank, not only because of the excellent Impact% advanced stat, but also because of the bonus daze you get.
  • As this is a B rank, you should easily be able to max this out from just playing naturally, and in that case, Koleda inflicts 18% more daze to her already high daze basic attacks.

Disc Drives + Stats

Option 1 - "Teamwork, Dreamwork!"

4-Pieces Shockstar Disco

2-Pieces Inferno Metal

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. ATK% or PEN Ratio% | VI. Impact%

Sub stats in order of priority:

1. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | 2PEN if you have any Pen Ratio | 3. ATK% | 4. Attribute Mastery

This build relies on Koleda inflicting Stun as quickly and efficiently as possible. You want Impact% to be as high as you can get it on order for this build to work, and Koleda's abilities and passives already give big bonuses to Daze that helps you take full advantage of this build. This is less damage focused on Koleda's part, and more of a team enabler build. This is the true breaker build.

Option 2 - "Burn, Baby!"

4-Pieces Inferno Metal

2-Pieces Shockstar Disco

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. ATK% or PEN Ratio% | VI. Impact% or Anomaly Rate%

Sub stats in order of priority:

1. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | 2PEN if you have any Pen Ratio | 3. ATK% | 4. Attribute Mastery

This build is if you want Koleda herself to deal extra damage and don't mind if you sacrifice some team utility. Her abilities still allow her to stun relatively quickly, and if you're feeling like you're missing out on some DPS, go with this build. For VI, you can go Impact or Anomaly for either more stuns, or more burn damage.

Skill Priority

ALWAYS PRIORITIZE CORE SKILL FIRST!!!

  1. Koleda + Ben combination has a very high daze multiplier on her special, as well as very high damage multiplier, making this a must for the breaker DPS build. The special EX move also activates Koleda's core additional ability, inflicting more burn damage.
  2. Again, Koleda with Ben basic attacks have high daze multipliers, especially the 4th hit, and attacks enhanced with Furnace Fire, making this next priority in order to effectively stun your opponents.
  3. With the fated Koleda and Ben duo, this offers some of the highest burst Daze in the game, but not as effective at applying daze as the skills mentioned above.
  4. Nothing special about the dodge, and no bonus from having Ben in her team, making this bottom priority.

Bangboo

S - Safety

Key Trait - Increases PEN Ratio of all Agents by 17.5%, and the PEN Ratio of Belobog Industries Agents by an additional 17.5%

Koleda and Ben are associated with Belobog Industries, and I believe these two should always be matched together, so with Safety, you will get the most bang out of your buck. This will give them both a total of 35% PEN Ratio to decimate enemy defenses. If you go this route, make sure you roll for PEN for your sub stats in order to take advantage of it.

Optimal Team Comp

As of now, this team consisting of Koleda, Ben, and Soldier 11 ensures fire synergy between all involved by checking off almost all of their Core Skill Additional Ability. For Koleda, when there are at least 2 fire agents, whenever she hits an enemy with an EX Special attack, the amount of burn damage the target takes is increased by 22.5%. This can be applied twice, and resets whenever the burn effect ends. Secondly, when there are at least 1 strike and 1 slash agent in the squad, Koleda inflicts 15% more Daze when dealing Fire DMG. Currently, the roster of agents cannot satisfy all core abilities in this squad, as Soldier 11 needs 2 Slash agents on top of 2 fire agents, but as of now, she fulfills the main fire DPS role that Koleda and Ben needs for that burn buildup.

If you are unable to attain these specific units, just Koleda and Ben should be enough fire DPS to cause burn, and there should be free methods to obtain Ben, if the events in the equalizing test is anything to go by.

Overall Thoughts

Koleda is an excellent unit that is an expert in applying daze to enemies and is best played as a team utility unit rather than as a straight DPS, aka, as a Breaker. If you combine her with Ben, which you should, all of her attacks are enhanced to deal even more damage and daze, which overall makes her more effective at her role.

If you're looking for a fire breaker unit, then rolling for Koleda is a no brainer. However, if she is tied to standard banner, I would wait for her to be featured, unless you're willing to spend ad-nauseum for a chance to get her! Let's hope there is a system in place similar to Star Rail where after enough pulls, you can just pick her in a selector.

Alexandrina Sebastiane, who often goes by Rina in Zenless Zone Zero is an S rank Agent who deals Electric anomaly and ranged striking damage. She has a unique playstyle consisting of two puppets, each of which can either apply electric or physical damage.

Below, you will find the support DPS builds for Rina as of the ZZZ Equalizing Test. Rather you are a F2P player or a spender, this guide is for you! *Note that these builds assume base talent level.

Overview

Available on the standard banner (as of current test), Rina, a maid apart of Victoria Housekeeping, is an S rank agent who deals ranged strike (physical) and electric damage with the use of her two puppets Drusilla and Anastasia. Rina is unique in the fact that instead of running on the ground like every other agent thus far, she floats, and has a very wide dodge, making it easy for her to play keep away from her enemies and poke them from a safe distance to apply massive electric and shock damage.

In my opinion, her kit is built around utility for an electric based team by offering buffs to the team when her puppets are out on the field, thus, I recommend building her as a support DPS. With all that said, this guide will cover the best W-Engines, Disc Drives, Stats, Skills, Bangboo, and Teams for Rina!

W-Engines

S - Canon Rotor

⭐ Attribute Mastery

Oversized Barrel (level 1 stats)

  • Crit Rate is increased by 16%.
  • Attacks that deal a CRIT on an enemy will deal an additional 275% ATK as damage. This effect can only trigger once every 5 seconds.
  • As of now, the best S Rank W-Engine for Rina.
  • Attribute Mastery advanced Stat works great with Rina, as she is already rated one of the highest at base 118, and her kit mostly consists of electric damage.
  • Crit rate increase means overall more DPS, and for supports, you want to crit on your hard-hitting specials and ultimate.

A - Electro-Lip Gloss

⭐ Attribute Mastery

Kiss of Death (level 1 stats)

  • Deal 40% more Attribute Anomaly Damage
  • As Rina's kit is built mainly around building and maintaining shock, this is a very solid damage boost. Simple, no tricks about it.
  • More Attribute Mastery = higher electricity damage, which is the bulk of her damage.

A - Starlight Engine

⭐ ATK%

Knight Plummel (level 1 stats)

  • Launching a Chain Attack increases ATK by 24% for 10s
  • (This bullet only applies if using optimal team) Rina's additional ability passive is activated whenever she does a Chain Attack or an EX Special, so what I would do is chain attack into Rina, she gets her 24% attack buff, then use her EX Special in order to fulfill both conditions of her passive. Finish off with her ultimate if she has it. On top of that, her second additional ability enhances her chain attack by 12%.
  • ATK% advanced stat on her W-Engine, while not ideal, will obviously help overall DPS.

A - Demara Battery Mark II

⭐ ATK%

In a Flash of Light (level 1 stats)

  • Electric damage is increased by 15%
  • Gain 2.7 Energy when a Dodge Counter hits an enemy. This effect can trigger once every 5 seconds.
  • Not only do you get a nice electric damage boost, but if you need to dodge upon switching over to Rina, this gives her a quick recharge of energy, which means her next rotation can come along quicker for even more damage and chances to apply the shock anomaly.
  • Again, ATK%, while not the ideal stat for Rina's W-Engine, will help her EX Special and Ultimate dish out more damage.

Disc Drives + Stats

Option 1 - "Wipe Away"

4-Pieces Thunder Metal

2-Pieces Woodpecker Electro

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. ATK% or PEN Ratio% | VI. Anomaly Rate%

Sub stats in order of priority:

1. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | 2Pen | 3ATK% | 4. Attribute Mastery

This build relies on there being shocked enemies on the field for the majority of the battle. Not only does shock play into Rina's kit by activating both of her bonus passives, but with Thunder Metal 4 piece, you also get a 30% bonus so that if she ends up using her special or ultimate on the enemy, will cause massive damage, and hopefully land a crit with the bonus crit chance from Woodpecker. As this build (and Rina in general) only shine with shocked enemies, Anomaly Rate% on VI is an absolute must.

Option 2 - "Electrolytic Cleaning"

4-Pieces Freedom Blues

2-Pieces Thunder Metal

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. Attribute Mastery or ATK% | VI. Anomaly Rate%

Sub stats in order of priority:

1. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | 2Pen | 3ATK% | 4. Attribute Mastery

This build takes advantage of the damage caused by shock. As Rina's attribute mastery is already naturally high, adding even more on top to it, and stripping away electric resistance with the help of 4-piece Freedom Blues will ensure Rina is a deadly support DPS. I do not recommend this build if another electric support or DPS is using it, however, as it does not stack, and 8 seconds is a long time with how fast you will rotate between units. Go with Option 1 if that is your situation.

Skill Priority

ALWAYS PRIORITIZE CORE SKILL FIRST!!!

  1. As a support DPS, you're going to be switching to Rina whenever she has the energy to use her very powerful special attack, which also fulfills a condition of her core ability.
  2. As Rina's chain attack fulfills the second condition of her core ability, as well as the ultimate dealing heavy electric damage and debuffing, this is the next priority.
  3. You won't be using Rina's basic attack very much as a support DPS, however, whenever both puppets are out and she holds the basic attack button to return them to her, there is a huge damage multiplier. It's up to you to determine when to recall the puppets back to her, because leaving them out gives the team a constant buff.
  4. As Rina is a support, keep away agent, you won't use many dodge counters or attacks, however, her dash attack is a good way to quickly get both Drusilla and Anastasia out if you want your team to get the buffs from her passive.

Bangboo

S - Butler

Key Trait - Increases CRIT Rate of all Agents by 14%, and the CRIT Rate of Victoria Housekeeping Co. Agents by an extra 14%

Increasing the crit rate is generally good for everyone, and for Rina, as she is a member of Victoria Housekeeping, gets 28% crit rate, allowing you to focus your sub stats on other areas such as CRIT damage if you so choose.

S - Safety

Key Trait - Increases PEN Ratio of all Agents by 17.5%, and the PEN Ratio of Belobog Industries Agents by an additional 17.5%

Rina is already blessed with 15% PEN Ratio at level 60, this will further increase that by another 17.5%, giving her 32.5%, allowing Rina to penetrate even more of the enemies' defenses. To add, for Grace, an Agent that goes into Rina's optimal team comp, is a part of Belobog Industries, and she also happens to have natural 15% PEN at level 60, and with this, she ends at a total PEN Ratio of 50%, essentially ignoring half of the enemy's defense. In my opinion, if you have Grace and is in Rina's squad, use Safety. The same applies for Anton, who would end up with 35% PEN ratio.

Optimal Team Comp

This team consisting of Rina, Grace, and Anton ensures perfect electricity synergy between all involved by checking off all the requirements in their Core Skill Additional Ability. For Rina, when there are at least 2 electric agents, upon hitting an enemy with an EX Special Attack or Chain Attack the shock damage the enemy takes increases by 22.5%. This can stack two times for a total of 45% and is reset whenever shock ends. When you have two pierce agents, Rina's chain attacks deal 13% more damage. These go hand in hand, as to trigger the first passive, chain attacks work, and the second passive increases chain attack damage.

If you are unable to attain these specific units, I would go for the 2 electric agents' bonus, as that gives you the most return on investment. Rina definitely works best with a mono electric squad however, as her core passive gets buffed whenever there are shocked enemies on the field.

Overall Thoughts

Rina is a unique agent who offers both utility in her passives, as well as massive burst damage potential when everything is lined up. Getting the coordination down might take a bit of practice, but what I recommend is that you get your other electric agents cause enough impact damage to daze, chain attack into Rina, and use her special (then ultimate if she has it. This sequence checks off all the prerequisites for her core skills / passives and gets you in the situation to apply heavy damage with Rina.

Overall, if you want an optimal electric / shock support DPS with a unique playstyle that works perfectly with the team I highlighted above, I recommend Rina. However, if she is relegated to the standard banner only, I wouldn't worry about gunning for her until she's featured, unless you're a whale, of course.

Nekomiya Mana, better known as Nekomata in Zenless Zone Zero is an S rank Agent who deals Physical anomaly and slash damage. She is an extremely fast attacker able to quickly switch between multiple targets or focus on one to easily apply the assault anomaly for massive bursts of damage.

Below, you will find the best DPS builds for Nekomata as of the ZZZ Equalizing Test. Rather you are a F2P player or a spender, this guide is for you! *Note that these builds assume base talent level.

Overview

Available on the standard banner, Nekomata, a cat girl who is part of Gentle House, AKA Cunning Hares, is an agent that relies on fast attacks to overwhelm her opponents. A simple and straightforward, but fun agent to use, she is capable of outputting huge burst damage thanks to the assault effect from physical anomaly buildup. She stands out in the fact that she is able to effortlessly get behind opponents by holding her basic attack during the first 3 attacks, and that landing dodge counters grants her a temporary damage boost.

Nekomata should be built as a main DPS, as in order to maximize her damage output, you need to constantly land dodge counters and build up assault, which she excels at due to her fact attacks. With all that said, let's discuss the best W-Engines, Disc Drives, Stats, Skills, Bangboo, and Teams for Nekomata!

W-Engines

S - Steel Cushion

⭐ CRIT Rate

Metal Cat Claws (level 1 stats)

  • Physical damage is increased by 25%. This effect is increased by an additional 35% when attacking from behind.
  • Nekomata's canon W-Engine. This enhances her physical damage by a huge amount, and every single attack from her is physical, so this is the best W-Engine to improve her DPS output.
  • Nekomata has a mechanic to get behind an enemy built into her charge basic attack, so if you take advantage of that, you're guaranteed + 60% to her physical damage.
  • Crit Rate advanced stat on top of her base crit rate of 17% at level 60 means you can sacrifice a few crit rate rolls on your disc drives for other stats if you so choose.

S - Canon Rotor

⭐ Attribute Mastery

Oversized Barrel (level 1 stats)

  • Crit Rate is increased by 16%.
  • Attacks that deal a CRIT on an enemy will deal an additional 275% ATK as damage. This effect can only trigger once every 5 seconds.
  • Nekomata has the highest base attack in the game thus far at 954, meaning the 275% ATK bonus will scale very nicely.
  • Attribute Mastery advanced stat here will help Nekomata to apply the physical anomaly assault more often, which is a key part of her core kit.

A - Starlight Engine

⭐ ATK%

Knight Plummel (level 1 stats)

  • Launching a Chain Attack increases ATK by 24% for 10s
  • With how high Nekomata's attack is, when she comes off from a chain attack, this will give her a sizeable damage boost, and Neko can cause plenty of carnage with those 10 seconds due to her speed.
  • ATK% advanced stat will further scale nicely with her already high base attack.

A - Electro-Lip Gloss

⭐ Attribute Mastery

Kiss of Death (level 1 stats)

  • Deal 40% more Attribute Anomaly Damage
  • 40% more assault damage could be very effective, considering that's where a huge bulk of Nekomata's damage will come from.
  • More Attribute Mastery = easier for Nekomata to apply assault, which with at least 2 physical agents in the squad, assault can give you a massive burst of damage.

Disc Drive + Stats

Option 1 - "Critty Cat"

4-Pieces Woodpecker Electro

2-Pieces Fanged Metal

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. ATK% | VI. Anomaly Rate% or ATK%.

Sub stats in order of priority:

1.  CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | 2. ATK% | 3. Attribute Mastery | 4. ATK

This build is for if you want Nekomata to become a critical hit machine, foregoing PEN and PEN Ratio in favor of pure attack and crit damage. As her base attack is amongst the highest in the game, any ATK% or flat attack roll will help you to dish out more damage. You will want as high crit rate as you can afford in order to constantly trigger the Woodpecker Electro 4-piece set bonus, which shouldn't be difficult due to how fast Nekomata attacks.

For VI, you can go with either ATK% or Anomaly Rate%, if you're finding yourself itching for more assault triggers, go for Anomaly Rate%. However, if you are going with optimal team, go for Anomaly Rate% to trigger the catwalk ability more.

Option 2 - "Claws of Steel"

4-Pieces Fanged Metal

2-Pieces Puffer Electro

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. ATK% or PEN% | VI. Anomaly Rate%

Sub stats in order of priority:

1.  CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | 2. PEN | 3. ATK% | 4. Attribute Mastery

This build takes full advantage of the assault physical anomaly. Whenever assault is triggered, Nekomata's PEN ratio increases by 40%, and adding the 10% from Puffer Electro, you get a base 50%, not counting any bonuses you can get if you choose PEN% as your V main stat. If you go this route, you must prioritize rolling for PEN after you get an adequate level of crit rate and crit damage (100% crit damage for 50% crit rate, for example)

For VI, you absolutely must go Anomaly Rate% in order to trigger assault more, which is what this build relies on, not to mention assault + optimal team will land Nekomata as a top DPS for a long, long time.

Skill Priority

ALWAYS PRIORITIZE CORE SKILL FIRST!!!

  1. You want to prioritize Nekomata's dodge first because of her passive rewarding perfect dodges. Levelling this up first ensures you will do the maximum damage from the dodge attack and take advantage of the 15% damage buff upon landing a perfect dodge.
  2. As a main DPS, you want to focus on the basic attack next, as this is where the bulk of your damage will come after landing that perfect counter hit.
  3. Nekomata's core ability when there are at least 2 slash agents activates upon her landing a special EX attack on an enemy, making this higher priority than her ultimate. Not to mention decent scaling.
  4. Outside of chain attacks, her ultimate is her only reliable way to deal AOE damage, and it also ignores 10% of the enemies DMG Res, which, combined with my "Claws of Steel" build, pairs nicely. I rate it bottom priority though, as for a main DPS, you won't be relying on this to do most of your damage, more as a stylish finisher or room clear.

Bangboo

S - Amillion

Key Trait - Increases CRIT DMG of all Agents by 28%, and the CRIT DMG of Cunning Hares Agents by an extra 28%

As Nekomata is a member of the Cunning Hares, this gives her a bonus 56% CRIT DMG bonus, which is extremely strong, and allows you to roll for other stats, such as getting your CRIT Rate or ATK% up. Also, Billy, who I consider optimal in Nekomata's team comp, is also a member of Cunning Hares, so this benefits him as well for an overall stronger team.

S - Butler

Key Trait - Increases CRIT Rate of all Agents by 14%, and the CRIT Rate of Victoria Housekeeping Co. Agents by an extra 14%

While Nekomata is not a maid in Victoria Housekeeping, a 14% crit rate bonus will help you overall in your RNG stat rolls by needing less crit rate. The reason why this bangboo is especially good, however, is because Corin, who I consider to be optimal in Nekomata's team comp, is a member of Victoria Housekeeping, thus giving her a 28% crit rate bonus.

As of CBT2, the only way to receive S rank Bangboos is from mail gifts, we can assume it’ll be tied to a gacha mechanic like B and S rank bangboos. If your luck fails you, Paperboo and Luckyboo are also viable A rank options, while Sumoboo is an acceptable B rank option.

Optimal Team Comp

This team consisting of NekomataCorin, and Billy gives you perfect physical synergy between all involved by checking off all the requirements in their Core Skill Additional Ability. For Nekomata, where there are at least 2 physical agents, whenever Nekomata hits an enemy with an EX Special Attack, assault damage is increased by 22.5%. This can stack up to two times, and it will reset when the enemy takes assault damage. Corin helps to fulfill the second ability, which is when there are at least 2 slash units, Nekomata's physical damage is increased by 7.5%, and an extra 12.5% when she is attacking stunned enemies.

If you cannot acquire these specific units, go for at least one of the bonuses. Since Corin and Billy are both A rank, you will likely get them eventually, but if not, I would go for two physicals for the extra assault burst damage.

Overall Thoughts

Nekomata is a very simple, but very powerful S rank physical agent. If you like playing rogue / speedy characters in games, I would recommend you use her in your squad, but if she is stuck in standard banner, wait for them to be featured so you don't push your luck. Her damage potential with assault means you can beat down high HP bosses more quickly, and her dodge counter buff means you'll constantly be on your toes to land the timing.

Ellen Joe in Zenless Zone Zero is an S rank Agent who deals Ice anomaly and slashing damage. She specializes in AOE and single target ice damage and relies heavily on her dodge to maximize damage potential.

Below, you will find the best DPS builds for Ellen as of the ZZZ Equalizing Test. Rather you are a F2P player or a spender, this guide is for you! *Note that these builds assume base talent level.

Overview

Available on a limited time banner as of the most recent update, Ellen Joe, a shark themed maid employed with Victoria Housekeeping, is an agent with a wide breadth of attacks that all rely on her unique dodge and sprint mechanic, "Roaming State" granting her the ability to constantly apply ice elemental damage to her foes and surrounding foes thanks to her large AOE slash range. Albeit a bit more complex to use effectively than other agents, she is, in my opinion, one of the more fun units to use and eventually master. Thanks to the innate ability of ice to freeze enemies causing CC, she is one of the stronger attackers as she can constantly wail on enemies without needing to worry about them fighting back.

She can and should only be built one way, as a main DPS, due to the fact that she has to constantly activate roaming state in order to maximize her damage output. With all that said, let's discuss the best W-Engines, Disc Drives, Stats, Skills, Bangboo, and Teams for Ellen Joe!

W-Engines

S - Deep Sea Visitor

⭐ ATK%

Lord of Seas (level 1 stats)

  • ATK is increased by 20%.
  • CRIT Rate is increased by 27% for 6s after applying Freeze to an enemy.
  • The "canon" W-Engine. As Ellen is able to consistently apply ice damage upon entering Roaming State, Freeze will be applied at a reliable pace, therefore, in practice, she will constantly have an extra 27% crit rate, and you would be able to roll for other sub / main stats on your disc drives.
  • ATK% Advanced Stat + 20% at base level gives a massive ATK% bonus, allowing you to roll for other stats on disc drives. if you so choose.

S - The Restrained

⭐ Impact

Binding Chains (level 1 stats)

  • Ice DMG is increased by 25% in combat.
  • When a Basic Attack deals Ice DMG, the skill deals an additional 15% damage and Daze.
  • This W-Engine will further improve upon how much damage Ellen's ice attacks deal, which, if you use her effectively by making use of her unique Roaming State mechanic, will be a consistent boost to ice damage, not to mention the bonus 15% damage at level 1 when ice is applied to her basic attack.
  • Impact Advanced Stat + 15% bonus Daze at level 1 means that Ellen will be more effective at stunning enemies, allowing for your team to come in for chain attacks, or for Ellen to further attack and build up ice anomaly damage for a chance to freeze an enemy.

S - Canon Rotor

⭐ Attribute Mastery

Oversized Barrel (level 1 stats)

  • Crit Rate is increased by 16%.
  • Attacks that deal a CRIT on an enemy will deal an additional 275% ATK as damage. This effect can only trigger once every 5 seconds.
  • Attribute Mastery advanced stat, while not ideal for Ellen, will increase the amount of damage caused by Shatter.
  • Overall, if you want additional crit and damage overall, but do not have Deep Sea Visitor, this will be the second-best option for crit-build Ellen.

A - Electro-Lip Gloss

⭐ Attribute Mastery

Kiss of Death (level 1 stats)

  • Deal 40% more Attribute Anomaly Damage
  • 40% more shatter damage could be very effective if you are to consistently apply the Freeze effect to enemies by making use of her Flash Freeze stacks.
  • More Attribute Mastery = even more shatter damage.

Disc Drives + Stats

Option 1 - "Crit Maid"

4-Pieces Woodpecker Electro

2-Pieces Polar Metal

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. PEN% or ATK% | VI. Anomaly Rate%.

Sub stats in order of priority:

1.  CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | 2Pen | 3ATK% | 4. Attribute Mastery

This build is for if you want Ellen to become a critical hit master. If you combine this with Deep Sea Visitor or The Restrained, you will deal consistent and heavy critical hit damage, especially if you manage to get lucky with your Crit DMG and or Crit Rate stat rolls. For this build to truly shine, you want to land a crit at least once every 5 seconds you're on the field, which with Ellen, should not be an issue with how fast and how wide her attacks are.

With her ability to Freeze, Ellen will be able to CC enemies in order to potentially land even more critical hits within that 5 second time restraint, hence why you want to go for Anomaly Rate% to boost her rate of freeze.

Option 2 - "Defense Sweep"

4-Pieces Polar Metal

2-Pieces Puffer Electro

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. PEN% or ATK% | VI. Anomaly Rate%.

Sub stats in order of priority:

1. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | 2Pen | 3ATK% | 4. Attribute Mastery

While the stat recommendations remain the same, this build is for if you want Ellen to penetrate the defenses of tough foes (ex. bosses), especially if the enemy has high ice resistance. Ellen has a base 15% PEN Ratio at level 60, so with this, it'll be pushed to 25%, not counting any bonuses from main stats. This build, while good at helping you deal more damage, will require more luck in getting good rolls on Crit DMG or Crit Rate to make up the difference from Option 1.

For this build to be the most effective it can be, you want to aim for freezing whatever it is you're attacking once every 8 seconds, hence why you absolutely need anomaly rate% on not only Ellen, but on a support ice DPS as well. Overall, this build, while tougher to optimize and more "niche" than option 1, has very high potential for specific situations.

Skill Priority

ALWAYS PRIORITIZE CORE SKILL FIRST!!!

Bangboo

S - Sharkboo

Key Trait - Increases damage of all Ice Agents by 25%.

Much like the Deep Sea Visitor W-Engine, this is a shark theme banbgoo befitting of Ellen. As Ellen is an Ice agent and she pairs best with other ice agents (see team comp), this gives the entire team a straightforward damage buff, which will help you in all your endeavors.

S - Butler

Key Trait - Increases CRIT Rate of all Agents by 14%, and the CRIT Rate of Victoria Housekeeping Co. Agents by an extra 14%

As Ellen Joe is a member of Victoria Housekeeping Co, Butler gives her an additional 28% crit rate. This is extremely helpful, with the combination of Butler, W-Engine bonuses and stats, you should easily be able to get Ellen to near or 100% crit rate, and then you'd only need to pump crit damage to as high as your luck allows. Last but not least, Lycaon is also part of Victoria Housekeeping, meaning your daze unit will also receive a strong 28% crit rate bonus!

As of CBT2, the only way to receive S rank Bangboos is from mail gifts, we can assume it’ll be tied to a gacha mechanic like B and S rank bangboos. If your luck fails you, Paperboo and Luckyboo are also viable A rank options.

Optimal Team Comp

This team consisting of Ellen Joe, Soukaku, and Lycaon gives you perfect ice synergy between all involved by checking off all the requirements in their Core Skill Additional Ability. For Ellen, when there are at least 2 ice agents, Ellen's Ice DMG is increased by 7.5%, and if the enemies are stunned, that damage is increased by a further 12.5%, for a total of 20%. On top of that, when there are at least 2 slash agents in the squad, when Ellen's EX Special hits an enemy, she gains 1 point of Flash Freeze, saving time from needing to attack while in Roaming State. Equip all 3 with Anomaly Rate% on their VI-disc drive for constant freeze CC.

If you cannot acquire these specific units, go for at least one of the bonuses. The one with the greatest return would be 2 ice agents, as that will overall help Ellen perform better as your main DPS.

Overall Thoughts

I believe that in the right hands, Ellen is the strongest S rank in the game as of CBT2. She has a high skill ceiling, as you have to constantly go in and out of Roaming State and know when to charge and when not to charge her attack in order to maximize her damage potential as that is where the high damage multipliers lie. If you attempt to abuse her charge attack, you will find yourself getting hit out of it.

If Ellen is a limited unit in the full release, I 100% recommend that you save or re-roll for her.

Grace Howard in Zenless Zone Zero is an S rank Agent who deals Electric anomaly and piercing damage. She specializes in rapid shock AOE damage and can easily apply the shock effect in record time thanks to her special ability.

Below, you will find the best DPS and support DPS builds for Grace as of the ZZZ Equalizing Test. Rather you are a F2P player or a spender, this guide is for you! *Note that these builds assume base talent level.

Overview

Available on the standard banner (as of current test), Grace Howard is a Belobog Industries S rank agent, who deals ranged pierce and electric damage. She can weave in dodges and special attacks without interrupting her basic combo, making her a highly versatile agent. Her ranged attacks consist of rapid fire with a rifle, as well as electric grenades, which both deal wide AOE damage. Due to this, she is one of the best anomalies build up characters in the game thus far.

She can be built in many ways, but through my play testing, you can use her as your main DPS, or a support DPS, focusing on applying the shock effect at a reliable pace. Now then, let’s get on with the best W-Engines, Disc Drives, Stats, Skills, Bangboo, and Teams for Grace!

W-Engines

S - Canon Rotor (Main / Support DPS)

⭐ Attribute Mastery

Oversized Barrel (level 1 stats)

  • Crit Rate is increased by 16%.
  • Attacks that deal a CRIT on an enemy will deal an additional 275% ATK as damage. This effect can only trigger once every 5 seconds.
  • Attribute Mastery advanced Stat works great with Grace, as she is already rated one of the highest at base 118, and her ability to deal rapid electricity attribute damage makes it an appealing choice.
  • Crit Rate is especially good on Grace as her rate of attack is among the highest in the game, meaning more crit procs.

A - Starlight Engine Replica (Main DPS)

⭐ PEN Ratio

Knight Beam: Change (level 1 stats)

  • Basic Attacks that hit an enemy deal 20% increased damage. This effect is increased by an additional 25% when the target is 5 or more meters away.
  • As Grace is a ranged character, this fits with her kit perfectly. As a main DPS, you’ll have Grace on the field a lot, so naturally, her basic attack will be used more frequently, so this will amplify her damage output by a lot.
  • Pen Ratio Advanced Stat adds to her already 15% base at level 60, so her attacks will penetrate enemy defense even more with this W-Engine.

A - Demara Battery Mark II (Main DPS)

⭐ ATK%

In a Flash of Light (level 1 stats)

  • Electric damage is increased by 15%
  • Gain 2.7 Energy when a Dodge Counter hits an enemy. This effect can trigger once every 5 seconds.
  • If playing with Grace as your main DPS, a boost to her electric damage will help to dish more damage. If you are also able to consistently dodge counter, you will get a nice burst of energy which will increase the rate at which you can use Grace’s special and Ultimate, which are her strongest moves.
  • ATK% Advanced Stat means you can roll for other stats on your disc drives, not to mention helps with overall damage output.

A - Electro-Lip Gloss (Support DPS)

⭐ Attribute Mastery

Kiss of Death (level 1 stats)

  • Deal 40% more Attribute Anomaly Damage
  • Straight forward, good for essentially all elemental support DPS agents, so if you want to use Grace as a support DPS, this is a good choice.
  • More Attribute Mastery = higher electricity damage.

Disc Drives + Stats

Main DPS "Thunder Struck"

4-Pieces Thunder Metal

2-Pieces Puffer Electro

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. ATK% or PEN Ratio% | VI. Anomaly Rate% or Energy Regen%

Sub stats in order of priority:

1. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | 2. Pen | 3. ATK% | 4. Attribute Mastery

This build is for if you want Grace Howard to act as your main DPS carry. With how effective she can apply the shock effect, the 4-piece thunder metal alone is a perfect match, boosting damage from all her attacks. If you want to proc shock more, go for anomaly rate% on VI, but if you’d rather constantly use her special grenades, which is quite fun to spam and effective, go with energy regen. Both choices are viable. The 2-piece puffer electro further enhances Grace’s Pen Ratio to pierce defenses and deal even more damage overall.

4-Pieces Freedom Blues

2-Pieces Thunder Metal

Main stats: IV. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG | V. Attribute Mastery or ATK% | VI. Anomaly Rate%.

Sub stats in order of priority:

1. Attribute Mastery | 2. Pen | 3. ATK% | 4. CRIT Rate% or CRIT DMG

This build is for if you want Grace Howard to become one of, if not the best, support DPS in the game. The 4-piece Freedom Blues ensures that her naturally high attribute mastery can be used to its advantage with not only adding 20 more, but increasing the damage caused by shock, acting as a powerful suppressant against aggressive enemies.

You want high attribute mastery to maximize damage output, or just roll for ATK% if RNG is not on your side. Simply switch to Grace when she has energy, pop all your specials, ultimate if she has it, and then switch to your other agents to fill in. Rinse and repeat for an unstoppable team with this powerful support agent, especially against robotic enemies!

Skill Priority

ALWAYS PRIORITIZE CORE SKILL FIRST!!!

Bangboo

S - Safety

Key Trait - Increases PEN Ratio of all Agents by 17.5%, and the PEN Ratio of Belobog Industries Agents by an additional 17.5%

As Grace is a Belobog Industries Agent, Safety increases PEN Ratio for Grace by 35%, which means Grace gets a total base PEN Ratio of 50%! If you go this route, make sure to pump up Grace’s Pen as much as you can for outrageous damage potential. To add, if using Anton, who is part of Grace's optimal team comp, he too will benefit from this as a member of Belobog Industries, leaving him with a total base PEN Ratio of 35%.

S - Butler

Key Trait - Increases CRIT Rate of all Agents by 14%, and the CRIT Rate of Victoria Housekeeping Co. Agents by an extra 14%

Increasing the crit rate is generally good for everyone, but for Grace’s case, as she pairs extremely well with Rina (see team comp below), this gives Rina an additional 28% crit rate.

As of CBT2, the only way to receive S rank Bangboos is from mail gifts, we can assume it’ll be tied to a gacha mechanic like B and S rank bangboos. If your luck fails you, Paperboo and Luckyboo are also viable A rank options.

Optimal Team Comp

This team consisting of Grace Howard, Rina, and Anton ensures perfect electricity synergy between all involved by checking off all the requirements in their Core Skill Additional Ability. In the case of Grace, when there are at least 2 electric agents, Grace’s Electric DMG is increased by 30%. On top of that, when there are at least 2 pierce agents in the squad, the entire squad generates 0.1 energy per second that there are shocked enemies in battle. With 3 electric element agents, you can count on enemies constantly shocked, especially with the help of Grace’s Special.

If you are unable to attain these specific units, do not worry, but at least go for at the minimum 2 pierce and/or 2 electric agents in order to unlock the bonus that appeals most to you.

Overall Thoughts

While Grace can be used as a main DPS or a support DPS, I think she clearly shines the best when used as a support DPS. And by support, I mean pop her on the field when she has energy to spend, then put her back into reserves while you let Anton or someone else of your liking act as your main DPS. If you're dealing with a bunch of robotic trash mobs, however, Grace will ensure that you can clear them out quickly.
